G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra Official Teaser Trailer

The Blot had been trying to stay cautiously optimistic about the upcoming G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra feature film, but then I totally geeked out when I saw the movie’s first official trailer during last night’s Super Bowl.


The trailer might have been a little over the top but who cares, it’s a freaking live action G.I. Joe movie. Plus, it doesn’t look anything like that lame live action He-Man movie from the 80’s or that cheesy Street Fighter movie from the 90’s. G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra will debut in theaters on Friday, August 7, 2009.

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations - Chicago

The Blot is really excited for tonight’s episode of No Reservations because it features Tony visiting one of my all time favorite cities, Chicago. It’s more than a little surprising that Bourdain has never featured Chicago in an episode of No Reservations before considering the city’s distinctive personality and amazing food. While in Chicago Bourdain does it all, including eating at the famous L20 and stopping in for a slice of pie (that’s pizza to the rest of us) at a little joint named Burt’s Place. During his trip to the Windy City Bourdain also meets with avant-garde chef Homaro Cantu and local shock jock Mancow Muller, as well as dines on local delicacies such as deep-dish pizza, hot dogs and seafood from the Calumet River. Chef Tony even makes an appearance at a backyard BBQ for homemade specialties like sausage, creamed corn and beans. I recommend eating a little something before watching tonight’s episode or you might come down with a serious case of the munchies.

Scout Trooper Mighty Mugg - Internet Exclusive Star Wars Mighty Muggs Wave

Thanks to The Blot Says… reader Ryan we now have our very first look at the upcoming Scout Trooper Mighty Mugg, which will be one of four figures released as a part of an all new Internet Exclusive Star Wars Mighty Muggs Wave. This means this Wave will not be available at large nationwide chains such as Target, Wal-Mart and Toys R Us. According to the photo below’s caption, this Wave will include four Star Wars characters never before released in Mighty Muggs form.


Any guesses as to who might be included in this four figure set? My first thought is maybe we’ll finally see Padmé Amidala in Mighty Muggs form. My second guess would either be a Tusken Raider (a.k.a. a Sand Person) or maybe it will include the previously seen Gamorrean Guard. The only thing I can be certain of is it will not include the previously seen Episode IV Obi-Wan Kenobi since Episode I Obi-Wan Kenobi was already included in Star Wars Mighty Muggs Wave 2. I really think as long as one of the figures isn’t Jar Jar Binks The Blot will be happy with Hasbro’s selections.

Entertainment Earth is scheduled to announce the official four figure line-up on February 25th, but keep checking back with The Blot Says… before then for the latest in Mighty Muggs news!
