Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Debuts Tonight

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon logoEveryone seems to be having mixed feelings on the new host of NBC’s Late Night, but The Blot can’t wait to see how Saturday Night Live Alum Jimmy Fallon does sitting in the seat once held by two comedy legends: David Letterman and Conan O’Brien. Fallon’s hosting duties begin with tonight’s episode of Late Night and I am sure it will be heavily scrutinized by almost everyone with internet access. It should be extremely interesting to see how Fallon handles all of this newfound pressure as he begins his hosting duties of a show which has been a staple of NBC’s late night programming since 1982.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon - Jimmy Fallon
While all eyes will be on Fallon, I am more interested in seeing what The Roots have in store for us as Late Night’s official house band. I can only imagine what Black Thought and ?uestlove have prepared for their very first night of this new long standing gig on network television.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon debuts tonight, Monday, March 2, 2009, and then airs from here on out weeknights on NBC at 12:35/11:35c.

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations - Sri Lanka

In tonight’s episode of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, Tony travels to the island county of Sri Lanka to explore its unique South Asian culture and cuisine. Portuguese, Dutch, British, Indian, Arab, Malay and Moor traders have all contributed to the diversity of Sri Lankan food. While in Colombo, Tony enjoys popular street foods, rides in a tri-shaw, samples lampreys (a local delicacy), and eats a heaping pile of kotu roti. See kotu roti being made in the video clip below from tonight’s episode of No Reservations:

Bourdain’s journey doesn’t stop there though. He continues onto the smaller seaside village of Seenigama and speaks to villagers about how they rebuilt their town after 2004’s devastating tsunami. Once the rebuilding was complete, the unity of the townsfolk led to other projects, like the creation of a culinary school to help Sri Lankan’s learn to properly prepare local dishes. It sounds like tonight’s episode of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations should be a good one!

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations airs every Monday night at 10/9c on the Travel Channel.
