Reaper Season 2 Premieres Tonight on The CW

Reaper Season 2 Cast PhotoReaper, one of The Blot’s favorite new shows from last year, is finally making its Season 2 debut tonight (Tuesday, March 3, 2009). I have no idea why The CW pushed back the show’s season premiere to mid-season, but I’m just glad to finally have Sam, Sock and the rest of the Work Bench crew back on television. Reaper is really the only show I watch on The CW and for some reason I think its network affiliation scares off a lot of potential viewers. But if you love shows like NBC’s Chuck then you will definitely enjoy Reaper, so check it out! Plus, Ray Wise’s Satan might be the best character on television!

Reaper Season 2 Television Poster
There are lots of unresolved issues from last year’s season finale, but for those of you who missed out on Reaper Season 1 it’s nothing a quick recap can’t fix. Season two finds Sam wrestling with the recent discovery that he may be the son of the Devil. He quickly learns that getting groomed to take over the "family business" comes with a whole new litany of headaches, like the fact that the demon rebellion he once collaborated with is now out to kill him - a conflict further complicated when Sam’s friend Ben starts dating the demon assassin tasked with the job of hunting Sam down and killing him. Plus, Sam must now decide whether to reveal any of this news to his girlfriend Andi who's already wary of his extracurricular activities for Hell. (link) It all sounds a little intense, doesn’t it? Don’t worry, at its heart Reaper is still a fun, hip comedy that any fan of pop culture will enjoy.

Reaper airs Tuesday nights on The CW at 8/7c.

Barneyism Of The Week - The Karate Kid

Hey, The Karate Kid’s a great movie.

It’s the story of a hopeful, young karate enthusiast whose
dreams and moxie take him all the way to
the All Valley Karate Championship.

Of course, sadly he loses in the final round to that nerd kid.

But, he learns an important lesson about
gracefully accepting defeat.

“Wait, when you watch The Karate Kid you actually root
for that mean blonde boy?” - Lily

No, I root for the scrawny loser from New Jersey
who barely even knows karate.

When I watch The Karate Kid I root for the karate kid,
Johnny Lawrence from the Cobra Kai dojo.

Get your head out of your ass Lily.

How I Met Your Mother

Wow, has it really only been a month since our last new episode of How I Met Your Mother? It feels like forever, but thankfully we’re finally back on track with a series of all new HIMYM episodes. The Blot’s had so many HIMYM casting news stories I’ve wanted to discuss these past few weeks, but I figured it was better to just let them come as a surprise.

How I Met Your Mother - The Stinsons - Neil Patrick Harris as Barney Stinson and Frances Conroy as Loretta Stinson
Last night we saw the debut of Six Feet Under’s Frances Conroy as Barney’s long talked about but never seen mother Loretta, and next week we get another awesome guest star in the form of Ted’s former college girlfriend Karen who recently moved to New York. This should be a great episode since we find out pretty early on in the show that Lily and Marshall hated her in college and still her today! I don’t want to give it away completely, but I will give you a little hint…she starred in one of The Blot’s favorite ensemble comedies that began airing on FOX in 1998. If you’re dying to know if you’ve guessed correctly, click here.

Before I go, have you guys seen the How I Met Your Mother official Barneyism Generator!?!? How have I never heard of this website before? The Barneyism Generator is part of the show’s marketing for the release of its Season 3 Box Set, and it’s pure awesomeness. Just click the big yellow button and an animated Barney Stinson spits out never before seen Barneyisms. If you’re got some time to kill it’s definitely worth a read.

Kidrobot - 8 Inch Jaguar Warrior Dunny by Jesse Hernandez

Kidrobot - 8 Inch Jaguar Warrior Dunny and Packaging by Jesse HernandezThis Thursday, March 5, 2009, Kidrobot is releasing one of the coolest 8” Dunnys The Blot has seen in years. Jesse Hernandez’ Urban Aztec art continually blows me away and
I cannot wait to pick up one of his 8 inch Jaguar Warrior Dunnys. The design on this figure is amazing, and I am really excited about the ultra-evil, super rare Jaguar Warrior chase.

The Jaguar Warrior Dunny comes wearing war paint, a headdress, and a red, black and gold shield accessory. Each Jesse Hernandez 8” Dunny is $75 and can be purchased directly from Kidrobot.com here, your favorite online retailer or your local vinyl shop beginning Thursday, March 5. I wouldn’t wait to hunt down one these intricately designed limited edition vinyl figures though, as there are only 1500 being produced and the elusive chase will be in extremely limited quantities (the chase colorway is 1 in every 12 figures).
