Disney/Pixar Tin Toy Vinyl Figure from MINDstyle

Written and directed by John Lasseter, Tin Toy was MINDstyle’s first choice in selecting from the Pixar short films library. Lasseter designed Tinny as a one man band back in 1988 in the classic inventive short film that preceded the blockbuster Pixar Animation Studios feature films like Finding Nemo, Cars and Toy Story.


To capture the same style and approach of the short film, the collectible figure was designed to duplicate a tin toy, but is produced with vinyl materials and hand painted. Limited to only 500 pieces worldwide, the Tin Toy art toy collectible (ATC) vinyl figures will launch at San Diego Comic-Con 2010.

STRANGEco x Obey Giant Mr. Spray Vinyl Figure by Shepard Fairey

The Blot literally squealed like a little girl when I got the email last night from STRANGEco announcing the release of the Mr. Spray vinyl figure by Shepard Fairey. The Blot had heard rumors of a Mr. Spray figure for the longest time, but after months of speculation I started to assume the figure had been scrapped. Boy was I wrong! This is exactly the type of release Obey Giant fans have been clamoring for.


Mr. Spray is an original character created by Shepard Fairey in 2004 as a street-art appropriation of an advertising character design from the 1950s. Mr. Spray is the first original vinyl figure design by the artist in eleven years and will be released in mid-July 2010. Mr. Spray is an 11 inch rotocast vinyl figure, with 4 points of articulation and packaged with an OBEY mini stencil.


The STRANGEco x Obey Giant Mr. Spray vinyl figure by Shepard Fairey will be available in four colorways: The Black Mr. Spray will be limited to 350 pieces and is currently available for preorder at STRANGEco’s online store; The Red Mr. Spray will be limited to 350 pieces and is also currently available for preorder from STRANGEco’s online store; The Gold Mr. Spray is an Obey Giant Special Edition limited to 200 pieces, which will be released on ObeyGiant.com at a later date; and The Silver Mr. Spray is a StrangeCo Special Edition limited to 100 pieces, and will be available at San Diego Comic Con 2010 and later through STRANGEco’s online store.


Mr. Spray Black and Red will retail for $84.99 and begin shipping on or around July 20, 2010. The Black and Red editions will also be available at select neighborhood designer toy shops.

Tenacious Toys Exclusive Silver Tuttz Resin Figures by Argonaut Resins

Argonaut Resins’ END has been killing it lately with his Tuttz resin figures. Each colorway has been better than the last, but the upcoming Tenacious Toys exclusive Silver Tuttz are by far my favorite. The silver Tuttzs resin figure will be released in waves, with Wave 1 coming this Thursday, July 8th.


Wave 1 consists of 4 standard silver Tuttzs, 1 Robo Tuttz (a dark silver variant) and 1 Aquamarine Clear Blue Tint. The Tenacious Toys Exclusive Silver Tuttz will be sold blind-boxed for $55 each. All cats are signed and numbered on their bottoms by END and come with custom numbered packaging, a signed Certificates of Authenticity and include a Tuttz story mini card.
