NYCC 2010 Exclusive Age of Apocalypse X-Men Minimates Set 1

The Blot’s got no idea how I missed this, but Action Figure Xpress (“AFX”) didn’t just have one New York Comic-Con Exclusive Age of Apocalypse box set, they had two! This NYCC exclusive box set includes “Age of Apocalypse” versions of X-Men members Cyclops, Magneto, Rogue, and Sunfire.

The New York Comic-Con 2010 Exclusive Age of Apocalypse Minimates Box Set by AFX will retail for $17.00 each. If you’re unable to attend NYCC ’10 have no fear, these should be showing up on online retailers’ websites sometime soon!

Obey Giant Cornel West Screen Print by Shepard Fairey

Glen E. Friedman and Obey Giant’s Shepard Fairey have teamed up to produce an all new image of scholar and political philosopher Cornel West. Fairey is a big fan of Dr. West as a thinker and humanitarian, but his admiration grew even greater after spending time with him when Mr. West came to sign the prints. The experience was very inspiring. If you’re interested, you can check out some of Cornel West’s writings here.

“Cornel West” by Shepard Fairey and Glen E. Friedman measures 18”x24” and has a limited edition run size of 450 prints. This inspiring screen print will retail for $80 each and goes on sale Thursday, October 14th at the Obey Giant online store at a random time. Each print comes signed by Shepard, Glen, and Dr. West, and a portion of the proceeds will go to The City Kids charity.

Arctic Camo Hicks Custom Vinyl Figure by Huck Gee

Huck Gee had such an overwhelming response to his last SGT Hicks release, they sold out instantly, that he’s decided to remedy this situation by trying a different production approach for this next set. Huck’s made a new variant of the SGT Hicks figure, the "Arctic Camo" colorway, and he is available for preorder only. Huck will still cap the limited edition run size and honor the original $500 price tag, but the number of preorders we receive is going to determine the total size of this run (i.e. if you folks preorder 18 Hicks, Huck’ll make 18 and then close the run). Sounds like a win-win for The Blot!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I Character Movie Poster Set 1

Now that The Blot has read the Harry Potter series, you can expect a few more Harry Potter posts here on The Blot Says… I’ve already highlighted the new Harry Potter Lego playsets, and now check out this ominous looking first set of character movie posters for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I.  Like the movie posters say, "The Hunt Begins" on November 19th and "Nowhere Is Safe."

Warner Bros. has a history of churning out tons of Harry Potter one sheet movie posters for each film released, so expect some really great promo posters over the next few weeks as we get closer and closer to the release of the 2nd to last Harry Potter film ever.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I premiers in theaters on November 19th and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman, Bill Nighy and Warwick Davis.
