Barneyism of the Week - Barney’s Boutonnieres
“Oh, you’re wearing a flower” - Marshall
Thank you!
“Ah, didn’t compliment, just observed.” - Marshall
I know isn’t?
“Why are you wearing that?” - Robin
“Why does Barney do anything ever?” - Ted
Exactly, science!
There is an 83% correlation between
the times men wear boutonnieres and the times they get laid.
Think about it: proms, weddings, grandmas’ funerals.
Thanks for the redhead, Nanna.
The Everyday Boutonnieres by Stinson
Robin, did you know boutonniere is French for “booty is near?”
True story.

Mondo Star Wars Screen Print Series #13 - A Wretched Hive by Martin Ansin
The thirteenth screen print in the Mondo Star Wars Screen Print Series, “A Wretched Hive” by Martin Ansin, looks awesome. It depicts one of my favorite scenes from the original Star Wars film (I refuse to refer to it as “A New Hope”), when Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi visit the Mos Eisley Cantina. Not only does the print feature a menagerie of Star Wars aliens, but it also marks the first time Han Solo or Greedo have appeared in a Mondo Star Wars print.
Ansin thoughts behind “A Wretched Hive”: I've always liked that scene in Reign Of Fire where these post-apocalyptic survivors re-enact Star Wars scenes for their children; in the future, the stories that we really like have become legends. For this poster I tried to do something similar, but in the opposite direction in time. I wanted to see how the cantina scene would look if it had been illustrated for an old book, if Star Wars was a traditional epic adventure sharing space with King Arthur and Beowulf. Who knows, maybe sometime in the future it will.
“A Wretched Hive” by Martin Ansin is a hand numbered 24“x36” screen print, and is the first Mondo Star Wars print to have a variant edition! The standard Copper Edition, shown above, has a limited edition run size of 360 prints and retails for $50, while the variant Metallic Silver Edition has a run size of only 150 prints and retails for $85. Collectors can purchase “A Wretched Hive” directly from the Mondo Tees online store at a random time today, Thursday, November 18th.
