Diary of a Wimpy Kid Action Figure by Funko

The Blot won’t pretend I know anything about the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise other than the books are freaking everywhere I look! From what I’ve read, it’s a series of humorous books for children by Jeff Kinney that were turned into a live action movie earlier this year. The books seem to be extremely popular with kids, so you know they’re going to eat up this action figure based on the book’s protagonist, Greg Heffley a.ka. the "Wimpy Kid."

Mondo Star Wars Screen Print Series #14 - A Linch Pin Droid by Kevin Tong

The Blot is super excited about the fourteenth screen print in the Mondo Star Wars Screen Print Series because it’s by one of my favorite artists, Kevin Tong! Kevin’s “linch pin” prints are always amazing, and “A Linch Pin Droid” is no exception. The fact that it features a deconstructed R2-D2 makes it all that much better!

Mondo Star Wars Screen Print Series #14 - A Linch Pin Droid by Kevin Tong

Kevin Tong had this to say about hi print: “My print is called ‘A Linch Pin Droid’ and it’s an exploded view of R2D2, my favorite character in the Star Wars Trilogy. For this print, I made certain that I stayed true to the original Trilogy and spent months watching and pausing it. Although this print is largely technical, I was hoping that by showing R2D2′s individual tools and components all spread out, people can reflect on the moments in the Trilogy where he used those devices to save the day and the galaxy.” To find out more about the creative process behind this print click here.

“A Linch Pin Droid” by Kevin Tong is a hand numbered 24“x36” glow in the dark screen print. This Star Wars print has a limited edition run size of 400 and will retail for $50 each. Collectors can purchase “A Linch Pin Droid” directly from Mondo Tees at a random time Friday, November 26, here.

Mork Custom Mad’l Set (Subber Edition) by MAD

Mork Custom Mad’l Set Subber Edition (Stars, Stripes & Clouds) by MAD

I don’t know what happened, but somehow The Blot forgot to blog about one of my favorite reveals from last week! Lately MAD’s been working on two sets of hand made custom blind boxes, one for his 2008 subbers and one which was pre-sold to collectors. The first set, the Mork Mad’l Subber Edition, was completed last week and shipped out to MAD’s ’08 subbers. Since these were not sold to the general public, all the rest of us can do is look at these photos and drool!

Mork Custom Mad’l Set Subber Edition Cloud Mad'l and Matching Painting by MAD

Each Mork 10” Mad’l was hand painted and assembled by the artist and is limited to just 13 pieces. MAD created three version of his Mork Mad’l (Stars, Stripes and Clouds), and each vinyl figure comes with a matching painting. While I love Mork’s eyebrows, I think the custom zipper is my favorite part of these customs. MAD’s second set of custom blind box Mad’ls will be reportedly finished later this week and mailed out on Monday, so keep your eyes peeled for pics of those custom figures sometime soon!
