DC Universe Classics Wave 17 Blackest Night Action Figures
The Blot can’t lie, I was more than a little surprised to learn that Mattel would be releasing a DCUC wave of Blackest Night action figures after DC Direct already did such an amazing job with them. Then again, it looks like Mattel is doing everything it can to cash in on the upcoming Green Lantern craze. According to Mattel, Wave 17 is just its “first step” into DC Comics' Blackest Night, so I assume we’ll be seeing at least one more Blackest Night wave before everything is said and done.
DC Universe Classics Wave 17 consists of White Lantern Hal Jordan, Black Lantern Hal Jordan (as the variant figure), Orange Lantern Lex Luthor, Star Sapphire Wonder Woman, Blue Lantern Flash, Sinestro Corps Scarecrow and Indigo Lantern Atom. The Collect and Connect figure for Wave 17 is the modern version of the Anti-Monitor.
DC Universe Classics Wave 17 Blackest Night does not go on sale until June 2011, but you can already pre-order all of the figures above for $16.99 from Entertainment Earth.

Hellboy Screen Print by Florian Bertmer & Hellboy 2 Screen Print by Ken Taylor
Mondo continues its new Screen Print Director's Series based on the films of Guillermo del Toro with the release of not one, but two all new posters this Friday. After the killer Blade II by Mike Sutfin comes Hellboy by Florian Bertmer and Hellboy 2: The Golden Army by Ken Taylor.
The Blot loves that Guillermo del Toro is the first subject of Mondo’s new Director’s Series, but I do question their decision to release both Hellboy prints on the same day. I think it does a real disservice to the two artists. I mean how can you not compare the two prints when sold on the same day and have such similar subjects (and in my opinion one is a much stronger design than the other).
Both Hellboy prints measure 24”x36” and will retail for $45 each. Florian Bertmer’s Hellboy screen print has a limited edition run size of 240 pieces, while Ken Taylor’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army screen print has a limited edition run size of 360 prints.
Both Hellboy prints go on sale Friday, January 28th, at a random time on the Mondo Tees online store.

Metallic Treature Resin Figures by Motorbot
Motorbot recently released a wave of metallic Treatures and they look delightfully diabolical! The Blot’s really digging this unique take on one of Motorbot’s signature creations. The metallic paint on these mouthy creatures really pops and the Monster Kolor clear coat makes them shine like real metal monsters. One of these 4” resin figures has already sold, but you can still buy one (or both) of the remaining two Metallic Treatures directly from the Deadbear online store for $40 each. Get one while you still can!
