Captain America: The First Avenger Teaser Movie Poster & Trailer
Before Marvel unveiled its first trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger last night during the Super Bowl, they released the film’s first one sheet movie poster. The teaser poster’s not The Blot’s favorite, but the image is quite striking. I think between the new poster and the teaser trailer (seen below), I’m starting to feel good about this movie. Am I the only person who thinks Chris Evans might actually be able to pull off a live action Captain America?
Captain America: The First Avenger will hit theaters this summer on Friday, July 22nd.

First Look: Flashpoint Wave 1 Action Figures by DC Direct
Talk about DC Direct being on the ball! DC Comics hasn’t even released the first issue of its upcoming company summer crossover Flashpoint, and here they are already promoting its new line of Flashpoint specific action figures. Evidently DC Direct has been working closely with Flashpoint writer Geoff Johns’ concepts and artist Andy Kubert’s designs to bring you four awesome figures based on the characters central to Flashpoint’s storyline.
Flashpoint Wave 1 consists of The Flash, Batman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg. While The Flash looks kind of lame, how sick are the Cyborg and Wonder Woman figures? I don’t know about you, but these figures have The Blot even more excited about this "what if" type storyline. I might even pick up the books after seeing these character designs. Look for Flashpoint Wave 1 action figures in stores everywhere this summer.

One of those very talented people is swiss designer Pepe and his Smallstuff Studio. Pepe does some incredible things with wood, including these 4” wood figures. WOODSPRITES are handcrafted by Pepe out of Sapele and Maple wood, and each sprite is unique in its shape and wood texture. So every WoodSprite is a true one of a kind figure!
This limited edition release includes 12 WOODSPRITES figures. Each has a natural beewax finish, an iron-branding on its backside with the artist’s signature, and is individually numbered on the bottom. These awesome wood figures will go on sale at the Smallstuff online store today, Monday, February 7th, at 19:00 CET. Each figure retails for $50 each.
