Marvel Universe Pop! Vinyl Figure Bobble Heads Wave 1

Marvel Pop! Vinyl Figure Bobble Heads - Spider-Man, Wolverine & Captain America

Solicitations for Funko’s new line of cute and chunky Marvel Universe Pop! vinyl figure bobble heads have finally hit the web, and Wave 1’s line-up is even better The Blot originally thought. Wave 1 includes Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and the Fantastic Four’s Thing. Did they pull out all the big guns or what? I love all the little details Funko included on these figures, but none more so than the Things’ big blue eyes. Cuz you know, he ain’t "The Ever Lovin' Blue-Eyed Thing" without them!

Marvel Pop! Vinyl Figure Bobble Heads - Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk & The Fantastic Four's Thing

If The Blot had one complaint it would be the lack of female characters. Funko released 2 female figure in DC’s first 2 waves (Batgirl and Wonder Woman), and I would expect at least 1 in the Marvel’s first Wave. I’m also surprised we didn’t get a comic book version of Thor to go along with the soon to be released Thor Movie Pop! vinyl bobble head. I’m sure we’ll see one in Wave 2 though.

Each Marvel Universe Pop! vinyl figure bobble head stands 3.75” tall, has a rotating head and comes in a displayable window box. You can pre-order all 6 of these Marvel vinyl figure bobble heads from Entertainment Earth here for $9.99 each. Wave 1 is expected to hit store shelves in May 2011.

X-Men: First Class Character Movie Poster Set 2

X-Men: First Class One Sheet Movie Poster - James McAvoy as Charles Xavier

Oh my god, if you, like The Blot, thought the first set of X-Men: First Class character movie posters were bad, wait until you get a look at these! What is going on over at the Sony marketing department? Does no one know how to photoshop anymore? Continuing the same theme as before, these posters feature the superimposed faces of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Charles Xavier and Magneto from 1963 over the shadowy outlines of their present day selves.

X-Men: First Class One Sheet Movie Poster - Michael Fassbender as Magneto

I don’t know about you, but these last four X-Men: First Class one sheet movie posters have me seriously questioning this film’s credibility. Who OK'ed these posters!?! They seriously look like they were fan made, and not even by talented fans. Someone needs to rethink this film's marketing strategy ASAP…and what's so frustrating is that first trailer was so good!

X-Men: First Class is directed by Matthew Vaughn is scheduled to debut in theaters on June 3, 2011.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind Screen Print by Todd Slater

Close Encounters of the Third Kind Standard Blue Edition Screen Print by Todd Slater

The Blot can’t lie, as much as I love sci-fi movies I’ve never been a huge fan of Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind. But combine Spielberg’s seminal 1977 film with Todd Slater, one of The Blot’s favorite artists, and you end up with an incredible, highly detailed screen print. Just look at all the details Slater put into this one! While I may not care about CE3K, how does anyone pass up purchasing this stunning print?
