“1986” & “1987” Video Game Inspired Screen Prints by Todd Slater

“1987” Mega Man Inspired Screen Print by Todd Slater

After the huge success of Todd Slater’s previous The Legend of Zelda inspired screen prints “Overworld” and “Underworld”, Todd realized they were being seen as more than just a promo for an old video game. “For some,” he said on his website, “they were a window to the past, remembering the endless hours facing the same enemies, bosses, and stages over and over again. For others, particularly, people outside the 20-40 age group, the pixel characters meant nothing, but what they saw instead was the intricately woven design.”

Todd then decided to release two all new video game themed prints, the Metroid inspired “1986” and the Mega Man inspired “1987.” Since both Nintendo games have a sci-fi vibe to them, Todd chose to print both prints entirely on mirrored rainbow foil paper stock. How cool is that!?! These were Slater’s best sellers at Flatstock and probably won't last too long on his online store. So act quickly!

Both “1986” and "1987” are 18”x24” 3 color screen prints. Each print comes signed and numbered by the artist and both prints have a limited edition run size of 100 pieces. You can purchase both of these prints (while supplies last) at ToddSlater.net for $40 each.

Unpainted Yellow Ollie Vinyl Figure by LASH

Unpainted Yellow Ollie Vinyl Figure by LASH

There are two figures out there The Blot is dying to get his hands on. One is Paul Kaiju’s Boss Carrion (more on this figure later) and the other is this one, Ollie by Last Dying Wish (“LASH”). What’s amazing is I’ve actually had an opportunity to buy both at retail over the past 2 months, but for one reason or another I’ve stupidly passed on both. Well for all you vinyl fanatics hoping to get your hand on an Ollie, your latest opportunity is this Saturday!

What’s amazing about this release is it wasn’t even supposed to happen. After Kaiju Korner posted pictures of its recent visit to the Mutant Vinyl Hardcore studios, LASH received so many emails requesting unpainted yellow Ollies he decided to give his fans what they wanted. Which leads us to this Saturday's lottery sale!

For $100 you get 1 Unpainted Yellow Ollie with a black bandanna. To enter the lottery send an email with the subject “Mellow Yellow” to MVH.Ollie@gmail.com starting on Saturday, April 2nd, at 12:01am and ending at 11:59pm that same day (all EDT). Winners will be chosen and notified on Sunday, April 3rd. In the body of your email be sure to include your name, address and if you’re a Skullbrain member, your Skullbrain username. Good luck to everyone going after this amazing figure!
