Night & Day Raku 8” Dunnys by Huck Gee

Wow, now this is the kind of 8 inch Dunny release The Blot has been waiting for! Kidrobot has transformed one of Huck Gee’s beloved Gold Life custom figures into an amazing 8" production piece that I know fans will be salivating over. The Raku 8” Dunny will be produced in two versions (Day and Night) and in two colorways (Red and Black), which is very reminiscent of Huck’s Shogun and Geisha 8” Dunnys released way back in 2007.

Raku is forever on the road, an unassuming traveler by day, a purveyor of the wealthy by night. Each version of Huck Gee’s Gold Life Raku 8” Dunny will be limited to just 500 figures, meaning there will be 2,000 Raku’s released in total. Daylight's cloth-robed Raku comes with an expertly sculpted tail, removable peasant sandals and plastic bamboo hat, and travels with a coiled rope, bedroll, and walking staff in-hand. Night’s ninja Raku trades his peasant hat for a wind-whipped mask and adds a formidable blade and tekagi-shuko to his lethal arsenal. Be warned; Gold Life is coming, and ninjas are serious business!

The Red 8-inch Raku Dunnys (Night & Day versions) are Kidrobot exclusives, sold only at Kidrobot stores and kidrobot.com on May 19th. The Black 8-inch Raku Dunnys (Night & Day versions) will be available exclusively at specialty retailers on May 26. All four versions will retail for $100 each.

To celebrate the release of this beautiful new Dunny, Huck Gee will be going on a Kidrobot signing tour May 25th at KRSF and May 26th at KRNY.

Please help The Blot Says… welcome Plastic City to the world of designer toys! This start up toy company has already lined up a killer roster of artists, including Tristan Eaton, Jermaine Rogers, MCA and Josh Taylor, for what looks to be some very exciting releases. Is that a Jermaine Rogers bunny I spy in the teaser images above!?! While Plastic City is still somewhat of a mystery, I think it’s safe to say the newest addition to the designer toy community will be making a big splash come Comic-Con. X-Men: First Class Character Trailers

Yesterday, MTV.com released 3 never before seen X-Men: First Class character trailers featuring Marvel heavyweights Beast, Havok and Banshee! This is the first time I can remember a movie releasing character trailers, but I have to say it's a pretty cool idea. Especially when they are for secondary comic book characters the general public is probably not familiar with.

The Blot’s been wondering what kind of roles Havok and Banshee will playing in the film, and if these trailers are any indication, they’ll be active members of Xavier’s X-Men. While I’ve absolutely loved all of the video clips I’ve seen of X-Men: First Class so far, I am starting to worry that maybe they’re showing too much. Will there be anything left to marvel at in the theaters?

X-Men: First Class is scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 3, 2011, and stars Nicholas Hoult as Beast (Hank McCoy), Lucas Till as Havok (Alex Summers), and Caleb Landry Jones as Banshee (Sean Cassidy).
