SDCC 2011 Exclusive Batman: Arkham City Harley Quinn Mimobot

Last week at E3, Mimoco unveiled a sneak peek at their new Batman: Arkham City San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Harley Quinn Mimobot! Only available for purchase at Mimoco's 2011 Comic-Con booth, the Harley Quinn Mimobot is in anticipation of the October 18th release of Batman: Arkham City in North America, the sequel to the previous smash-hit action-adventure video game, Batman: Arkham Asylum. Harley Quinn encompasses the fan-favorite Batman character as re-imagined in Arkham City styling with red and black leather bustier, rainbow-highlighted pigtails, shock of blonde hair and the menacing white face of a sociopath worthy of The Joker's love.

Mimoco teaming up with what will sure to be one of the top games of 2011 is a brilliant idea, and while the 1st video game got rave reviews The Blot’s not a huge fan of super hero toys based on their video game and/or movie looks. Especially when I’ve never played the video game! I’m more of a traditionalist in that sense. However, if you check out the cover artwork of Suicide Squad #1 (due out September 2011), this SDCC 2011 Exclusive Mimobot may match Harley Quinn’s look (except the hair) in the newly rebooted DC Universe.

Each Mimobot designer USB flash drive comes in a range of 2GB to 16GB memory capacities and is preloaded with MimoDesk character-specific content including wallpapers, avatars, screensavers, and other digital extras. SDCC 2011 Exclusive Green Lantern Movie Light-Up Lantern 100% Be@rbrick

Every year there is that one San Diego Comic-Con exclusive that the minute I see it The Blot knows I have to have it. This year, that exclusive is the Diamond Comics x Medicom Green Lantern Movie 100% Light-Up Lantern Be@rbrick. While the idea of a Green Lantern “Lantern” Be@rbick that actually lights up is cool, what makes this a must buy for The Blot is its packaging! If you don’t recognize this 100% Be@rbrick’s blister card packaging, it is modeled after Kenner’s 1980s Super Powers Collection toy line.

The Super Powers Collection was one of my favorite toy lines as a little kid, but sadly it only lasted three waves (34 figures in all). While DC Comics’ Super Powers action figures don’t hold up well compared to toys of today, nothing beats its iconic packaging. Something about those colors and stars just screams DC Comics to me.

The HOLE in the Middle, a brand new children’s book by Kidrobot found Paul Budnitz and illustrated by Aya Kakeda, was released last week published by Hyperion Press. To celebrate its release, Paul and Aya will be at Kidrobot New York on June 23rd for an exclusive signing of an extra special bundle that includes the book and a super limited 3 inch Dunny designed by Aya. The festivities will take place from 6-8pm and coincide with the trading party for the new Dunny Series 2011.
