Torchwood: Miracle Day Cast Photo & Television Poster

Torchwood: Miracle Day One Sheet Television Poster

So last Friday was Miracle Day, the day nobody dies. And you know what? The Blot has no idea what happened!!! Torchwood, one of my favorite television shows, returned to TV last Friday after a year hiatus and is now airing exclusively on STARZ in the US. This means I have no way of watching it unless I add STARZ to my cable service and it’s more than a little frustrating. Yes, I could pay for STARZ but does anyone really pay to watch STARZ? So, for those of you that did get to watch the season premier of Torchwood: Miracle Day, what’d you think?

Torchwood: Miracle Day Cast Photo - Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper, John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, Alexa Havins as Esther Drummond & Mekhi Phifer as Rex Matheson

For those of you that do have STARZ I highly recommend catching the new season of Torchwood. Captain Jack Harkness is one of the best characters on television and hand down my all time favorite Doctor Who character. It also doesn’t hurt that one of my favorite moments from SDCC 2 years ago was meeting John Barrowman in the dealers room and taking a picture with him. Here’s hoping Torchwood: Miracle Day is released on bluray soon after the 10 episode season ends.

One day, nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep aging -- they get hurt and sick -- but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight. With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four month's time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural event – someone’s got to be behind it. It’s a race against time as C.I.A. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy. The answers lie within an old, secret British institute. As Rex keeps asking “What is Torchwood?", he’s drawn into a world of adventure, and a threat to change what it means to be human, forever.

Torchwood stars John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper, Mekhi Phifer as Rex Matheson and Bill Pullman as Oswald Danes.

SDCC 2011 Exclusive Profondo Rosso Edition M 5 Bravo & Stee-Gar Vinyl Figures

Unbox Industries - San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Profondo Rosso Edition M 5 Bravo & Stee-Gar Vinyl Figures by Jeff Lamm

Last week Unbox Industries announced their San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive M 5 Bravo & Stee-Gar colorway would be entitled the “Profondo Rosso” Edition and feature red, gold and silver spray. According to Google, Profondo Rosso is a reference to the 1975 film Deep Red, but I really have no idea why. I prefer to think of this as an Iron Man inspired colorway, especially since it’s debuting at SDCC!

The SDCC 2011 Exclusive Profondo Rosso Edition M 5 Bravo & Stee-Gar vinyl figures by Jeff Lamm will be available for purchase in limited quantities at Comic-Con starting on Thursday, July 21st, at the Onell Design SDCC booth.

SDCC 2011 Exclusive Zarana G.I. Joe Action Figure by Hasbro

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Original Pink Zarana Limited Edition G.I. Joe Action Figure

If there is one thing you can be sure of every single year it’s that Hasbro will release an amazing San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive G.I. Joe: A Real American action figure! Well, every year except the one year I actually went to Comic-Con. Oh well! This year’s single carded SDCC Exclusive is the much beloved Dreadnok Zarana, the sister of Zartan and Zandar. It’s pretty crazy to think this action figure originally came out 25 years ago, especially since I bought it way back when! If only I could figure out where all my G.I. Joes are the next time I visit my parents’ house.

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Modern All Black Zarana Limited Edition G.I. Joe Action Figure

Known for her trademark pink hair and crop top, Zarana will be released at SDCC in two different colorways: the more common limited edition pink version and the ultra limited edition Cold Slither all black version. For those of you who might not remember the "Cold Slither" episode of G.I. Joe, it featured another hair-brained scheme of Cobra Commander in which the Dreadnoks formed a rock band called Cold Slither that used subliminal messages to control their listeners' minds.

Both versions of the San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Zarana G.I. Joe action figure will be available for purchase at Hasbro’s SDCC Booth #3329 for around $12.99. Any remaining figures will be available on HasbroToyShop.com after the convention.

SDCC 2011 Exclusive Sentinel 19 Inch Marvel Universe Action Figure

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Sentinel 19 Inch Marvel Universe Action Figure in Blister Card Packaging by Hasbro

After the huge success of last year’s 19” Galactus Marvel Universe action figure, Hasbro will be releasing a San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive 19" Sentinel Marvel Universe deluxe action figure packaged in a blister card with artwork by Marvel's Joe Quesada. The blister card will be a gigantic 27 inches tall, keeping it in scale with the 19” Sentinel and matching the blister card packaging of Hasbro’s Marvel Universe 3.75” action figure toy line.

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Sentinel 19 Inch Marvel Universe Action Figure and Window Box Packaging by Hasbro

The San Diego Comic-Con 2010 Exclusive Sentinel 19 Inch Marvel Universe Deluxe Action Figure features real robotic lights and sounds, but unlike Galactus (which came with the Silver Surfer) the Sentinel will not be packaged with a standard 3.75” figure. There will actually be two versions of this deluxe action figure released, the standard lighter colored version and the SDCC Exclusive classic dark purple Sentinel. At least this way everyone should be able to get their hands on some version of this massive mutant killer. Both versions will also come packaged in a protective window-box.

The Comic-Con Exclusive 19” Sentinel Marvel Universe action figure will be available for purchase at Hasbro’s SDCC booth #3329, with a limited number of figure available after the show at HasbroToyShop.com.
