SDCC Exclusive 2011 Star Wars Clone Trooper Custom Hi-Def Vinyl Figures by Keithing (Keith Poon)

San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive 2011 Star Wars Clone Trooper Custom Hi-Def Vinyl Figures by Keithing (Keith Poon)

Two years ago at San Diego Comic-Con The Blot bought one of my all time favorite toys, a Star Wars inspired colorway of kaNO’s Hi-Def vinyl figure entitled Boba Def. This summer Boba Def gets an unofficial follow-up in the form of a 12 figure set of custom Hi-Defs by Keith Poon inspired by Star Wars’ Clone Troopers. According to Vinyl Pulse, Keith has produced 3 of each Clone Trooper colorway (yellow, red, blue and green) and each Trooper Def will retail for $300.

Rumor has it one set will be available for purchase on ToyQube’s website tonight, while the other eight custom Cone Trooper Hi-Def vinyl figures will be available for purchase at ToyQube’s SDCC Booth #4934. If you happen to be at Comic-Con this year, feel free to pick one of these bad boys up for me!

The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Movie Poster

The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Theatrical One Sheet Movie Poster

Earlier this week Warner Bros. released the very first one sheet movie poster for 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises directed by Christopher Nolan. The Blot would think this poster was a lot cooler if it didn’t remind me so much of Nolan’s last film, Inception. Didn’t he already release almost this exact same poster image earlier this year? All those posters needed was a bat like outline in the middle. Regardless, The Blot is super stoked for the release of Nolan's third Batman film.

The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to premiere in theaters worldwide on July 20, 2012 (one day after my birthday!).

SDCC 2011 Exclusive BatBaby Sharky Vinyl Figure by Keithing (Keith Poon)

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive BatBaby Sharky Vinyl Figure by Keithing (Keith Poon)

Now this is my favorite kind of San Diego Comic-Con 2011 exclusive, a designer vinyl figure featuring a super hero inspired colorway! Batbaby by Keith Poon is a 5” Sharky vinyl figure that bears a striking resemblance to DC Comics’ popular caped crusader, Batman. Limited to 150 pieces, each figure comes with a custom made cape and can be purchased from the ToyQube SDCC booth #4934 for $47.99 each.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 “It All Ends” Character Movie Poster Set

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 “It All Ends” Character Movie Poster Set - Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter & Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley

We’re one day closer to the end and the hype continues to build. Fans everywhere are already lining up for the world premier of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the eighth and final film in the Harry Potter film franchise. This is the second set of one sheet character movie posters for Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and this one is even better than the last.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 “It All Ends” Character Movie Poster Set - Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange, Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort & Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 “It All Ends” Portrait Movie Poster Set - Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter

Just look at the expressions on each character’s face…each one tells its own story full of pain and desperation. This is how you market a movie with still images! Even the blank face of Voldemort tells a thousand tales in just one simple move poster. It’s too bad other films haven’t been able to follow in the footsteps of the Harry Potter franchise.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 debuts in theaters this Friday, July 15th.

Transformers: The Animated Movie Screen Print by Tim Doyle

Transformers: The Animated Movie Standard Edition Screen Print by Tim Doyle

Austin Books and Comics recently commissioned artist Tim Doyle to produce a promotional poster for their screening of The Blot’s favorite Transformers movie of all time (a.k.a. the original Transformers: The Movie from 1986) at the Blue Starlite Drive-In Theater in Austin Texas. Austin Books will have the above screen print, along with its metallic variant, in store only today, Wednesday, July 13th! The Blot would kill for this beautiful print, but according to Mr. Doyle, Austin Books has very few copies in stock so these should go incredibly quickly.

Transformers: The Animated Movie Metallic Variant Screen Print by Tim Doyle

I especially love this movie poster because it features some of my favorite Transformers characters who typically get no love from the Transformers Universe and its diehard fans. That short list includes Rodimus Prime, Wheelie, the Junkions and grumpy old crotchety Kup! If anyone in the Austin area is heading down to Austin Books and Comics to pick up their weekly comics and/or one of these beautiful prints please shoot me an email! I would love some help in picking one of these up.

"Transformers: The Movie" by Tim Doyle is a 16”x26” signed and numbered screen print (the run size on the Standard Version and Metallic Variant are currently unknown). Both versions feature metallic silver ink, while the Metallic Variant is printed with silver, gold, and copper ink. Austin Books and Comics is located at 5002 North Lamar in Austin, and will open at 9am today. Hopefully you are already heading there if you want to get your hands on one of these awesome prints!
