Blox Vinyl Figures Wave 1 by Funko

Now this is the type of release that exemplifies why The Blot loves Funko so much! They aren’t afraid to mix and match different characters from different genres into one killer toy line. Take for instance the very first wave of its all new Blox vinyl figures. In one release they have Batman and The Joker from the DC Universe, along with the General Mills Monsters and Gene Simmons of Kiss! Can’t get more random than that, can you?

Blox vinyl figures stand 7” tall and feature some serious edges! Blox Wave 1 is scheduled to hit store shelves in November 2011, and will include Batman, The Joker, The Demon (Gene Simmons), Count Chocula, Frankenberry and Boo Berry. But just wait, future waves will also include characters from Ugly Dolls, Marvel, The Simpsons, Mars Attacks, Disney, Pixar and Star Wars. I for one can’t wait to see a toy line featuring a mixture of Batman, Spider-Man, Bart Simpson, Mickey Mouse and Darth Vader. Just think of the possibilities!

Glowmelon Salamander Joe Vinyl Figure by Paul Kaiju

This Saturday, July 30th, Paul Kaiju unleashes the newest colorway of his bizarre invader from another dimension, Salamander Joe! The Glowmelon Salamander Joe has a very unusual glowing texture in the dark, very alien and quite mysterious! Each figure is made with GID vinyl, features metallic green, gold, and pink spray, and includes a “Bitermite” arm weapon.

The Glowmelon Salamander Joe will retail for $90 each and will only be sold via an online form on PaulKaiju.com starting on July 30th at 12:00 PST. The sign up form for the lottery will only be available 24 hours so don’t forget to sign up (and cross your fingers)!

Cowboys & Aliens Screen Print Series by Daniel Danger, Tom Whalen & Janée Meadows

To coincide with today's world premier of Cowboys & Aliens, Mondo will be releasing its Cowboys & Aliens screen print series, which it curated with the film’s director, Jon Favreau! Favreau personally approved and art directed the series with Mondo, making for one very exciting and movie authentic release. This three print series features two of The Blot’s favorite artists (Daniel Danger and Tom Whalen) and is arguably even better than the movie itself (at least based on the film’s early reviews). While a limited number of Danger’s Cowboys & Aliens posters were originally released at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, today marks the first release of both Whalen and Janée Meadows’ C&A prints.

Cowboys & Aliens by Daniel Danger is an 18"x24" hand numbered screen print with a limited edition run size of 420 and will retail for $40 each. Cowboys & Aliens by Tom Whalen is a 24"x36" hand numbered screen print with a limited edition run size of 190 and will retail for $35 each. Cowboys & Aliens by Janée Meadows is an 18"x24" hand numbered screen print with a limited edition run size of 170 and will retail for $35 each. All three prints go on sale at the Mondo online store today, Friday, July 29th, at a random time.
