The Blot is way behind on this release, but the fourth colorway of Steve Talkowski’s Sketchbot vinyl figure made its world debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2011 last month! The Sketchbot V4 is florescent green and includes a stylus accessory for all you Cintiq aficionados! The Sketchbot is one of The Blot’s favorite new figures, and I love how digitally savvy this green colorway is (just like its creator naturally!).

The Sketchbot Green Variant by Steve Talkowsky stands 5 inches tall and has 6 points of articulation. Originally available at the Dragatomi SDCC booth #4935, it can now be purchased for just $35 from the Dragatomi online store.

The Ugly Unicorn Vinyl Figure by Rampage Toys

Meet Rampage Toys’ (aka Jon Malmstedt) newest creation, the soon to be released Ugly Unicorn! The Ugly Unicorn is a mysterious creature believed to come from a planet where cake and frosting are the main source of sustenance. Via some seemingly random circumstances (a wormhole perhaps?) he has come to earth and now seeks the only thing that can keep him alive - CAKE! Due to his absurdly ridiculous size (measured by scientist to be somewhere around 75' - depending on his food intake at time of measurement), the Ugly Unicorn tends to make a mess of his search for food; destroying things and leaving rubble in his wake.

Jon recently moved to Japan where this fun, new vinyl figure will be produced. The Ugly Unicorn will stand a little over 5” tall, has 1 point of articulation at the waste, and will be released in unpainted opaque red and yellow soft Japanese vinyl for its first release. The Ugly Unicorn vinyl figure will be available for pre-order this Tuesday, August 16th, at 8pm EST in the Rampage Toys online store. Each unpainted figure will retail for $32 and comes bagged with a header card.

Age of X Marvel Minimates Box Set

Hot off the heels of the popular “Age of X” crossover that ran through some of Marvel's X-Men books (X-Men: Legacy and New Mutants) earlier this year comes the Age of X Minimates box set from Diamond Select Toys! The “Age of X” storyline took place in an alternate reality where mutants were hunted and killed. The remaining survivors walled themselves into Fortress X, and the X-Men we all know and love lead very different lives there.

This Marvel Minimates four figure set includes the "Age of X" versions of Gambit, Magneto, Rogue (a.k.a. "Legacy") and Cyclops (a.k.a. "Basilisk"). Each Minimate stands 2.5" tall with 14 points of articulation and a variety of removable and interchangeable parts and accessories. The Age of X Minimates box will retail for around $18 and comes packaged on a blister card.
