Skin Deep Custom Resin Figures by Scott Wilkowski

Skin Deep Custom Resin Figures by Scott Wilkowski - Luke Chueh's “Possessed,” Scott Tolleson's “Otis & Otto,” Buff Monster’s “Buff Monster”, October Toys “Gwin,” Suckadelic's “Sucklord” and Frank Kozik's “Labbit”

Wow, this is one of those releases that reminds The Blot how exciting a designer art toys can be! I’m personally not all that into skeletons, but Scott Wilkowski’s “infection” of six designer toys totally blows my mind. Wilkowski has been busy putting skulls, skeletons and creepy creatures inside the industry’s favorite designer toys for his new traveling show "Skin Deep". For Skin Deep, he infects Buff Monster's “Buff Monster,” Luke Chueh's “Possessed,” Frank Kozik's “Labbit,” October Toys “Gwin,” Suckadelic's “Sucklord” and Scott Tolleson's “Otis & Otto.”

The show will premiere November 5th at the Designer Con 2011, where all eight artists involved with the project will be on hand! Scott Wilkowski, Buff Monster, Luke Chueh, George and Ayleen Gaspar of October Toys, The Sucklord, Scott Tolleson and Frank Kozik all in one place. Now that’s a signing! There will be a photo opportunity and signing at 3pm at the DKE Toys booth with all attending artists.

“The Mad Doctor” Disney Screen Print by Tom Whalen

Mondo x Sideshow Collectibles Disney Classic Cartoon Series - “The Mad Doctor” Screen Print by Tom Whalen

Today will mark the release of two new prints from Mondo and Sideshow Collectibles in their Disney Classic Cartoon Series by Tom Whalen. The second print is "The Mad Doctor," a 1933 animated short from the Disney vault. To be honest The Blot does not remember this cartoon at all but the print is pretty cool! I love what Whalen did with Pluto’s body and the way he composed the design to show the action was all taking place in Mickey’s dreams.

"The Mad Doctor" by Tom Whalen is a 18”x24” screen print, it has a limited edition run size of 370 pieces and will retail for $45. This classic Disney movie poster goes on sale at the Mondo online store today, Friday, November 4th, at a random time.

Mondo x Sideshow Collectibles Disney Classic Cartoon Series - Pinocchio Screen Print by Tom Whalen

Today we get not one, but two new prints from Mondo and Sideshow Collectibles in their Disney Classic Cartoon Series by Tom Whalen. First up is Pinocchio, which also happens to be one of The Blot’s favorite Disney animated feature films. This 1940 cartoon is truly a timeless classic, and Whalen did an amazing job capturing Pinocchio’s youthful exuberance. I also love the composition of this print and subdued color scheme. This is definitely one print that could look awesome one anyone’s walls.
