Doctor Who Dynamix 9” Vinyl Figures by Big Chief Studios - The Tenth Doctor

Thanks to our friends at Atomic Martians, The Blot recently found out about Big Chief Studios’ upcoming line of Doctor Who Dynamix 9” vinyl figures!!! Needless to say I am super excited about this new toy line and I see a ton of potential here. Big Chief’s Dynamix line will offer unique interpretations of characters from Doctor Who, the world’s longest running sci-fi TV show.

With each regeneration of the Time Lord, a new actor assumes the role of the time travelling Doctor and brings with him a unique portrayal of the character. Dynamix plans to capture the very essence of each actor’s Doctor in dynamic poses as if it was from a moment were frozen in time. The first figure scheduled for release will be the Tenth Doctor as portrayed by David Tennant. Wearing his trademark pinstriped blue suit with flowing trench coat and trainers, the Doctor stands ready for his next time travelling adventure.

These ultra-stylized vinyl figures remind me a lot of Upper Deck’s now defunct All-Star Vinyl line, and I just hope they are as equally well made. It would also help if the figures actually look like the person they are based on (as opposed to UD’s ASV figures which rarely looked like their subjects), but from the images seen here it appears like the inaugural Doctor Who Dynamix figure is spot on! I for one can’t wait to get my hands on one of these!

The High Priest of Toby Vinyl Figure by Gary Baseman

Yesterday, Kidrobot released Gary Baseman’s newest vinyl figure, The High Priest of Toby. The High Priest of Toby is the leader of the secret society of suppressed stories, the orchestrator, the instigator, and the protector of all your dirty little secrets.

One of the most twisted characters to sprout from the great mind of Gary Baseman, this 9” vinyl figure has a limited edition run size of 450 pieces and can be purchased at all Kidrobot stores, Kidrobot.com and select retailers for $100 each.

Mars Attacks! Pop! Sci-Fi Vinyl Figure by Funko

If you haven’t jumped on the Funko bandwagon yet, here’s your chance! Funko is about to release a cute, chunky 3.75” vinyl figure of the Martian from Tim Burton's 1996 movie Mars Attack! I know I keep saying this, but I’m constantly amazed at all of the different property licenses Funko has included in this toy line. They go above and beyond to ensure each figure accurately depicts the character it's based on by giving every toy its own unique sculpt. Take the Martian from Mars Attacks! for instance. It includes a crazy looking enlarged brain encased in a clear glass dome, and comes wearing a turquoise spacesuit with a black blaster.

V for Vendetta Pop! Movies Vinyl Figure by Funko

A few months ago The Blot shared with you the concept art for Funko’s upcoming V for Vendetta Pop! Movies vinyl figure. Well now I’m excited to share with you the final product! While the movie was good, the comic book is amazing and this figure is all that and more! Plus, could this figure’s release be any more appropriate with Guy Fawkes’ face a symbol of the “Occupy” movement? "Remember, remember the 5th of November!"
