First Look: Mini Disney Pop! Vinyl Figure Prototypes

Funko dropped some really interesting photos on the Funko Funatic message board recently. From the photos seen here, it looks like the toy company is developing a line of Mini Disney Pop! vinyl figures. Pretty sweet, don’t you think!?! These look to be 1-2 inches shorter than standard Pop! figures, meaning they’d come in at around 2.5” (but that’s completely a guess here).

In the photos leaked by Funko, you can see the two prototype Mickey Mouse and Maleficent Mini Disney Pop! vinyl figures along with their standard 3.75” and extra large 9” counterparts. These Mini Pop! figures will definitely be a welcome addition to Funko’s ever growing line of affordable pop culture inspired vinyl figures. More details as they become available!

“Classic” Big Kid Vinyl Figure by Johnny Cupcakes

On Wednesday night Johnny Cupcakes finally released to the world their new line of designer vinyl figures and The Blot couldn’t have been more excited!!! I just happened to stumble upon the surprise release and got giddy to see three different Big Kid vinyl figure colorways available: the “Classic” painted Big Kid, a “Blank” unpainted white Big Kid and the NYCC Exclusive Unpainted GID Big Kid. Each is awesome and still available at the Johnny Cupcakes online store, so go have at ‘em!

This is Johnny Cupcakes first entry into the world of toys and they definitely made their presence known! Seeing the JC mascot in a tangible, 3D form is pretty awesome. My only problem is deciding which one to buy. The OG “Classic” Big Kid vinyl figure stands 5.5” tall, features black and white paint and comes custom packaging designed by the folks over at Pilot. The Forest Wanderer Sproglits by Toy Dungeon Studios

The Forest Wanderer Sproglit resin figures stand 3” tall and feature green flocking on an earth-tone body. Due to their elusive nature, a limited edition run of only 10 figures will be made. Suketchi Mama Noir Resin Set by Erick Scarecrow

Today, ESC Toy dropped the second Suketchi Mama 3 piece set of resin figures by Erick Scarecrow. The Suketchi Mama Noir Edition features a black, white, grey and orange color scheme and has a limited edition run size of just 15 pieces. The set includes a 5.75" Suketchi Mama resin figure, a 1.75" Paint Shroom, and a 3" Paddopa sketch pad. I have to say, this might be The Blot's favorite ESC resin figure. I love the concept and each piece really plays off of the other two really nicely. I haven't gotten to see tehse in person but doesn't Suketchi Mama look like she's ready to draw with her pencil hands!?!

My Neighbor Totoro Screen Print by Olly Moss

The Blot was really wavering on blogging about this one. While I love Olly Moss’ work, I’m not into anime so this new Mondo screen print series with legendary Studio Ghibli really means nothing to me. But fans seem to be going crazy for this Olly poster for the classic Hayao Miyazaki film My Neighbor Totoro, so how could I ignore it completely? There are a lot more details in this print than I’m used to in a Moss print, but if Miyazaki’s fans are happy then so am I.

The Mondo x Studio Ghibli Series kicks off today with the My Neighbor Totoro print by Olly Moss. This is a 20”x36” hand numbered screen print, has a limited edition run size of 420 pieces and will retail for $50 each. There is also a Green Variant My Neighbor Totoro screen print that has a limited edition run size of 170 pieces and will retail for $90. This go on sale at a random time today, Friday, December 16th, at the Mondo online store.
