“Mint Chip” Milton Vinyl Figure by Super7

“Mint Chip” Milton Vinyl Figure by Super7

The Blot’s favorite ice cream flavor has always been mint chip, so I got more than a little hungry when I saw Super7 would be releasing a “Mint Chip” Milton. S7’s Kandy Kaiju are awesome 3” soft vinyl figures and this colorway is particularly delicious! Milton, everyone's favorite melting, living, walking ice cream cone is devilishly sweet, and delicious to boot.

Brian Flynn's Mint Chip Milton is cast in brown vinyl with mint-green and chocolate brown sprays, and can be purchased from the Super7 online store for $25.

NYCC 12 Exclusive Meltdown Taoking

New York Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive Meltdown Taoking Vinyl Figure by Super7

For New York Comic-Con 2012, Super7 is bringing back Geof Darrow and Frank Miller’s giant monster Taoking to the convention in an all new colorway! The Blot still hasn’t seen one of these bad boys in person, but they look awesome. Taoking, the signature monster from Darrow and Miller's Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot comic book, has been re-imagined in the style of classic Japanese kaiju toys.

Standing approximately 9" tall and sculpted by Cosmo Liquid, Taoking melts down with terrible rage! Cast in meltdown maroon vinyl with red, yellow, orange and silver sprays, Meltdown Taoking can be purchased exclusively at Super7’s NYCC book for $95 each.

The Glowing Sundown Little Prick glows after sundown, and is always happy to help light your way through the desert. Take him out at night, but not in public! Brian Flynn’s “Glowing Sundown” Little Prick is 4” of glow-in-the-dark vinyl with red, white and pink sprays. Pick one up today at the Super7 online store for $35 each.

Super7 x Super Mario Bros. “Super Mummy Boy” T-Shirt

Super7 x Super Mario Bros. “Super Mummy Boy” T-Shirt

Like most of us, the Super7 crew grew up playing Nintendo and the Mario Bros. franchise. In tribute to the classic NES video game series Super7 has transformed its mascot Mummy Boy into a certain raccoon suited plumber! S7’s Mummy Boy is one of The Blot’s favorite figures, and this t-shirt is all kinds perfect. It’s the perfect shirt for when you go back down the warp pipe to your favorite magical mushroom kingdom.

“Super Mummy Boy” by Super7 comes printed on a blue t-shirt in sizes S-XXL, and can be purchased from the Super7 online store for $30 each.

Astro Fur 3.0 T-Shirt by Fur Face Boy

Astro Fur 3.0 T-Shirt by Fur Face Boy

For the past few months Ha of Fur Face Boy has really changed up his game. Instead of releasing planned t-shirt collections, he’s been randomly dropping previously unannounced limited edition designs through the FFB online store. These t-shirt designs have tied into everything from hit summer movies to the 2012 London Olympics, but for yesterday’s design Ha went old school. Back when Fur Face Boy first launched in 2009, Ha released a very low run of the original Astro Fur tee based on the hit Japanese manga series Astro Boy. Then last year for FFB Series 6, he released a second version of the design dubbed “Astro Fur 2.0”. Well, Ha is bringing back Astro Fur once again, but this time with a galactic twist!

Astro Fur 3.0 by Fur Face Boy continues with 2.0’s dissected theme, but surrounds our fur faced hero in a space landscape featuring a crazy array of psychedelic colors. Astro Fur 3.0 has a limited edition run size of only 20 pieces and retails for $27.99 at the Fur Face Boy online store. If you want to get your hand on this trippy tee act fast, because sizes are limited and many have already sold out.

Threadless Superman T-Shirt “Super Embarrassment”

Threadless Superman T-Shirt “Super Embarrassment”

Super Embarrassment by Kerry Callen

The Blot’s a sucker for a really good comic book spoof design, so of course this new Superman t-shirt from Threadless is right up my alley! “Super Embarrassment” poses the question what happens when Superman forgets he’s already in his trusty blue pjs and red undies. Although, I’m pretty sure Superman’s costume is a lot harder to rip than is portrayed in the image above. What I really like about this design is its retro feel. I miss those old school speech balloons and thought bubbles, and really dig the weathered effect the artist gave the image making it look and feel like an old DC comic book.

The Threadless Superman t-shirt “Super Embarrassment” comes printed on light blue t-shirt (sizes S-2XL) and is currently available for purchase at Threadless.com for $20.

First Look: PickleBaby Resin Figure by Leecifer

First Look PickleBaby Resin Figures by Leecifer

Next month Leecifer will be debuting his brand new resin figure, PickleBaby! This new figure from Leecifer is pretty crazy looking, but it does a great job showing off his unique art style. PickleBaby came from five hundred gazillion light years away to give you a hug, and perhaps an anal probe! Standing 8.25" tall with magnetic articulation at the arms and neck, the injured alien fashioned a body out of the first Earthly organic matter he came in contact…a cucumber and the bones of the hapless farmer buried there.

Dragatomi presents “Bat Butts and Goat Guts” Phantasmagorical Psychosis by Paul Kaiju and Leecifer

Maybe it’s just me, but a figure this wrong just feels so, so right! The Blot’s really excited about PickleBaby’s use of magnets for articulation, and can’t wait to see one of these new resin figures up close. Your first opportunity to purchase a PickleBaby will be at Leecifer’s joint art show with Paul Kaiju entitled “Bat Butts and Goat Guts” at Dragatomi on Sunday, October 13th. The show will include a Dragatomi exclusive hand painted run of PickleBabies plus a number of one-offs perfect for the Halloween season.

Dredd 3D Screen Print by Jock

Dredd 3D Screen Print by Jock

Last weekend at Fantastic Fest, Mondo released this epic Dredd 3D screen print by Jock in honor of the film’s screening at Alamo’s weekend movie festival. I haven’t seen Dredd 3D yet, but I hear it’s pretty good. Hopefully there will be some 2D screenings of the movie still playing by the time I make it to my local theater next week. The Blot’s always been a huge fan of Jock’s comic book artwork, and his style fits perfectly with the aesthetic of Judge Dredd. This print is honestly pretty perfect, and I almost wish Jock had used a similar design for his The Dark Knight Rises poster.

Dredd 3D by Jock is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. It has a limited edition run size of 275 pieces, and can be purchased at the Mondo online store tomorrow, Thursday, September 27th, at a random time for $45 each.

Johnny Cupcakes 2012 Suitcase Tour “Cupcakes From The Crypt” Exclusives - Vampire Big Kid

On Friday, September 28th, Johnny Cupcakes embarks on his 2012 Coffin Tour “Cupcakes From The Crypt”. Johnny Cupcakes and his team will be traveling around the US in a van meeting fans and selling exclusive Halloween themed t-shirts, hoodies, hats, posters, stickers and pins. Throughout the week Johnny has been unveiling some of his 2012 Suitcase Tour Exclusives and they look pretty awesome! I like how they’ve stuck with so many trademark JC designs but given them a Halloween twist. It’s basically combination of JC’s 2010 “Back to the Basics” tour combined with his “Something in the Cupcake Mix” series.

Johnny Cupcakes 2012 Suitcase Tour “Cupcakes From The Crypt” Exclusives - Halloween Stickers

Johnny Cupcakes 2012 Suitcase Tour “Cupcakes From The Crypt” Exclusives - Masks

So far, Johnny Cupcakes has unveiled the following designs: Vampire Big Kid, a Frankenstein Crossbones, Skeleton Peace Hand, Masks, Headless Horseman, Wolfman Biker and a glow in the dark Web Crossbones Hoodie. All five designs are great, and I especially love the Dracula Big Kid. My second favorite design is probably “Masks”, which includes Zombie Johnny Cupcakes, Cupcake and Crossbones, and Big Kid masks along classic Halloween monsters like a mummy, wolfman and a skeleton.

DCon 2012 Exclusive The MAXXakuri by Nebulon5

Designer Con 2012 Exclusive The MAXXakuri Custom Vinyl Figure Series by Nebulon5

For Designer Con 2012, Nebulon5 has created a killer set of The Maxxakuri custom figures. Utilizing Grody Shogun’s Karakuri, this purple and yellow color scheme pays tribute to one of the coolest comic book characters ever…Sam Kieth’s The Maxx! Everyone who grew up in the 90’s either read Kieth’s hit comic book series from Image or watched the animated television series on MTV (or, most likely, did both). The Blot loves comic book inspired colorways, and Neb did a fantastic job recreating The Maxx’ look and feel on these 4” Karas. I’ve got a sinking suspicious these are going to go quickly at DCon.

The Designer Con 2012 Exclusive The MAXXakuri by Nebulon5 has a limited edition run size of just 5 pieces, and will be sold exclusively at Spanky Stokes’ DCon booth.

NYCC 12 Exclusive Ivory Edition Misfortune Cat by Chris Ryniak

The New York Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive Ivory Edition Misfortune Cat was created by Ferg and is based on a custom Misfortune Cat designed by Chris Ryniak back in 2010. The Blot is kind of amazed by this Misfortune Cat colorway, it seriously looks like real ivory! Plus that lone blue eye really stands out against the figure’s off-white body.

The New York Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive Ivory Edition Misfortune Cat 4” vinyl figure has a limited edition run size of just 100 pieces, and can be purchased at the myplasticheart NYCC booth #3313 for $55 each. Tomorrow Max Toy Co will be releasing the first painted version of Jay222’s Lady Vengeance vinyl figure! Each Lady Vengeance comes hand painted by Jay222, and features dry brushed gold over a medium blue vinyl with red airbrush and white and red details. The Blot loves how the Jay222’s paint job really brings out all of the figures intricate and gory details!

This is the second Lady Vengeance colorway released, and if the Unpainted Blue LV is any indication you will definitely want to pick up one of these scary looking figures immediately upon release. That first Lady Vengeance sold out extremely quickly. Pick one up this Wednesday, September 26th, at the Max Toy Co online store.

Popcorns Vinylmation Series 1 by Disney

Popcorns Vinylmation Series 1 by Disney - Chernabog, Dumbo, Kermit the Frog, Chip & Dale, Jack Skellington, Goofy, Sulley & Mickey Mouse Vinyl Figures

Disney has finally unveiled its complete line-up of its new Popcorns Vinylmation Series 1 and it’s basically a who’s who of Disney animation! For its first wave of figures, this fun and quirky toy line includes Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Chip and Dale, Dumbo, Kermit the Frog, Sulley, Jack Skellington, and the villainous Chernabog. It’s really got a little something for everyone, don’t you think? The only negative I see to this line is it’s an open edition series, meaning none of the figures in Series 1 are limited edition. Regardless, The Blot definitely wants to get my hands on a couple of these vinyl figures, especially Kermit!

Popcorns Series 1 goes on sale this Friday, September 28th, on D-Street in Disneyland and Disney World, and then one week later at the Disney online store on Friday, October 5th for $24.95 each.

Edward Scissorhands Pop! Movies Vinyl Figure by Funko

Edward Scissorhands, one of the The Blot’s favorite movies, is finally getting the vinyl figure treatment thanks to Funko! The Edward Scissorhands Pop! Movies vinyl figure is pretty sick, it’s amazing how many details Funko included on a 3.75” figure. But what really puts this figure over the top is its eyes. In Edward Scissorhands Johnny Depp conveyed so much emotion through just his eyes, and Funko did a great job recreating that sorrow and isolation in this figure.

The Edward Scissorhands Pop! Movie vinyl figure feature one point of articulation, stands 3.75” tall and come packaged in a full color displayable window box. This figure is currently available in stores everywhere for just $9.99.

The Walking Dead Television Series 2 Action Figures by McFarlane Toys

The Walking Dead Television Series 2 by McFarlane Toys - Deputy Rick Grimes & Shane Walsh Action Figures

While The Blot’s known about McFarlane ToysThe Walking Dead Television Series 2 for almost a year, I’ve been waiting to write a post until they released some decent pictures of the figures. While I was pretty excited for the Shane Walsh figure, after seeing Series 2 I can’t believe McFarlane Toys is releasing these figures at all. TWD TV Series 1 looks spot on, but these Rick Grimes and Shane figures look nothing like the actors who portrayed them on the television show, and did we really need a 2nd Rick figure so soon? How did this series make such a complete 180?

The Walking Dead Television Series 2 by McFarlane Toys - Well Zombie, RV Zombie & Bicycle Girl Zombie Action Figures

Transforming Collections Kickstarter Project by Philip Reed

Transforming Collections Toy Reference Book Kickstarter Project by Philip Reed

Fellow toy blogger Philip Reed (of Battlegrip.com) has launched what The Blot thinks is a very cool Kickstarter project! He’s putting together the first reference book on the world of unofficial Transformers toys and accessories. Fans of Transformers already know this, but there’s a huge market of unlicensed Transformers “inspired” toys and accessories. Now these aren’t bootlegs or kitbashed, they’re actually manufactured toys (many of them high end and expensive) based on established Transformers characters from the cartoons, comics and toy lines. As Phil explains on his Kickstarter page, “since the launch of battlegrip.com I have been drawn into this fascinating world, spending thousands of dollars to add these toys to my collection…yet many fans are unaware this world even exists.”

The Transforming Collections toy reference book is a 24 page 7.5"x7.5" saddle-stitched introduction to these unofficial toys. Filled with detailed high-resolution color photos, Transforming Collections takes what Phil has learned about this amazing world in the past four years and shares it with you in a handy format you'll reach for again and again. The KS project has already well surpassed its goal and has reached many of the stretch goals Philip set for the book, so it's definitely being produced. But if you want to guarantee you get one of these awesome books to add to your bookshelf then head over to the Transforming Collections Kickstarter project page and back it today! For as little as $15 you can secure a copy, but there’s only 9 days to go so be sure you head over to KS this week.

NYCC 2012 Exclusive Aardman Batman Action Figure

New York Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive Aardman Batman Action Figure by DC Collectibles

The Blot can honestly say this is one release I never saw coming. DC Collectibles is releasing a new Aardman style Batman action figure at New York Comic-Con 2012 based on the hilarious DC Nation stop-motion animated shorts that have been running on the Cartoon Network this past year during DC Comics' block of programming. Designed by Rich Webber and sculpted by Phil Ramirez, the Aardman Batman action figure is a spot on replica of the figures used to make the DC Nation shorts. And if you think this little Batman figure looks like something out of a Wallace and Gromit cartoon, you’d be right! Aardman Animations is the same British animation studios that created the Wallace and Gromit series.

Monster Toytem Stackable Vinyl Toy Set by Gary Ham

Monster Toytem Stackable Vinyl Toy Set by Gary Ham

Gary Ham has put the Monster Toytem, his newest self produced vinyl figure, up for pre-sale at his online store, and it’s awesome! The Monster Toytem is a stackable and interchangeable 7 piece vinyl toy set that allows you to combine all seven 2" figures into a monsterous 14" totem. What The Blot loves about this figure is how outside of the box it is. Yes there have been stackable blind box toys in the past, but I would rather buy a set with seven completely different pieces than the same figure over and over with slightly different colors. The Monster Toytem is just another example what can be done in the designer art toy world with a little outside the box thinking!

The Monster Toytem stackable vinyl toy set by Gary Ham is currently available for presale at Gary’s online store for $75 (the toy is scheduled to begin shipping in October). In the meantime, check out this awesome Monster Toytem video by Les83Machines with music from Freakstore!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Pop! Television Series 1 by Funko - White Ranger, Red Ranger & Pink Ranger Vinyl Figures

Has it really been almost 20 years since the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers first appeared on US television sets? The Blot can still remember watching that first season back in 1993. There was definitely nothing like it on American TV, and I definitely didn’t expect it to still be on the air 19 years later. I know MMPR fandom is as strong as ever, especially for those that have grown up with the series, so it was pretty cool to learn that Funko would be releasing a new line of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Pop! Television vinyl figures. MMPR Pop! Series 1 includes the original White Ranger, Red Ranger and Pink Ranger.

In honor of the 30th Anniversary of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Funko has teamed up with Mattel to produce a very cool line of MOTU Wacky Wobbler bobble heads! The Blot’s not typically into bobble heads, but these He-Man Wacky Wobblers look awesome. For their first Masters of the Universe release, Funko has created bobble heads of He-Man, Skeletor, Orko and Beast Man. I was a big MOTU fan as a little kid, and seeing these brings back some fond memories! Hopefully this is just the first wave of Masters of the Universe Wacky Wobblers because there are so many great, kooky characters that would like great as bobble heads (or Pop!s).

Threadless Doctor Who T-Shirt “Come Away With Me”

Come Away With Me by Karen Hallion

While “Come Away With Me” isn’t my favorite Doctor Who inspired design, heck it’s not even my favorite Threadless Doctor Who t-shirt, that didn’t stop me from ordering one of these tees from Threadless as soon as it was released yesterday. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a good Doctor Who design! Slap the TARDIS pretty much in any location and you’ve got a killer tee.

The Doctor Who t-shirt “Come Away With Me” comes printed on light blue t-shirt (sizes S-2XL) and is currently available for purchase at Threadless.com for $20.

The Chardmonster Print Series by Huck Gee - Blur

Huck Gee has released his second series of square prints, this time featuring his newest creation The Chardmonster! This series of 3 prints depict the Chardmonster in his native environment, out in the wild doing what the Chardmonster does best. The Blot loves all of the lush environments Huck comes up with, and his characters always look interesting even when doing mundane things like sitting or napping.

The Chardmonster Print Series by Huck Gee - Gone

Each 10”x10” The Chardmonster print by Huck Gee is printed on fine art watercolor paper (225gs), and comes signed, numbered and gold embossed by the artist. Each print has a limited edition run size of 100 pieces each, and can be purchased at the Huck Gee online store for just $30 per print.

The Chardmonster Print Series by Huck Gee - Trap

"Gather round close. Pull up your cloaks. Stoke the fire. Raise a toast. Are the tales true? Here, here in these woods? With bottles of mischief and magical goods! He shuffles, he stumbles, he watches and waits. He lurks and he drinks and he'll keep us up late. Keep away! Keep away! Nobody's safe! The Chardmo, the Chardmo, the Chardmonster's here!" - said nobody, never.

Old Man Logan Custom Wolverine Munny by David Kraig

Old Man Logan Custom Wolverine Munny Vinyl Figure by David Kraig

The Blot just found out about another killer super hero custom vinyl figure, this time by artist David Kraig! Created for the Vinyl Thoughts 3 custom show, Old Man Logan is a future version of Marvel’s Wolverine based on the popular 2008 story by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven. Made from a 7” Munny with super sculpey and acrylic paints, Old Man Logan looks pretty spot on to the character’s look in the comic book series. What really makes this Wolverine Custom Munny pretty sick is David used real stainless steel for his claws!!! How great is that?

Check out more of David Kraig’s work at his website and online store.
