Splurrt x Rampage Toys Uglier Unicorns

Is the Ugly Unicorn crazy, angry or extra hungry for cupcakes? Who knows, but one thing is for sure, he's uglier than ever! Rampage Toys has teamed up with Splurrt for a very special Ugly Unicorn release. Best known for his Cadaver Kid and Diggler vinyl figures, Splurrt has taken the Ugly Unicorn to the next level with this small run of 10 “Uglier Unicorns.” Splurrt added a sculpted tongue and pupils on every figure by hand with epoxy resin, so every figure has a unique expression.

The Rampage Toys x Splurrt Uglier Unicorns will retail for $50 each, and go on sale at Splurrt’s online store this Sunday, February 26th, at 1pm EST.

[rich] of UME Toys is always coming up with the cutest little creatures, and Pembelton Stranglefoot is one of his best! It sounds like I’m not the only one who thinks that, as fans from around the globe have been contacting [rich] wanting to know how they can get their hands on one. Because of all the interest, [rich] wanted to do something special for his fans, so he’s decided to do a general release where he will make unique, made-to-order one of a kind Pembeltons for any collector who contacts him.

Star Wars x Super7 T-Shirt Collection Series 1 by Brian Flynn

Earlier this week Super7 announced its newest collaboration with Lucasfilm, a line of Star Wars designer t-shirts! Star Wars x Super7 Collection Series 1 includes three designs, “Star Wars Arcade,” “AT-AT Boombox” and “Camo Walker,” all designed by Super7 found Brian Flynn. Of the three designs my favorite is definitely “Star Wars Arcade” because of the nostalgic factor. I freaking loved that game as a kid! If you can’t tell, it’s basically a recreated screencap from the 1983 Atari game. From a design standpoint, the coolest tee is the “Camo Walker,” which features an AT-ST Walker with a camouflage pattern of the forest of Endor (complete with speeder bike silhouettes) contained within.

Normally The Blot would be super excited about this release. I love Super7 and I love Star Wars, so this has to be good right? But for some reason these first three designs just don’t do it for me. There are so many Star Wars t-shirts hitting the market these days you’ve really got to come up with something unique to get fans excited. I also think the plethora of “a t-shirt a day” websites has spoiled us. Their unlicensed designs have really pushed the boundaries of t-shirt designs and mash-ups. This just feels like a missed opportunity.

All three Star Wars x Super7 Collection Series 1 t-shirts go on sale next Thursday, March 1st, at the Super7 online store. Each shirt comes in sizes S-2XL and will retail for $25 each.
