Birro the Clown 3" Dunny by Chauskoskis

Wow, talk about an awesome surprise! Today Kidrobot secretly released on its website the Birro the Clown 3” Dunny by Walter “Chauskoskis” Jacott seen here, a figure The Blot didn’t even know was in production. This production figure is inspired by a series of custom Birro the Clowns Walter created for the Most Wanted: Artist Series 2, a custom Dunny project curated by several Kidrobot Forums members, featuring some of the most sought after up-and-coming artists and customizers from around the globe. I can’t think of the last time Kidrobot released an original design as a one-off 3” release, but here’s hoping this trend continues! Especially if it means Kidrobot will finally start working with popular artists/customizers like the talented Chauskoskis.

The Amazing Spider-Man Movie Pop! Marvel Vinyl Figure Bobble Head

Summer 2012 is looking to be an important time for the comic book industry with three HUGE films coming out. It’s also looking to be a big summer for Funko who will be releasing licensed figures for all three movies (The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man). Without a doubt the film getting the least hype of the 3 is Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man. It’s definitely the movie fans were clamoring for the least, but so far The Blot thinks the trailers look really good. I’m also really digging Spider-Man’s new costume with the gold eyes. It’s a nice, subtle change for sure.

John Carter Disney Vinylmation Series

Check out Disney’s awesome new John Carter Vinylmaton Series (designed by Thomas Scott) set to be released this fall in conjunction with the live action movie of the same name. The series will include four characters in all: John Carter, Princess Dejah Thoris, Tars Tarkas and a Barsoomian Great White Ape. I love how detailed each figure is, and can’t wait to see how they incorporated the extra set of arms on Tars Tarkas and the Barsoomian Great White Ape.

John Carter actually debuts this weekend and The Blot’s pretty excited to see it! Since I’ve never read any of the books in Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom series I really only know the basics of John Carter’s story. But sometimes that’s actually a good thing as I can go into the movie blind.

The John Carter Disney Vinylmation Series will be packaged in open window boxes and sold individually starting this fall at all Disney Parks.

Sons of Anarchy Screen Print by Phantom City Creative

Sons of Anarchy, one of The Blot’s all time favorite shows, is finally getting the screen print treatment courtesy of Gallery1988 and Phantom City Creative! PaleyFest is taking place as I type this in LA and once again the organization asked G1988 to create limited edition screen prints for each night of the event. You see, every year the Paley Center For Media in Los Angeles produces almost two weeks of events where the cast and crew of your favorite television shows get together to talk about the show and sometimes even premiere new episodes.

There were seven screen prints created this year, but hands down my favorite is this awesome SOA print by Phantom City Creative. It was Sons of Anarchy’s turn last night at PalyFest and Gallery1988 dropped these awesome prints featuring the show’s entire cast. The print has a limited edition run size of 300 pieces and will retail for $35 each. Any remaining prints from last night’s show will go on sale sometime today at Gallery1988's online store.
