Duck Dodgers in the 24th and a Half Century Screen Print by Tom Whalen

Duck Dodgers in the 24th and a Half Century Screen Print by Tom Whalen

How awesome is this Duck Dodgers in the 24 and a Half Century screen print by Tom Whalen!?! It’s just another amazing print from the grand opening of Mondo’s new gallery in Austin, TX that The Blot would love to get his hands on, but probably never will. Duck Dodgers in the 24 and a Half Century was one of my favorite Warner Bros. Merrie Melodies cartoons as a kid. This spoof of Buck Rogers featuring the Looney Tunes gang (primarily Daffy Duck and Porky Pig) is perfect in every way and is credited as the official coming out party of Marvin the Martian. It’s hard to believe the first Duck Dodgers cartoon came out 60 years ago! As a kid, I honestly thought it was new.

Duck Dodgers in the 24th and a Half Century by Tom Whalen is an 18”x24” 7 color screen print on off-white paper and has a limited edition run size of 320 pieces. It is my understanding that these sold out on opening night, but you never know!

Don’t Forget: “Vote Vampires” on Threadless!

Super Tuesday has come and gone, but it’s not too late to support your favorite undead monster in Threadless’ own special election. While each Threadless candidate brings something unique to the table (Vampires, Zombies, Robots, Ninjas and Pandas), let’s be honest…no one is as smooth and debonair as a Vampire!

This is just a friendly reminder about Threadless2012 Election Contest that runs all this month. Threadless has given each candidate its own election themed design, and the candidate t-shirt with the most sales is deemed the winner. The Blot’s repping Vampire Nation, so head over to Threadless today and pick up the “Vote Vampires” t-shirt (available for a limited time). Each tee comes printed on a blood red t-shirt and is available for purchase at Threadless.com for $20. The shirt comes in both guys and girls styles, sizes S-2XL.

New Adam WarRock Album “You Dare Call That Thing Human?!?”

You Dare Call That Thing Human?!? Album Cover by Adam WarRock

Last night The Blot had the privilege to see Adam WarRock, the internet’s foremost comic book rapper, in concert as part of the VS. Tour with Random aka Mega Ran. After trying to see Adam for almost a year, I’ve now seen him live three times in the past twelve months! Pretty crazy, huh? WarRock puts on an amazing show and I highly recommend seeing Adam in concert if he visits your city.

This was the first live show I’d seen since You Dare Call That Thing Human?!?, Adam’s second full length album, had been released. Adam describes this release as “an exploration of humanity amidst three months on the road,” but I think it’s so much more than just that. It really highlights Adam’s growth as both a writer and performer, and you can really see how touring for the past year has helped him shape his craft. But what’s really great about You Dare Call That Thing Human?!? are the more serious/personal songs. Songs like “I Kill Giants” allow fans a deeper insight into Adam’s life while he shows off his serious MC skills. It also doesn’t hurt that track 5 is entitled “Booster Gold”!!

You Dare Call That Thing Human?!? is out now on iTunes, Amazon and Bandcamp for $10 or less! Download it today and let the nerdcore revolution begin.
