The Shakin' N Bakin' T-Shirt Series Pt 1 by Grits Apparel

The Shakin' N Bakin' T-Shirt Series Pt 1 by Grits Apparel

Houston’s Grits Apparel is back with an all new series of killer t-shirt designs! The Blot’s been anxiously awaiting a new release from my buddy Levi, and his new Shankin’ N Bakin’ series has definitely proven to be well worth the wait. There’s four brand new designs, plus an all new colorway of the classic Grits Logo tee. I’m especially digging all of the different type designs Levi’s incorporated in this release.

Grits is doing something a little bit different with this release. Because Grits is doing something a little bit different with this release. Because their shirts typically sell out so quickly, they’ve decided to make each t-shirt in its Shakin’ N Bakin’ Series available for pre-order. This way you can ensure you get the designs you want in the sizes you need before production is complete.

That Thing Ate My Quarter Resin Figure by Motorbot

That Thing Ate My Quarter Black Edition Resin Figure by Motorbot

Last night the Vinyl Thoughts 2 custom toy show took place in Dallas, Texas and Motorbot was all over the show. Besides creating two awesome Piranha Plant custom Munnnys, he also designed an all new figure entitled “That Thing Ate My Quarter!” The Blot loves everything about this video game themed figure…from the vinyl decals on the side to the figure’s miniature joystick and button. It’s like Motorbot literally shrunk an old school video game machine from the ‘80s.

Vinyl Thoughts 2 Exclusive That Thing Ate My Quarter Glow in the Dark Edition Resin Figure by Motorbot

Two colorways of That Thing Ate My Quarter were released yesterday, a Vinyl Thoughts 2 Exclusive GID Version, which could only be purchased at last night’s show, and a Black Edition that is currently available for purchase at the Deadbear Studios online store for just $20! Each figure stands 2” tall and comes bagged with a header card. Only a few of each colorway were produced, so if you can get your hands on one make sure you pull the trigger ASAP!

Buddha Fett Resin Figures by Killer Bootlegs

Buddha Fett Resin Figures by Killer Bootlegs

When The Blot first heard about the new Buddha Fett resin figure by Peter Goral of Killer Bootlegs (Facebook, Twitter) I knew instantly I had to have one! While there are similar figures being produced, to me this is the best of the bunch. I love how seamlessly Peter was able to merge the Boba Fett head with a Buddha body to create what looks like an original sculpt. But don’t let that fool you, this is a true bootlegged figure!

Buddha Fett Resin Figure by Killer Bootlegs and Kidrobot Dunnys by Amanda Visell

Peter just recently opened the official Killer Botlegs online store, and I made my purchase instantly. At the time I wasn’t even sure how tall his Buddha Fett figures were. But as you can see from the photo above with two 3” Dunnys, it’s about 2” tall. While I’ve never met Peter, I’ve gotten the opportunity to chat with him through e-mail a few times, and I get the feeling this Buddha Fett figure is a great representation of his artistic style. For some reason it seems like artists are moving away from kitbashing figures to create new bootlegs, but when it’s done right, like it is here, the results are bind blowing.

Buddha Fett & Space Fuck Resin Figures by Killer Bootlegs

You can pick up a Buddha Fett ($15) and some other really cool Star Wars bootleg resin figures from Killer Bootleg’s new online store. While the Space Fuck seen above is not currently for sale, I’ve got a feeling if you shoot Peter an email he may be able to hook you up!
