Threadless Star Wars x Alice in Wonderland T-Shirt “Imitated Caterpillar”

These past few weeks Threadless has done an amazing job releasing pop culture inspired designs, and its latest might just be my favorite of the bunch! “Imitated Caterpillar” depicts a scene from Disney’s animated classic Alice in Wonderland, but with a twist! AiW’s Caterpillar has been replaced with another popular slug like creature, Star Wars’ Jabba the Hutt. The minute I saw this Star Wars x Alice in Wonderland mash-up I knew I had to have it, and that’s the second Threadless t-shirt that’s happened with in the past few weeks. The artist did a great job seamlessly blending these two iconic characters into a design where both look natural in this strange pairing.

The Star Wars x Alice in Wonderland mash-up t-shirt “Imitated Caterpillar” comes printed on a leaf green t-shirt and is currently available for purchase at Threadless.com for $20. The shirt comes in both guys and girls styles, sizes S-2XL.

Batman 11” Vinyl Invaders Robot by Funko

The second Vinyl Invaders Robot by Funko has been announced, and this time it’s DC’s Dark Knight, Batman! I’m more than a little surprised Funko didn’t lead off its newest toy line with Batman instead of Gene Simmons of Kiss. It seems like utilizing the broad marketing power of a DC Comics super hero is a much better way to introduce a new toy platform than an aging rocker. But what do I know!?!

Inspired by Japanese super-mecha and super shogun figures from the 1960s, these 11” Vinyl Invaders robots come dressed in Batman’s classic blue and gray outfit, feature two points of articulation and are packaged in a full color window box. The Batman Robot is scheduled to go on sale July 2012 and can be pre-order from Entertainment Earth here for just $35.99.

Johnny Cupcakes Animal Kingdom T-Shirt Collection

Last weekend Johnny Cupcakes released another batch of t-shirts, this time featuring whimsical animal themed designs. The Blot loves variations of the classic Johnny Cupcakes Crossbones logo, and the Animal Kingdom Collection has two fun designs, a leopard print Crossbones tee and a women’s only ladybug Crossbones tee. There’s also a rare two sided design featuring a hive of honey bees, which is great since honey is my personal favorite condiment. Last but not least is the “Travel In Herds” t-shirt featuring a cupcake loving elephant.

While The Blot’s not into wearing animal t-shirts, I can appreciate the fact that Johnny Cupcakes is trying something new and enjoy seeing themes adopted for their mini-releases.
