Johnny Cupcakes Pop Culture T-Shirts

Last weekend Johnny Cupcakes released a new batch of t-shirts that had The Blot written all over them! All three designs were influenced heavily by pop culture, two are based on classic movies and one pays tribute to the greatest punk rock band of all time. Can you guess what they are!?!

I keep going back and forth on which of these designs I like the most, but I starting to think it’s The Wizard of Oz inspired “Bakers of Oz” tee. I just love the simple portrait of a winged monkey and its striking use of color. The Karate Kid inspired “Crane Kick” is also pretty solid, with the JC crew replacing Daniel-san with a portly baker. And then there’s “Lets Bake,” which is based on The Ramones’ log (which in turn is based on the seal of the President of the United States). I have to imagine this is definitely going to be the most popular of the three designs.

Copter Boy Custom Munny by Huck Gee

Huck Gee just unveiled Copter Boy, his newest custom Munny, and it is seriously freaking awesome! It also looks like the start of a brand new world more fascinating than the last. What kind of wonderful characters will we meet and adventures will we go on during our trip through Huck’s Three Wars? Only time will tell!

Long before there was the now legendary Hotaru Copter Squad there was simply "Copter Boy" who, with his sister's help, introduced a revolutionary and last minute innovation that turned out to be pivotal in the battle for Mount Shirokuri. The siblings, strapped into their magical, flying contraptions, rained fire down on the enemy, spreading fear and breaking ranks wherever they flew. The tale of Whiskers the Wizard's bumbling stablehands and their preposterous flying experiments turning the tide of that battle is an unbelievable yet jovial chapter in the history of The Three Wars.

Each Copter Boy custom Munny comes signed and numbered by the artist, includes all of the accessories show here, and will be packaged in a padded, hand assembled and laser etched wooden box. 10 Copter Boys were created in all, with each figure retailing for $875. Thor The Avengers Screen Print by Martin Ansin

The sixth print in Mondo’s The Avengers Screen Print Series features goes on sale today and features Marvel's Norse god, Thor! This print by Martin Ansin is definitely The Blot’s favorite of the series. He does an amazing job capturing the fury of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, and the crazy looking lightning bolts give the poster a very unique, retro vibe. This is definitely a print I could see hanging in my house one day. 

There will be seven posters produced in all for Mondo’s The Avengers screen print series, one for each member of the team and one for the movie itself. Thor by Martin Ansin is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print with a limited edition run size of 395 pieces. The print will retail for $45 and go on sale at a random time on today, Friday, April 27th, at the Mondo online store. Mondo is also releasing a GID Variant of Ansin’s Thor print, which has a limited edition run size of 120 prints and will retail for $75.

Iron Man The Avengers Screen Print by Kevin Tong

The fifth print in Mondo’s The Avengers Screen Print Series features goes on sale today and features the film’s star, Iron Man. The Blot’s never been a huge Iron Man fan, but this print by Kevin Tong is freaking amazing! I pretty much love everything about it. Mondo has done a killer job matching up each Marvel super hero with an artist whose style matches their look.

There will be seven posters produced in all for Mondo’s The Avengers screen print series, one for each member of the team and one for the movie itself.
