New Era x Hasbro Battleship Hat Collection

This Friday, May 18th, marks the world premiere of Battleship, the first in a new crop of films based on popular Hasbro board games. To commemorate the movie’s premiere, New Era released a new series of Battleship Crew hats available exclusively at NewEraCap.com and New Era Flagship stores. What’s really cool about this release is variants of these caps were actually supplied by New Era and Hasbro to the cast and crew of Battleship during its production!

The Battleship Collection includes two 59FIFTIES fitted hats. The first is the navy “Battleship Crew Series,” which is directly inspired by the uniforms of navy officers, utilizing melton wool fabric and a custom Battleship naval patch as the primary logo. Completing the fitted hat is a hi-res image from the movie on its undervisor. The second fitted hat is the black “Battleship Aliens Crew,” which is inspired by the extraterrestrial enemy that is encountered in the movie. The primary logo is the official movie logo in a red “alien” color, and the undervisor features a different hi-res image from the movie.

SDCC 2012 Exclusive Doctor Who Original TARDIS Bobble Head with Sound

Bif Bang Pow! and Entertainment Earth are teaming together once again to release an awesome line of San Diego Comic-Con 2012 exclusives. The Blot’s favorite is this 6.75” Doctor Who Original TARDIS bobble head with real working sounds! If this looks familiar, it’s because they released a similar bobble head last year (seen here). While that release was blue, this version is based on the classic black and white Doctor Who series from the 1950s. Because of that, the Doctor Who Original TARDIS bobble head is black (instead of blue) with a monotone color scheme tie in with the original television show.

While everyone is calling this a bobble head, in reality the entire TARDIS shakes. Even better, the figure plays Doctor Who’s signature materialize and dematerialize sounds! This one-of-a-kind TARDIS, which stands for Time And Relative Dimension In Space, also features a remarkable Doctor Who-themed base with a button to activate the sound.

Mattel and its Matty Collector website are teaming up with DC Comics this summer to release a very special San Diego Comic-Con 2012 exclusive, which spotlights the two companies’ popular female characters. The SDCC 2012 Exclusive Polly Pocket DC Comics Villains three figure set features Polly Pocket and her friends Lila and Lea dressed as their favorite DC Comics villains: Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. This definitely takes cosplay to the next level, wouldn’t you say?

Resin is King Blind Box Series 1

When The Blot first heard about this series organized by Tenacious Toys and Brian Ahlbeck (aka Lysol), I got really excited. Resin definitely seems to be the future of designer art toys, and so it was only a matter of time until we got our very first resin blind box series! Resin is King Series 1 includes seven brand new 3” resin figures by seven talented artist: Motorbot, Jay222, Matt A*, Brian Ahlbeck (of Dead Hand Toys), Dave Bondi, Rich Page (of Ume Toys), and Bad Applez Inc (NEMO and OsirisOrion).

Just like the majority of resin figures out there, each piece is cast and painted by hand. Because of this, no two pieces will be identical. And remember the picture above only showcases one of the many colorways for each sculpt. Each Resin is King blind boxes will retail for $25, which includes one random figure, a ratio card and a sticker. There will also be one Golden Ticket randomly inserted into one of the 40 blind boxes in this series, which can be redeemed for a 7" Teuth resin figure by Brian Ahlbeck!
