Last weekend at New York Comic Con 2014, DC Comics and the United States Postal Service unveiled the new Batman 75 stamp set. Showcasing eight unique designs in a pane of 20 stamps, this new release from the U.S. Postal Service celebrates the 75th anniversary of DC Comics’ Dark Knight. This commemorative stamp set includes four versions of the iconic super hero, each from a different era of comic book history. In addition, the sheet includes four circular stamps featuring different incarnations of the Batman logo.
The background illustration features a silhouette of Batman standing on a bridge with the skyline of Gotham City looming above him (designed by art director Greg Breeding). The Batman logo stamps are integrated into the background image and made to look like different versions of the Bat-Signal, the spotlight Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon sent into the night sky to summon Batman.
