While many pop culture conventions around the country have started to ignore the comic book industry, Houston’s very own Comicpalooza still realizes you can’t be a comic-con without comics! For this weekend’s event, Comicpalooza has invited some truly iconic comic book artists and writers as featured guests of Texas’ largest pop culture convention. Along with legendary creator Stan “The Man” Lee, Comicpalooza welcomes superstar creators Walt and Louise Simonson, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman, and Bone creator Jeff Smith! As if that wasn’t enough, Comicpalooza is also bringing in two of The Blot’s all-time favorite comic book writers, Peter David and J.M. DeMatteis!
But that’s not all! This weekend will also feature legendary comic book artists like Simon Bisley, co-creator of the New Mutants, Bob McLeod, and Greg Horn. Throw in some fantastic indie creators like Katie Cook, Joe Eisma, Janet Lee, Paul Maybury and Thom Zahler, and you’ve got one of the best (and diverse) comic-con line-ups in the southwest.
