The Greasebat-Mechanized Heavy Armored Division has been tasked with the containing and destroying the Greasebat by any means necessary. First Look: Watchmen Pop! Vinyl Figures by Funko - Dr. Manhattan

First Look: Watchmen Pop! Vinyl Figure by Funko - Dr. Manhattan Prototype

Gemini Collectibles is at it once again, this time giving the world its first look at the soon to be released Dr. Manhattan Watchman Pop! Movies vinyl figure by Funko! Dr. Manhattan combined with the Rorschach figure we saw last week forms a killer wave of Watchmen Pop! I’m just glad to see Dr. Manhattan will be wearing underwear and not letting it all hang out like in the movie and DC comics. The Blot just hopes there will be more Watchman Pop figures announced sometime soon.

You can purchase the all white Dr. Manhattan Watchmen Pop! Movies vinyl figure prototype seen here from the Gemini Collectibles online store for $125 each. No word on when the Watchmen Pop! Series will be released, but expect each figure to stand 3.75” tall, feature 1 point of articulation, and come packaged in a full color displayable window box.

The Dark Knight Rises Batman 400% Be@rbrick by Medicom

The Dark Knight Rises Batman 400% Be@rbrick by Medicom

It’s almost 2013 and Medicom is still releasing toys based on hit movies from the summer of 2012. There used to be a time when summer tie-ins ended by August, but Medicom is going to ride these cash cows for as long as they’re producing milk! I took that analogy a little too far didn’t I? Anyway, Medicom has teamed up with Warner Bros and DC Comics to release this The Dark Knight Rises Batman 400% Be@rbrick. It’s basically a giant sized version of TDKR Batman 100% Be@rbrick, which was included in Be@rbrick Series 24 earlier this year. If you’re a fan of Batman’s costume from the movie then you’ll definitely want to get your hands on this figure.

The Dark Knight Rises Batman 400% Be@rbrick by Medicom is scheduled to hit store shelves sometime in May 2013 and will retail for around $85 each.

Fringe Screen Print #2 - The Plateau by Mark Englert

Fringe Benefits Limited Edition Fringe Screen Print Series - “The Plateau” by Mark Englert

The Plateau” by Mark Englert is the second screen print in the Fringe Benefit Screen Print Series released in honor of the hit FOX television show Fringe’s fifth and final season. Each print will be based on an episode’s case (aka fringe event) selected by fan voting at the Fringe Benefit website. Englert’s design is based on Episode 303, entitled “The Plateau”, where Olivia, Charlie and Lincoln are called to the scene of an accident where a pedestrian has been run over by a bus, nearly duplicating events of a similar bus accident the day before. Olivia finds a ball-point pen at the scene, a rarity in the parallel universe because of the adoption of digital interfaces. Evidence suggests that the discovery of the pen by a bystander created a sequence of chain reactions that lead to the victim's death.

Englert has been on a tear lately creating a series of amazing landscape prints from some of pop culture’s most popular locales. Over the past year he’s tackled TV shows and movies such as Breaking Bad, Doctor Who, The Walking Dead, Alien…and now Fringe! A killer line-up for sure! Mark Englert’s limited edition Fringe 5 color glow in the dark screen print “The Plateau” measures 36”x12”, has a run size of 150 pieces (only 100 available for purchase) and comes hand numbered. The print retails for $30 each and can be purchased here.

To celebrate and honor the fifth and final season of Fringe, six of Gallery 1988’s most sought after artists and designers have been commissioned to create screenprints depicting some of the series' most memorable cases. All profits from the Fringe Benefits project will be donated to The Mission Continues, an amazing charity that encourages and aids volunteerism by disabled and wounded veterans. These screenprints are hand-pulled, each its own individual work of art, in an edition of just 150, with only 100 available to the public through this project. Once the edition is sold out, they will never be printed again.

NBC’s Community Christmas Figurine Set

Community Christmas Figurine Set by NBC

Even though NBC still hasn’t aired Community’s 4th season (is it even still on the air?), they are producing some killer Community merchandise! It almost makes me mad to give NBC money considering how horribly they’ve treated one of my favorite comedies, but this Community Christmas Figurine Set based on the amazing Season 2 episode “Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas” is freaking awesome! Seriously, who doesn’t need 2.5”-4.5” vinyl figures of their favorite Community cast members re-imagined as holiday stop-motion animation characters!?!

The Community Christmas Figurine Set includes Wizard Duncan, Teddy Pierce, Snowman Chang, Jeff in the Box, BallerAnnie, Britta Bot and Troy Soldier. My only complaint is there’s no Abed figure!?! How can you call this a “complete set” without Abed! This holiday set is currently available through the NBC online store on sale for $49.99. Shockingly, this set normally retails for $90.65 (who’s paying that crazy price!?!).

Mos Eisley Cantina Jumbo Vintage Kenner Star Wars Playset by Gentle Giant

Mos Eisley Cantina Jumbo Vintage Kenner Star Wars Playset by Gentle Giant

In one of the most surprising releases announced for 2013, Gentle Giant is producing a Mos Eisley Cantina Playset to use with their popular line of jumbo vintage Kenner Star Wars action figures. It’s just so random that it’s awesome! Gentle Giant perfectly sets the scene with this faithfully reproduced Mos Eisley Cantina Playset. Enjoy a new way to display all of your favorite Star Wars Jumbo Vintage Kenner figures and recapture that sense of wonder you had when you first saw this in the Holiday Wishbook.

Digitally scanned using one of the original 3.75” scale playsets, Gentle Giant has rendered this childhood treasure in 12” scale, which comes out to be a whopping 37.5” wide, 21” deep and 20.7” tall! Die cut and printed on hefty, high-quality cardstock, the Gentle Giant Jumbo Vintage Mos Eisley Cantina Playset is an absolute must-have for Star Wars fans and vintage toy collectors alike.

The Mos Eisley Cantian 20.7” Jumbo Vintage Kenner Star Wars Playset by Gentle Giant is not expected to be released until April 2013, but it can be pre-ordered through Entertainment Earth for $88.99 here.

Hot Topic Exclusive Invader Zim Gir Pop! Television Vinyl Figure by Funko

Hot Topic Exclusive Invader Zim Gir Pop! Television Vinyl Figure by Funko

This one’s actually been out for a while, but The Blot’s trying to get all caught up on my Funko news before the New Year begins. Meet Gir, Zim’s robotic assistant/sidekick from Nickelodeon’s canceled before it's time animated television show Invader Zim! For his first Pop! vinyl figure, Funko has decided to go with Gir in his green dog suit which he dons as a disguise while he’s roaming around Earth. This cute little figure was sold exclusive at Hot Topic for around $10-15, and may still be available in select stores if you’re lucky! Otherwise eBay may be your best bet.

Hot Topic Exclusive Invader Zim Gir Pop! Television Vinyl Figure by Funko stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation and comes packaged in a full color window box.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation 3D Final Movie Poster

G.I. Joe: Retaliation 3D Final One Sheet Movie Poster

So Paramount just realized its final one sheet movie poster for G.I. Joe: Retaliation 3D, but sadly it’s basically the same poster we’ve seen before. The only difference? There’s “3D” in the movie’s title now and they’ve added Channing Tatum to the G.I. Joe roster on top. Does this mean his character Duke will actually play a more significant role in the film now? Who knows...but what I do know is they want to use his newfound star power as much as possible to market Retaliation. Like Bruce Willis and The Rock weren’t enough?

It sounds like this movie had more problems with its story than with its stars. And I’ve yet to read a review of the film’s new cut. That’s probably not a good sign! But like a sucker, this film will probably still be getting The Blot’s money. What can I say, I love G.I. Joe. Yo, Joe!

G.I. Joe: Retaliation (aka G.I. Joe 2) invades theaters on March 29, 2013.

DC Comics x Rat Fink “Bat-Fink” Screen Print by Jason Edmiston

DC Comics x Rat Fink “Bat-Fink” Standard Edition Screen Print by Jason Edmiston

Earlier this month Blunt Graffix curated a sick group art show entitled “Blunt Fink,” where artists took iconic pop culture movies and mixed them with the style of "Big Daddy" Roth's Rat Fink. There were so many awesome pieces in the show The Blot thought I’d highlight a few this week. As a huge DC Comics and Batman fan I of course love Jason Edmiston’s killer Bat-Fink! This is the first time I’ve seen the classic Batmobile redesigned as a hot rod, but Edmiston did a killer job with this design. I especially love how he included Robin as the gear shift knob!

DC Comics x Rat Fink “Bat-Fink” Silver Variant Screen Print by Jason Edmiston

“Bat-Fink” by Jason Edmiston is an 18”x24” screen print. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 80 pieces and retails for $50 each, while the Silver Variant has a limited edition run size of 20 pieces and retails for $75. Both versions can currently be purchased via the Blunt Graffix online store.

Kaws Woodstock Peanuts Vinyl Figure

Kaws Woodstock Peanuts Vinyl Figure

Later tonight/tomorrow Kaws continues his sad decent into mediocrity. At what point are fans going to stop buying these uninspired releases where Kaws just takes an established character and adds crossbones to their heads and X’s over their eyes? I guess if you actually liked Kaws’ Snoopy figure then you’ll want his pal Woodstock as well, but IMHO this figure’s even worse than his Tweety release. And don’t even get me started on the news that this figure is not in scale with the Snoopy figure. That just baffles me! Medicom and Original Fake really dropped the ball on that one. I can’t even see Peanuts fans wanting this release, but I’m sure the Kaws collectors will cause it to sell out instantly. What’s next, Garfield? Oh wait, The Hundreds already did that one. Maybe Marmaduke?

The Kaws Woodstock vinyl figure is scheduled to drop tomorrow, Saturday, December 22nd, at Original Fake and retail for around $160.  Rumor has it this figure will drop on Kaws' online store later tonight.

Doomsday Doppelganger Super Villain Print Set by Alex Pardee - Dr. Doom, Apocalypse & Doomsday

Doomsday Doppelganger Super Villain Print Set by Alex Pardee - Apocalypse, Dr. Doom & Doomsday

If you’re reading this it means the world didn’t end on 12/21/12 like the Mayans predicted! But that doesn’t mean we can’t pay tribute to the doomsayers for their outlandish predictions. For this very special non-event Alex Pardee has created a very cool comic book inspired “Doomsday Doppelganger” print series! This series includes three prints in all, each featuring Pardee’s unique take on a different super villain (Marvel’s Dr. Doom and Apocalypse, and DC’s Doomsday).

Doomsday Doppelganger Super Villain Print Set by Alex Pardee - Dr. Doom, Apocalypse & Doomsday

For only 24 hours Alex is offering these Doomsday Doppelganger super villain prints up for sale celebrating some of the world’s most famous doomsayers. The prints went on sale at 12:01am on December 21st and end at 11:59pm tonight at the Zerofriends online store. Each print measures 5”x7”, comes hand signed by Alex Pardee, and retails for $12.21. You can also buy the complete 3 print set for just $20.12. But act fast, because you never know when the world is going to end!

Gemini Collectibles Exclusive Metallic Chase DC Universe Pop! Series 3 by Funko

Gemini Collectibles Exclusive Metallic Chase DC Universe Pop! Series 3 by Funko - Aquaman, Green Arrow, Hawkman & Shazam Vinyl Figures

Wave 3 of Funko’s DC Universe Pop! Heroes has been out for a while, but no chase figures were ever discovered in the wild. The reason for that is there were none…until now! Four of Series 3’s characters (Aquaman, Shazam, Hawkman and Green Arrow) are now available as limited edition Metallic Chases sold exclusively through Gemini Collectibles. A Metallic Martial Manhunter was previously released as a San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive, leaving Two-Face as the only Series 3 figure without a rare chase.

Each Gemini Collectibles Exclusive Mettalic DC Universe Pop! Heroes Wave 3 vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, is limited to just 240 pieces, and comes in a displayable window box. Fans can purchase all four figures as a set for $59.99 or individually for $16.99 through Gemini Collectibles online store.

Star Wars x Rat Fink “Darth Fink” Screen Print by Joshua Budich

Star Wars x Rat Fink “Darth Fink” Standard Edition Screen Print by Joshua Budich

Earlier this month Blunt Graffix curated a pretty cool group art show entitled “Blunt Fink,” where artists took iconic pop culture movies and mixed them with the style of "Big Daddy" Roth's Rat Fink. There were so many awesome pieces in the show The Blot thought I’d highlight a few this week. One of my favorites is this Star Wars themed design by Joshua Budich featuring Rat Fink as Darth Vader riding on a hot rod TIE fighter. I especially love the flames coming out at the bottom of the TIE fighter!

Star Wars x Rat Fink “Darth Fink” Variant Screen Print by Joshua Budich

“Darth Fink” by Joshua Budich is a 24”x18” 4 color screen print with metallic inks. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of just 25 pieces and can be purchased at the Blunt Graffix online store for $40 each. The sold out Darth Fink Variant has a limited edition run size of just 3 pieces and retailed for $60.

Justice League x Korejanai Mini Figure Series

Justice League x Korejanai Mini Figure Series - The Flash, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman & Green Lantern Vinyl Figures

Kotobukiya is bringing a pretty cool new Justice League mini figure release to the United States entitled Justice League x Korejanai! This series is a collaboration between DC Comics and Zarigani Works, and is based on the popular “Korejanai Robot” (“not that Robot!”) style of illustration. Each brightly colored figure stands around 2.5” tall, includes a mini-display stand and unique trading card, and features poseable arms. Not only that, but it doubles as a vehicle when rolled on the wheels in its back!

The Justice League x Korejanai Mini Figure Series includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and The Flash, and each character comes in two colorways: regular and metallic. The Blot hasn’t been able to find any online stores selling individual figures, but you can purchase a case of all 10 figures from Entertainment Earth for $55.99 here.

Monsters, Inc. Cosbaby Series by Hot Toys

Monsters, Inc. Cosbaby Series by Hot Toys - Randall, Diver Mike, Boo, Sulley, Mike & Monster Boo Vinyl Figures

This weekend Monsters, Inc. will be rereleased in theaters, this time in 3D! So what better time to cover Hot Toys’ newest Cosbaby Series featuring characters from the hit Disney/Pixar movie. The Blot’s a little embarrassed to admit I’ve never seen Monsters, Inc., even though everyone seems to love it and many claim it as their favorite Pixar animated film. If only it wasn’t in 3D this time around or I might go see it in the theaters.

The Monsters, Inc. Cosbaby Series by Hot Toys includes six figures in all: Boo, Monster Boo, Sulley, Mike, Diver Mike, and Randall. Each Cosbaby vinyl figure stands 3” tall, includes multiple points of articulation and features your favorite movie characters in baby form. Expect this Hot Toys x Disney collaboration in stores everywhere early 2013.

Fringe Screen Print #1 - White Tulip by Anthony Petrie

Fringe Benefits Limited Edition Fringe Screen Print Series - “White Tulip” by Anthony Petrie

White Tulip” by Anthony Petrie is the first screen print in the new Fringe Benefit Screen Print Series released in honor of the hit FOX television show Fringe’s fifth and final season. Each print will be based on an episode’s case (aka fringe event) selected by fan voting at the Fringe Benefit website. To kick things off the fans selected Episode 218, entitled “White Tulip”, where Professor Alistair Peck is experimenting on his own body to convert himself into a time machine to travel back in time to see his fiancée.

Anthony Petrie’s limited edition Fringe 4 color screen print “White Tulip” measures 18”x24”, has a run size of 150 pieces (only 100 available for purchase) and comes hand numbered.

Star Trek Into Darknes Announcement Trailer

When did movie studios start using the term “Announcement Trailer”!?! I swear I had never heard of it before until a few weeks ago. So it now goes from teaser trailer to announcement trailer to full trailer? Does it really even matter? Earlier this week Paramount released its first full length trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness. It’s basically an extended cut of the teaser trailer with a really awesome voiceover by the film’s villain portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch. At this point no one still has any idea what this Star Trek movie is about, but I guess that’s a good thing. It’s definitely ramping up excitement, and speculation on the internet is running rampant. The Blot assumes we’ll all find out soon enough!

Stark Trek Into Darkness, directed by J.J. Abrams, boldly goes into theaters on May 17, 2013.

outsmART originals is really ending 2012 with a bang! Along with Scott Tolleson’s “Bitta Critta” t-shirt, outsmART originals just dropped their new outsmART originals mascot t-shirt featuring a killer black and white Gorilla designed by Jon-Paul Kaiser. What better way to start 2013 than by wearing outsmART original’s mascot on your chest!?! JPK really did a great job designing this one don’t you think?

Printed on American Apparel fine jersey tees, the outsmART originals Gorilla Mascot t-shirt by Jon-Paul Kaiser is only $25 and guaranteed to ship on January 2nd, 2013. Pick one up in men’s sizes S-3XL and women’s sizes S-2XL at the outsmART originals website.

Ghostbusters x Rat Fink “Ghost Fink” Screen Print by Brian Ewing

Ghostbusters x Rat Fink “Ghost Fink” Screen Print by Brian Ewing

Blunt Graffix curated this awesome group art show entitled “Blunt Fink,” where artists took iconic pop culture movies and mixed them with the style of "Big Daddy" Roth's Rat Fink. Sounds pretty awesome right? For Brian Ewing’s piece he combined Ghostbuster’s Slimer with Rat Fink to come up with a very cool looking print entitled “Ghost Fink”! How awesome is Ewing’s hot rod version of Ecto-1!?! The Blot also loves how Brian Finked out the Ghostbusters logo on the side.

“Ghost Fink” by Brian Ewing is an 18”x24” 6 color signed and numbered screen print. The print has a limited edition run size of 100 pieces and can be purchased at the Blunt Graffix online store for $50 each.

Buff Monster dropped the second colorway of Sue, his cute collaborative resin toy with Healeymade this morning. This hand cast and hand painted figure is made from glow in the dark resin and has a limited edition run size of just 10 pieces. The Blot loved the figure’s first pink colorway, but unfortunately I didn’t even find out about it until after it was already sold out. The GID Sue (which comes bagged with a Buff Monster designed header card) went on sale at the Buff Monster online store this morning, Wednesday, December 19th, and immediately sold out. Hopefully there’s another colorway coming soon!

Candy Corn Sickling Resin Figure & Green Tone Sickling Pin by Yosiell Lorenzo

Yosiell Lorenzo’s popular Sicklings are back and better than ever!!! While Halloween might be over, it’s always a good time for candy corn and I think Yosiell’s Sicklings would agree. These creepy, yet cute, little monsters will definitely make the perfect sweet addition to anyone’s collection. Each Candy Corn Sickling is made from hand cast resin, and comes with a burlap sack for warmth and a candy corn treat for snacking. Each figure stands 4.5” tall and comes signed and numbered by the artist. But act fast, because only 12 Candy Corn Sicklings have been created. chiBOO DIY Resin Figure by Toro Toys

chiBOO Do It Yourself Resin Figures by Toro Toys

Toro Toys just realized a new 1 inch “do it yourself” resin figure named chiBOO! The Blot’s not usually into “platform toys,” but this guy is a little too cute to ignore! chiBOO are spirits from beyond our world…lost souls if you will. But if they’re lost why are they smiling you ask? Because they’re glad to meet you! Give them a home and they will be your friends forever.

Cast in durable solid white resin this release is intended for designer artists and customizers who want to make their own special chiBOO figures. New colorways and designs will be coming soon! Pick one up today for just $5 from the Toro Toys online store.

The Hundreds x Cool World Collection

The Hundreds x Cool World Collection

Even though The Hundreds has been teasing a collaboration with the 1992 live-action/animated movie Cool World for a few weeks, The Blot still thought it was all a ruse. No way The Hundreds was bringing back a beloved movie (by the few that saw it) that utterly flopped at the theaters. But hey, it did star Brad Pitt, Kim Basinger and Gabriel Byrne, and was directed by animation legend Ralph Bakshi. Sure enough, The Hundreds and Paramount Studios have teamed up to produce the Cool World Collection in honor of the groundbreaking film’s 20th Anniversary!

The Hundreds Cool World Collection - Basic Holli T-Shirt, Characters T-Shirt, Moon T-Shirt & Deebs Button Up Shirt

I honestly never thought I’d see the day… If you’re not familiar with the film I recommend seeing it at least once and you can read about its creation here and here. The Hundreds Cool World Collection includes t-shirts, stickers, a button up shirt, and a snapback hat featuring characters (like Basinger’s Holli Would) and designs from the film.

The Hundreds Cool World Collection - Moon Snapback Hat, Basic Holli Sticker, Moon Sticker & Character Sticker

All of the clothing and stickers seen here can be purchased at all The Hundreds flagship stores and The Hundreds online store now (while supplies last). The t-shirts come in multiple colors and sizes (S-XXL) and retail for $36 each, the button up shirt (sizes S-XXL) retails for $78, and the twill snapback hat retails for $32. All three The Hundreds x Cool World stickers retail for just $3.

First Look: RoboCop Pop! Vinyl Figure by Funko

First Look: RoboCop Pop! Movies Vinyl Figure Prototype by Funko

Gemini Collectibles unveiled another unannounced upcoming Pop! vinyl figure when they put up for sale this awesome RoboCop prototype earlier this week! The Blot’s just glad to see Funko went with the original classic RoboCop design, and not the new all black version from the remake scheduled to be released in 2014. You can purchase the RoboCop Pop! Movies vinyl figure prototype seen here from the Gemini Collectibles online store for $125. No word on when the RoboCop Pop! vinyl figure will be released, but expect it to stand 3.75” tall, feature 1 point of articulation, and come packaged in a full color displayable window box.

G.I. Joe Mini Figure Series 1 by The Loyal Subjects

G.I. Joe Mini Figure Series 1 by The Loyal Subjects

The Loyal Subjects and teamed up with Hasbro to release a new G.I. Joe blind boxed mini figure series! Designed by Les Schettkoe, Series 1 includes some of your favorite characters from G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero: Snake Eyes, Duke, Cobra Commander, Destro, Storm Shadow, Zartan, Gung-Ho, Snow Job and three chase figures. One of the chases is a Hooded Cobra Commander figure, which you can see in the photo I took of this series at Designer Con 2012.

Designer Con 2012 - G.I. Joe Mini Figure Series 1 by The Loyal Subjects

The Blot had high expectations for this series when I first learned about it a few months ago, but after seeing these figures in person at DCon I’m really unimpressed. They’re basically better sculpted Mighty Muggs, and look about on par with Mez-Itz. To me their arms look really disproportioned to their bodies and their heads are gigantic. I never thought I’d long for a 3” blind box series akin to Kidrobot’s licensed min figure series. It’s amazing how up and down The Loyal Subjects Hasbro products have been so far. The only release I’ve really liked so far are the skate decks. Here’s hoping the Transformers mini figure series is better.

G.I. Joe Mini Figure Series 1 by The Loyal Subjects - Snake Eyes, Duke, Cobra Commander & Destro Vinyl Figures

The G.I. Joe Mini Figure Series 1 includes 11 characters in all, each feature multiple points of articulation and includes character specific accessories and weapons. All weapons and accessories are interchangeable, and each figure even has the old school peg hole in its back so they can all wear backpacks. Also, each figure is guaranteed 2 per case so it sounds like you can definitely complete at least one if not two sets per case.

G.I. Joe Mini Figure Series 1 by The Loyal Subjects - Zartan, Gung-Ho & Snow Job Vinyl Figures

G.I. Joe Blindbox Mini Series 1 is not scheduled to ship until February 2013, but you can pre-order them now though The Loyal Subject’s online store. Each blind box retails for $12.99 or you can purchase a case for $208 (although the TLS website does not state how many blind boxes that includes).

Led Zeppelin Celebration Day Screen Print by Obey Giant

Obey Giant: Led Zeppelin Celebration Day Screen Print by Shepard Fairey

After designing the packaging for Led Zeppelin’s Mothership album, the iconic rock band ask Shepard Fairey and Obey Giant to give it another go for the package of their concert album Celebration Day. The Blot loves this image, although the Mothership design was a little more classic Obey Giant. Either way, it’s really impressive that Fairey was asked to design the cover artwork for two different albums for such an iconic rock band as Led Zeppelin!

Led Zeppelin Celebration Day by Shepard Fairey is an 18″x24″ signed and numbered screen print, and has a limited edition run size of just 300 pieces. The print will retail for $55 and goes on sale at Obey Giant online store today, December 18th, between 10am and 12 noon PST at a random time. There is also an additional 50 prints that come signed by the band, which will be sold for charity at a later date.

First Look: Watchmen Pop! Vinyl Figures by Funko - Rorschach

First Look: Watchmen Pop! Vinyl Figures by Funko - Rorschach Prototype

The Blot loves it when the good folks at Gemini Collectibles put up for sale new prototype figures of unannounced Pop! vinyl figure! Earlier this week they added these two awesome Rorschach Pop protos from Funko’s soon to be released Watchman Pop! Movies Wave. Since Rorschach is the unofficial super hero of TheBlotSays.com you know I’m about this released (whenever it happens). Here’s hoping we at least get all six main characters from DC ComicsWatchman movie/comic book series.

You can purchase both of the Rorschach Watchmen Pop! Movies vinyl figure prototypes seen here from the Gemini Collectibles online store for $125 each. No word on when the Watchmen Pop! Series will be released, but expect each figure to stand 3.75” tall, feature 1 point of articulation, and come packaged in a full color displayable window box.

B5100 ED-IT DJ Resin Figure by Tesselate

Red B5100 ED-IT DJ Resin Figure by Tesselate

The Blot is way late on this awesome release from UK artist Tesselate! The ED-IT DJs are a progression of characters Tesselate created back in 1999. As the story goes, the ED-IT are a group of technology based DJs who have grown into a large force within the underground music scene. Ever since the 2068 “Law of Awareness,” which granted all non-human creations the same right as humans, the group has gained a following and have rapidly taken their performances worldwide. B5100 is one of the joint founders of the ED-IT group, who started his career in the then illegal “fully auto” underground club nights.

Red Head B5100 ED-IT DJ Resin Figure by Tesselate

The Blot loves when characters like B5100 have such thought out and detailed backgrounds! B5100 stands 6.6″ tall and this red colorway has a limited edition run size of just 5 pieces. Each figure is hand cast in resin, hand painted by Tesselate and includes a well used underground club desk and two miniature Accex sound creating devices. Pick one up today at the Tesselate online store for £70. There is also a limited edition run of 5 B5100 Red Head resin figures available as well for £20. “New” G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer

So the marketing of the actual release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation this spring has moved into high gear with the release of its first full trailer for its second release date. Everyone keeps talking about how new this trailer is, but it looks almost identical to the trailer we saw almost a year ago. I haven’t studied it that closely, but you’d be hard pressed to point out more than a few seconds of new footage. It’s ok because The Blot’s always liked this trailer, but why is everyone kissing up to Paramount acting like this is really a new trailer. This film better be good or it’s going to be the death of Hasbro’s G.I. Joe franchise.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation (aka G.I. Joe 2) storms theaters on March 29, 2013.

Watchmen “Nothing Ever Ends” Screen Print by Anthony Petrie

Watchmen “Nothing Ever Ends” Screen Print by Anthony Petrie

The Blot is so ticked I missed out on this awesome Watchmen screen print by Anthony Petrie!!!! It was released last month as part of Bottleneck Gallery’s “The Gang Is All Here” group art show, an exhibit dedicated to the art industry's legendary cliques, groups, buds, and gangs. There are so many things about Petrie’s design I love, including the layered clockwork pieces in the background.

Watchmen “Nothing Ever Ends” Screen Print Glow int he Dark Layer by Anthony Petrie.JPG

But where he really killed it is with the clock in the middle, split into pies highlighting the six main characters of DC Comics’ seminal comic book series Watchmen (notice I didn’t call it a graphic novel). Petrie gave each hero their own specific background and the entire image is covered with a top layer you can see in the picture above, which was printed in glow in the ink! I’m just drooling looking at this image now.

“Nothing Ever Ends” by Anthony Petrie is a 5 color, 18”x24” Watchmen signed and numbered screen print with glow in the dark ink. It has a limited edition run size of 100 pieces and originally retailed for just $25!

Japan Exclusive The Amazing Spider-Man GID Pop! Vinyl Figure by Funko

Japan Exclusive Glow in the Dark The Amazing Spider-Man Pop! Marvel Vinyl Figure Bobble Head by Funko

News has been spreading like wildfire throughout the internet over this Japan Exclusive Glow in the Dark The Amazing Spider-Man Pop! Marvel vinyl figure bobble head by Funko! The Blot loves GID Red vinyl and this figure looks sick! The only catch is, like with most Japan exclusive releases, you’ve got to go through an intermediary to get your hands on one. The Japan Exclusive The Amazing Spider-Man GID Pop! Vinyl Figure by Funko has a limited edition run size of 1,000 pieces and retails for around $15.

But keep in mind, Gemini Collectibles recently solicited its own USA Exclusive GID The Amazing Spider-Man Pop! figure (without a picture), which is limited to just 240 pieces and retails for $18.99. There has been no confirmation if this is the same figure as the Japan Exclusive just with a different sticker on the box, but this definitely seems like a more cost friendly alternative when you factor in the intermediary fee and international shipping costs (unless you're a completist and need them all). The Gemini Collectibles USA Exclusive Glow in the Dark The Amazing Spider-Man Pop! is expected to ship sometime in February 2013.

Gread 2012 Holiday Ornaments by Dead Hand Toys

Gread 2012 Holiday Ornaments by Dead Hand Toys - Green & Red Colorways

For the second consecutive year Dead Hand Toys is producing a pretty cool ornament for the holidays! The 2012 Christmas Ornament is Dead Hand Toys’ first figure, the Gread! Cast in resin and foam, these are super light weight and perfect for hanging on your Christmas tree or holiday bush (even more so than last year’s ornament). Each Gread Ornament comes painted in metallic colors and layered with glitter. But don't worry, there's at least three layers of clear on each Gread Ornament so the glitter shouldn't be going anywhere.

The 2012 Gread Christmas Ornament by Dead Hand Toys will be available in four metallic colorways: red, green, silver and gold. These go on sale at the Dead Hand Toys online store today, Friday, December 14th, at 5pm EST and will be available through Sunday, December 16th. Each ornament will retail for $15, but if you buy a set of all four they’re just $50 (that’s $10 off!).
