After debuting at New York Comic Con 2017, Tenacious Toys has just put up for pre-sale Abe Lincoln Jr’s Rocky, the first figure in Abe’s new line of Satanikids resin figures! What’s great about this release is that it’s a perfect 3D rendering of Abe Lincoln Jr’s signature cartoony art style. Sculpt by Mike “NEMO” Mendez and cast by Jacob JAMS, Rocky stands 2.5” tall and is limited to just 13 pieces. Each figure also includes a free Satanikids comic. The Blot would love to read that one! Collectors can order a Satanikids Rocky resin figure now at the Tenacious Toys online store for $35.

"Cast in Plastic" Custom Toy Show Opening Night at Domy Books
On Saturday night The Blot attended my very first custom toy show, and I have to say…it was awesome! Featuring custom toys by artists from around the world, “Cast in Plastic: Art from the Designer Toy Revolution” exceeded even my greatest expectations. Not only were there some truly amazing custom toys, but collectors from around the state of Texas showed up in droves to be a part of Houston’s first designer toy show. Domy Books was packed Saturday night, and The Blot was on hand with my Flip and camera to document the evening. While I was really excited to do some live reporting, let me just warn you…I’m not quite as good with the video camera as I thought I would be. Then again, it was fun putting together the first TheBlotSays.com video!
The “Cast in Plastic” custom toy show runs May 14-June 23 at Domy Books, Houston (1709 Westheimer, Houston, TX 77098). The art exhibit features custom toys by Abe Lincoln Jr., Ack!, Andrew Shondrick, Anville, Babyvtec, BALD, Brett Osborne, Chauskoskis, Christian Navarrette, Daniel Anguilu, Evoker, Fried Gold Productions, Ian Ziobrowski, Igor Ventura, James Fuller, Jay Bramhall, Jeremiah Ketner, Julie Truong, George Lamontagne, Lara Slater, Luihz Unreal, Martin Hsu, Matt Anderson. MeSmithy, Mr. Den, Nreazon, Rocketboy, Rsin, Ryan the Wheelbarrow, Saner, Squink!, Valerie G, VISEone and Zam Art.

Cast in Plastic Custom Toy Show at Domy Books This Saturday!
This weekend is a monumental event in the Houston designer toy scene, the city’s very first custom toy show! After months of teasers, “Cast in Plastic: Art from the Designer Toy Revolution,” curated by Marie Ung, will be debuting this Saturday, May 14th, at Domy Books (aka the epicenter of designer toys in Houston) from 7-10pm. The show includes over 30 different artists from around the globe showcasing their unique skills on a variety of vinyl platforms. The Blot will definitely be in attendance Saturday night, and I look forward to not only meeting fellow collectors but giving readers of TheBlotSay.com an in-depth review of the show! Finally, an opportunity to use my Flip video recorder for some good old fashion toy blogging.

Kidrobot Dunny Concept Design by Abe Lincoln Jr.
While The Blot doesn’t do it very often, one of the things I love to blog about the most are unused concept Dunny designs. The whole “What If?” aspect to them makes me appreciate these never before seen designs that much more!
Yesterday I was looking through Abe Lincoln Jr.’s flickr page and stumbled upon the “Snitches Get Stitches” Dunny design you see here. Why this rad design didn’t get picked a while back is beyond me, but at least now it’s seen the light of day! Here’s hoping we see another Abe Lincoln Jr. design on a Dunny sometime soon!

Custom Hawaiian Pizza Globulon Resin Figure by Abe Lincoln Jr.
While it doesn’t look like there will be any more production runs of Abe Lincoln Jr.’s Globulon resin figure, Abe’s got more than a few customs in the works including this awesome Hawaiian Pizza custom colorway. Inspired by the Hawaii colorway of vintage Japanese Kaiju toys, Abe has taken all the garish beauty of these classic toys and bastardized them into a hamfisted tribute to the old masters of toy painting.

Alpha Globulon Unpainted Blue Resin Figure by Abe Lincoln Jr.
Abe Lincoln Jr.’s first ever resin figure, Alpha Globulon, is now available online for purchase. Globulon was originally created for a series of Priority Mail stickers that Abe was disseminating in the streets of New York over the summer of 2009. Abe’s been working on releasing select characters in toy form over the last year, and this is the first of the series.
The Alpha Globulon unpainted blue resin figure by Abe Lincoln Jr. stands 5 inches tall, has a limited edition run size of 25 pieces, and retails for $50 each. You can purchase this figure, which was inspired by Hedorah the Smog Monster, at myplasticheart and Abe Jr.’s online store.
