The final colorway of Andrew Bell’s wacky Can of Worms vinyl figure has been released by BIC Plastics at the group-buy site Massdrop. A really odd decision if you ask The Blot. I really don’t understand the concept, and it’s unclear where the figure will be available after this offering ends in a day or two. It’s a shame BIC Plastics went this route for the figure’s final release. The white Albino Edition Can of Worms features 3 articulated heads and 3 articulated tails, can be displayed with or without its can accessory, and measures 8.5”x6”x4.5”.

Packaged in a full color window box, the Albino Can of Worms vinyl figure by Andrew Bell is limited to just 100 pieces and will retail for between $59.99-49.99 at Massdrop (sorry, I don’t get it either).

SDCC 13 Exclusive “Rare European Blue Blood” Can of Worms Vinyl Figure by Andrew Bell

The Can Of Worms, Andrew Bell’s crazy vinyl figure, returns in the San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Exclusive “Rare European Blue Blood” colorway. This awesomely named edition is limited to just 150 sets and can be purchased at the Dumbrella SDCC booth #1335 for $55. For those of us who won’t be at SDCC, Myplasticheart will have some of the Can of Worms third colorway available online after the convention.

Can Of Worms Vinyl Figure Set by Andrew Bell

Andrew Bell has teamed up with BIC Plastics to open up a big ol can of worms! But these aren’t any old worms, they’re Grade A fancy worms! Ideal for fishing, composting, bird feeding or displaying on your shelf. This vinyl figure set is based off of an illustration that first appeared on the Creatures in my Head website way back in 2007. Each set of Can of Worms vinyl figures features 3 articulated heads and 3 articulated tails, and can be displayed with or without the can accessory. This really unique set measure 8.5"x6"x4.5", and comes packaged in a full color window box.

The first Can of Worms vinyl figure set by Andrew Bell is the Pink Edition ($50), which will be available for purchase at toy and specialty retailers everywhere soon. There’s also going to be a WonoderCon 2013 Exclusive Bloodworm Edition released this weekend at deKorner’s WonderCon booth #1179.

DCon 12 Exclusive White Deathhead Vinyl Figure by David Flores

Fans worldwide have been going crazy for David Flores’ Deathhead vinyl figure. This 10” figure, which pays homage to Disney’s iconic Mickey Mouse, is not only massive but beautiful as well. And this Designer Con 2012 Exclusive White Deathhead is all kinds of perfect! Usually with “white” colorways you lose the ability to really see all the details in a figure’s sculpt, but this is definitely not the case with Flores’ White Deathhead! Its light gray outlining and crisp lines makes David’s stained glass style stand out even!

Produced by BIC Plastics, the DCon 2012 Exclusive White Deathhead by David Flores has a limited edition run size of just 25 pieces, will retail for around $90 each and can be purchased at the Toy Art Gallery’s DCon booth #400. With how much demand there’s been for this figure don’t expect this figure to last very long! Also, David will be on hand at the TAG DCon booth to sign this amazing figure!

Deathhead Mickey by David Flores

Collectors around the world have been going crazy for David Flores’ newest vinyl figure, the Deathhead! All of its limited releases to date have sold out instantly and people keep clamoring for more. Thankfully, the Deathhead is finally getting a wide release featuring its OG Mickey Mouse inspired colorway.

While I’m usually a diehard fan of anything David Flores does (The Blot’s a sucker for his stained glass art style), I was never a huge fan of his Deathhead design. David already did an amazing Mickey Mouse figure a few years ago and this just felt like a rehash. But then I saw picks of the 3D version of Flores’ Deathhead Mickey and was won over instantly. I think I needed to see it in this OG colorway to get the full impact of the figure. And at 10” tall the figure looks to be pretty massive!

Produced by BIC Plastics, Deathhead Mickey by David Flores retails for $90 each and should be available at designer art toy stores everywhere very soon.

Dragatomi Exclusive Ozomahtli GID Ghost Edition by Jesse Hernandez

Last weekend at WonderCon 2010, Jesse Hernandez released the first colorway of his newest vinyl figure from BIC Plastics, Ozomahtli. The Ozomahtli Ghost Edition vinyl figure glows in the dark and can be purchased exclusively from Sacramento’s Dragatomi. This 9.5” figure looks awesome, and The Blot can’t wait to see one in person.


As you all know, I’m sucker for all things glow in the dark, and when you combine that with Jesse’s signature Aztec style it turns the Dragatomi exclusive Ozomahtli vinyl figure colorway into a must get for The Blot. The Ghost Edition Ozomahtli is limited to just 100 pieces and can be purchased directly from Dragatomi here for $90.

Do It Yourself Blank 8 Inch BIC Buddy by Marka27

The Blot’s always had a fascination with blank do-it-yourself vinyl figures. Not only are they great for customizers, but they also look killer when displayed together. So I was pretty excited to learn BIC Plastics was already releasing an 8” DIY Blank BIC Buddy designed by Marka27. It’s too bad Kidrobot won’t follow BIC Plastics’ lead and release a DIY Blank 8” Dunny.


This blank DIY figure was designed strictly for creativity with clean large bold shapes and a surface ready to be customized. The Do It Yourself 8 inch BIC Buddy has a matte white finish and retails for just $25.

Half Dead 8 Inch BIC Buddy by Marka27

Next week, BIC Plastics will be unveiling its first ever 8″ Bic Buddy production design, “Half Dead Buddy” by Marka27. Marka27 has been teasing this figure for a while now, and it’s definitely lived up to the hype! I love the tattoos on the figure’s chest, and the skeleton bones look awesome. Plus, Half Dead comes with a cape, and what’s cooler than that!?!


This half-dead Mexican Luchador will be on display at the Bic Plastics Booth (No. 2866) at New York Toy Fair 2010 next week February 14-17, 2010 (Sun–Wed) at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and will be released at the upcoming Buddy Custom Shows in Los Angeles (March 27th) and New York (April 9th). The 8 inch Half Dead BIC Buddy by Marka27 are limited to just 150 pieces and will retail for $60 each.

TwoBit by David Flores Sneak Peek

The Blot has been anxiously awaiting a photo of David Flores previously announced but unseen until now new vinyl figure TwoBit (produced by BIC Plastics). Thankfully, the wait is now over since Mr. Flores was gracious enough to post a little teaser image of his latest creation on his blog this past weekend.


The Blot’s not sure if this is technically a pink or purple colorway of TwoBit, but if I know David Flores this will probably not be the only colorway produced. No word has been released yet as to the height, price or run size of the figure, but as soon as BIC Plastics releases more information I’ll be sure to post an update.

BIC Buddy Mini Vinyl Figure Artist Series 1

The Blot has been waiting for the official release of BIC Plastic’s BIC Buddy mini vinyl figure Artist Series 1 ever since the 3 inch toy line first debuted at San Diego Comic Con 2009 back in July, and it sounds like they should finally be hitting store shelves sometime soon! I love my Jesse Hernandez SDCC 2009 exclusive yellow BIC Buddy, and I’ve been wanting to add Hernandez’ black BIC Buddy to my collection ever since. Designed by Marka27, the new BIC Buddy platform is fantastic.


While this 3” platform is the same height as Kidrobot’s Dunny, it has a bulkier body and head giving artists more surface area to play with. Plus, certain BIC Buddys come with killer accessories like wings and capes! The BIC Buddy platform is definitely the first mini figure artist series I’ve been excited for in a really long time.


These 3” BIC Buddys come blind boxed and retail for $8 each. BIC Buddy Artist Series 1 includes 13 different figures and 3 rare secret chase figures designed by some of today’s hottest artists. SDCC 09 Exclusive Yellow BIC Buddy by Jesse Hernandez

Designer toy company BIC Plastics is about to release its very first 3” platform blind boxed series entitled BIC Buddy, and it’s unveiling the figure at this weekend’s San Diego Comic Con. While BIC Buddy Artists Series 1 doesn’t hit stores until August, BIC is releasing its first every Buddy figure on Saturday, July 25th as a SDCC 2009 exclusive! The toy line’s very first exclusive is a yellow colorway of Jesse Hernandez’ BIC Buddy and it looks killer. It will definitely look great next everyone’s 8 inch Jaguar Warrior Dunny also designed by Hernandez.


While price and run size for the SDCC 09 exclusive BIC Buddy by Jesse Hernandez is currently unknown, you can be sure this will be a highly sought after figure as it is the first BIC Buddy every released. The figure goes on sale Saturday, July 25th at 2pm at the Toy Tokyo SDCC 09 booth #5237. Jesse Hernandez will also be there from 2-3 to sign this awesome looking figure. Expect more information on this new 3 inch platform toy designed by Marka27 on The Blot Says… sometime after Comic Con!
