Eleventh Doctor Dynamix Doctor Who Vinyl Figure by Big Chief Studios

Big Chief Studios has unveiled the second figure in its new line of Doctor Who Dynamix vinyl figures and it’s the bowtie wearing, fez sporting Eleventh Doctor (portrayed by Matt Smith)! The Blot just hopes this figure doesn’t take as long to be produced as the Tenth Doctor Dynamix vinyl figure. Two and a half years later the Tenth Doctor is finally in my possession, but it was totally worth the wait! The sculpting on this Doctor Who figure is seriously impeccable and the paint job is perfect. While Big Chief Studios may take forever to get to the final product, their figures are top notch!

The 11th Doctor Dynamix ultra stylised vinyl figurine is being released in three unique editions, with each colorway featuring different sculpt or accessory. The “Series 5” Eleventh Doctor Dynamix vinyl figure is limited to 3,000 pieces, and includes his trusty Sonic Screwdriver and two interchangeable heads, one with his trademark quiff and the other wearing his fez (yes they are cool). The “Series 7” Edition is limited to 3,000 pieces as well, and comes suited up for adventure in his stylish purple jacket, waistcoat and bow tie (it also includes the Sonic Screwdriver and two heads).

Last but not least is the Big Chief Studios Exclusive “Series 5” Eleventh Doctor Variant. It is limited to just 500 pieces and features an alternate deco to the Doctor’s shirt, bow tie and bracers, and includes an interchangeable right hand holding his mop. I believe this version also includes the Sonic Screwdriver right hand and the two heads.

All three versions come packaged in a full color TARDIS themed window display box and retail for £59.99 via the Big Chief Studios online store. Big Chief Exclusive Doctor Who Variant Tenth Doctor Dynamix Vinyl Figure

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 2.5 years since The Blot first blogged about Big Chief Studios’ Tenth Doctor Dynamix Doctor Who vinyl figure. When I first found out about this figure I immediately placed my pre-order at Entertainment Earth, but then the figure was indefinitely delayed and all orders were canceled by the distributor. Then miraculously the Tenth Doctor Dynamix figure became available again for pre-order, and just yesterday I got word my figure has actually shipped! After all this time I can’t wait to see this Doctor Who Dynamix vinyl figure in person. Here’s hoping it’s as cool as its pictures!

Doctor Who Dynamix 9” Vinyl Figures by Big Chief Studios - The Tenth Doctor

Thanks to our friends at Atomic Martians, The Blot recently found out about Big Chief Studios’ upcoming line of Doctor Who Dynamix 9” vinyl figures!!! Needless to say I am super excited about this new toy line and I see a ton of potential here. Big Chief’s Dynamix line will offer unique interpretations of characters from Doctor Who, the world’s longest running sci-fi TV show.

With each regeneration of the Time Lord, a new actor assumes the role of the time travelling Doctor and brings with him a unique portrayal of the character. Dynamix plans to capture the very essence of each actor’s Doctor in dynamic poses as if it was from a moment were frozen in time. The first figure scheduled for release will be the Tenth Doctor as portrayed by David Tennant. Wearing his trademark pinstriped blue suit with flowing trench coat and trainers, the Doctor stands ready for his next time travelling adventure.

These ultra-stylized vinyl figures remind me a lot of Upper Deck’s now defunct All-Star Vinyl line, and I just hope they are as equally well made. It would also help if the figures actually look like the person they are based on (as opposed to UD’s ASV figures which rarely looked like their subjects), but from the images seen here it appears like the inaugural Doctor Who Dynamix figure is spot on! I for one can’t wait to get my hands on one of these!
