Moribund Resin Action Figure by BigMan Toys

Moribund Resin Action Figure by BigMan Toys - Bone White & Creepy Green Colorways

Our friends at BigMan Toys are back with another awesome pop culture inspired resin action figure! Inspired heavily by the artwork and general aesthetic of album covers by The Misfits, Samhain and Danzig, as well as the creepy sci-fi villains in the early Microman line, comes the evil Moribund! The Moribund is a demon that makes itself present when a person is close to death. He flies silently in skies too dark to see and becomes visible in the pagan fires of Samhain rituals. Pretty awesome figure, right?!? The Blot especially loves the detailed head sculpt of the Moribund.

This wild looking skeleton stands nearly 7” tall, is fully posable, and comes in two spooky colorways: translucent Creepy Green and painted Bone White. Both versions include a removable PVC cape and will retail for $55 at the BigMan Toys online store. The Moribund goes on sale at midnight (London time) on Saturday, October 18th.

Wo-Man & the Masters of the Universe Bootleg Resin Figures by BigMan Toys

Wo-Man & the Masters of the Universe Bootleg Resin Figures by BigMan Toys - Faye-Kerr, Wo-Man & Wo-Man Brilliant Replica

I can’t lie, even for a toy aficionado as The Blot it is near impossible to keep up with all of the amazing bootleg kitbashed resin action figures and M.U.S.C.L.E. inspired rubber mini figures being produced these days. Take BigMan Toys for instance, who’s been cranking out some really interesting resin figures based on popular ‘80s toy lines and keshi. BigMan Toys newest release is Wo-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which pays homage to the Mattel’s classic MOTU toys.

Wo-Man is a 5.5” resin figure and is as much influenced by He-Man as she is by the Twins of Power characters, Robert Crumb comics, and a worn to nothing VHS tape of Red Sonja! Wo-Man was saved by a mysterious hero in her youth, and from that point forth committed to never again relying on the strength of others. Brandishing her father's modified wood-axe, she roams the planets in search of the warrior who once came to her aid to pledge allegiance to him. Hindering her journey is her evil clone Faye-Kerr, an obvious homage to MOTU’s Faker. Embedded in Wo-Man’s axe is a gem, which when at its apex of power allows her to self-clone bringing forth a brilliant replica of herself to fight alongside her so long as the gem holds power.

Each Wo-Man resin figure features 3 points of articulation, sports a rubber suit of armor and a deadly ax. All three Wo-Man colorways seen here will go up for sale on October 31st at the BigMan Toys online store for $69 each.

The Critters Mini Figures by Zectron x Man-E-Toys x BigManToys

Zectron x Man-E-Toys x BigManToys The Critters Rubber Edition Mini Figures

BigManToys has teamed up with the Man-E-Toys blog and the Amazing Zectron (aka Plastic Soul) to produce a new line of mini figures inspired by the classic horror franchise Critters! Originally produced in extremely limited numbers by Eric Nilla and sold exclusively through the Little Rubber Guys forum, the latest batch of Zectron's debut toy will be released in two distinct versions: an authentic keshi-style rubber variant that has been produced by Tru:Tek over at Man-E-Toys, and a resin version from Lee over at BigManToys.

Zectron x Man-E-Toys x BigManToys The Critters Resin Edition Mini Figures

Both versions of this Critters mini figure take a wildly different approach in aesthetic. Tru:Tek has gone for a mixture of solid and marbled neons with his rubber version, whilst Lee has focused on "Graff-Eaty" hand paints, glossed clears, glitters, GITD and opaques resin Critters. And to stay true to the M.U.S.C.L.E. lover in all of us, both toy makers have also produced this killer figure in traditional pink “flesh” tones. There really is something for fans of retro mini-figs, art toys and cult horror!

These rubber and resin 1.5”x1.5” Critters inspired mini figures are scheduled to go on sale this Friday, August 24th, at 9pm London time (1pm PST). The Rubber Edition Critters Mini Figure will be available through the Man-E-Toys online store for $15 sold blind bagged style with the option for either a neon colorway or a flesh tone colorway. The Resin Edition Critters Mini Figure will be sold through the BigManToys online store (and the October Toys forum) for $13 each with various colorways to choose from. All figures come bagged with a header card featuring a hand drawn design from Zectron, and include a very special "safety booklet" on how to look after (and avoid getting eaten by) your very own Crite!
