SDCC 2017 Exclusive Dick Tracing Antiqued Edition Resin Mini Busts by Alex Pardee x BarnyardFX

Whoa, here’s some freaking exciting news! Alex Pardee’s killer Dick Tracing resin mini bust is back in two awesome San Diego Comic-Con 2017 exclusive editions. Pardee surprised his fans on Saturday when he released not one, but two different San Diego Comic-Con 2017 Exclusive Antiqued Edition Dick Tracing mini busts. Sculpted and produced by Greg Aronowitz, collectors can choose from “Dick Hugger” or “Face-Off Dick” mini busts. This is the 2nd colorway of the Dick Hugger statue, and the very first release of Alex’s Face-Off Dick statue.

Each San Diego Comic-Con 2017 Exclusive Antiqued Edition Dick Tracing Resin Mini Bust stands 5.5” tall and is limited to just 10 pieces. Collectors can purchase them now at SDCC booth #5502 for $100 each.

Dick Tracing Resin Figures by Alex Pardee x BarnyardFX

One of the most exciting surprise releases of Designer Con 2016 were these two killer Dick Tracing resin figures by Alex Pardee!!! Sculpted and painted by Greg Aronowitz of BarnyardFX, both Dick Tracing figures were unveiled at Pardee’s DCon booth first before then being made available online at his website. The Dick Hugger Mini Bust ($75) stands 5.5” tall and features an Alien facehugger attached to Dick Tracy’s face, while the Dick & Balls Ornament ($75) is 5” tall is painted all metallic gold. Sadly the grey bust is now sold out, but The Blot’s crossing my fingers Pardee releases a second colorway of this awesome Dick tracing figure.

MondoCon 3 Exclusive Dick Tracing Original Drawings by Alex Pardee

In less than two weeks The Blot will be heading back to Austin to cover MondoCon 3, and I can’t wait! One of the artists I’m most excited to see is Alex Pardee. After having to cancel his appearance last year, Pardee will be setting up shop at MondoCon 2016 and he’s bringing with him an insane amount of original “Dick Tracing” drawings for sale!!! Getting my hands on one of these Dicky Tracy inspired pieces is at the top of my must get list for MondoCon this year.

If you have been following Alex Pardee on Instagram over the last few months (and if not what’s the matter with you?), you may have seen his latest personal therapy: Dick Tracing. This crazy series of repetitive drawings revolve around the iconic 1940’s comic strip detective Dick Tracy and typically involve some sort of dick joke. But what you may not know is that the very first Dick Tracing that Pardee ever drew was actually at Mondo-Con 1 in 2014, so it seems fitting to bring his Dicks home this year!

Alex loves drawing these Dick Tracing pieces so much he’ll be showcasing and selling over 100 original Dick Tracing drawings!!! Each piece measures 7”x7” and will be sold for just $50. As Pardee said on his blog, “this may be the only time you get to see THIS MANY DICKS all in one place, just “hanging out” together!” There will be no limit on how many Dick Tracings you can buy, so be sure to get to his MondoCon booth as early as you can for the best selection.

SDCC 2010 Exclusive The Blank (from Dick Tracy) Action Figure by Shocker Toys

This year, Shocker Toys is releasing four different convention exclusive Indie Spotlight action figures. One of my favorite of these exclusives is the San Diego Comic-Con 2010 exclusive The Blank action figure. The Blank (also known as Faceless Redrum) is a member of Dick Tracy’s rogues gallery who wears a blank face mask to hide his identity…just picture DC Comics’ The Question as a bad guy!


The Blank action figure is technically a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive (meaning it can only be purchased SDCC 2010), but you can actually pre-order it at the Shocker Toys online store. Attendees of SDCC ’10 can pay $23 to pick it up at a Comic-Con or non-attendees can pay $30 to have it shipped to them directly.

Dick Tracy SDCC 09 Exclusive Black & White Action Figure by Shocker Toys

Shocker Toys is releasing an all new San Diego Comic Con exclusive Indie Spotlight action figure at this year’s convention. The SDCC 09 exclusive is a B&W version of Shocker Toys’ Dick Tracy action figure from Series 2 of its upcoming Indie Spotlight Comic Book Heroes 6” action figure toy line. This is the first time Dick Tracy has appeared as hyper-articulated action figures in creator Chester Gould’s classic black and white comic strip style.


The world’s most famous detective will be available in two limited run action figures. Both will be available on-site at San Diego Comic Con, with the standard issue B&W version also available to non-attendees at www.shockertoys.com/store.php. The B&W variant figure, which features Dick in his traditional trench coat with a Tommy gun will only be available at SDCC for a lucky few collectors.


The Blot has always been a huge Dick Tracy fan, so I am definitely going to try to get one of the B&W variant action figures at this summer’s San Diego Comic Con. Shocker Toys has not released the run size of either figure or a price for the black and white variant Dick Tracy figure, but the standard issue black and white Dick Tracy action figure is $35. Those of you unable to attend SDCC 09 can go ahead and pre-order the standard B&W Dick Tracy action figure now at Shocker Toys’ online store.


Series 2 of Shocker Toys’ Indie Spotlight Comic Book Heroes 6 inch action figure line will feature Dick Tracy colorized in both the standard and variant models along with The Tick, Ignacia, Jack Staff and King Zombie.
