Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy Print Series by Patrick Connan x Vice Press

This past Sunday was the 14th anniversary of the original theatrical release of Edgar Wright’s Hot Fuzz in the UK. To celebrate, Vice Press is releasing a new set of prints by artist Patrick Connan for Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy: Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End.  As Vice Press explained, “Patrick’s prints have a number of references that are fun nods to different aspects of each film.”

Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End by Patrick Connan are open edition A2 size (420mm x 594mm) lithographs on 250gsm Naturalis archival paper.  They can be purchased individually for £29.99 or as a 3 print set for £84.99.  All three Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy prints will go on sale at 5pm today, Tuesday, February 16th, at Vice-Press.com.

Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy Screen Prints by Johnny Dombrowski x Mondo

Later today, Mondo will be releasing an awesome set of movie posters based on Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy by artist Johnny Dombrowski! Edgar Wright's Cornetto Trilogy Movie Poster Screen Prints by Logan Faerber x Mondo

Later today, Mondo will be releasing a trio of awesome new movie posters by Logan Faerber for Edgar Wright's beloved Cornetto trilogy. Also known as the “Blood and Ice Cream” trilogy, this series of Edgar Wright helmed films includes the romantic-zombie-comedy Shaun of the Dead, buddy cop action film Hot Fuzz, and the sci-fi/apocalyptic The World’s End. As Mondo explained, “This is our first time working with Logan and he's done excellent work unifying and capturing these incredible films in his style and aesthetic. We're stoked and can't wait to work with Logan again.”

The print works perfectly with Jock’s previously released Shaun of the Dead screen print, and I have to believe there will be a matching print for Edgar Wright’s third film in his Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy, The World's End. Mondo is teaming up with UK artist Matt Taylor to release a beautiful new movie poster for Edgar Wright’s latest film, Baby Driver, today. Everything The Blot has heard about Baby Driver sounds amazing, and I seriously can’t wait to see the film! As Mondo explains, “Matt Taylor’s work on his poster is incredible and does a great job of marrying two of the core concepts of the film: fast cars and a killer soundtrack. The World’s End, the third and final film in Edgar Wright's Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, premieres tonight. To celebrate the film’s release Mondo has teamed up with Kevin Tong to produce this awesome movie poster! Between yesterday’s Shaun of the Dead release by Tyler Stout and today’s Kevin Tong release Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have never looked so good!

The World’s End by Kevin Tong is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 290 pieces and will retail for $45, while the Variant has a limited edition run size of 115 pieces and will retail for $65. Edgar Wright Live! at The Alamo Drafthouse Screen Print by Kevin Tong

This weekend in Austin, director Edgar Wright is presenting all three of his films to open the brand new Alamo Drafthouse on Slaughter Lane. If you don’t know, this includes Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and Hot Fuzz, all three instant classics in The Blot’s book. To commemorate this exciting event, Kevin Tong has been commissioned to create a screen print for the event and it rocks! Everyone coming to any one of Edgar’s four screenings will be able to buy the poster, and The Blot is really holding out hope a few of these make it to Mondo’s online store eventually.

If you’re in Austin this weekend I really hope you’ve got tickets to this very special event at the Alamo Drafthouse’s brand new theater on Slaughter Lane. If not, the only show not sold out is the dinner screening of Scott Pilgrim at 7:15. So buy a ticket while you still can (and pick up a print for The Blot while you’re there!).
