Howard the Duck: Eggcellent Since 1973 Marvel Screen Print by Dave Perillo x Grey Matter Art

It’s been way too long, but Grey Matter Art is finally releasing a new print in its classic Marvel Origins Screen Print Series by Dave Perillo!!! Created in 1973 by writer Steve Gerber and penciler Val Mayerik, Howard the Duck was featured in a few issues as a secondary character in Man-Thing’s Adventure Into Fear comic book series, before receiving his own comic book, Howard the Duck #1, in 1976. The Blot got to meet Mayerik a few years ago and was such a thrill to hear him tell stories of those early Man-Thing / Howard the Duck days. There has been a few different versions of Howard over the years, but the character has seen a huge resurgence in popularity recently since his brief cameos in both Guardians of the Galaxy live action films.

Howard the Duck: Eggcellent Since 1973 by Dave Perillo is a 12”x24” hand numbered Marvel screen print. Limited to just 100 pieces, the poster can be purchased at 1pm EST on Thursday, March 29th, at the Grey Matter Art online store for $35.

After debuting at MondoCon 2016 last month, Mondo has finally released this awesome Marvel Animals Portrait Enamel Pin Set by Tom Whalen online! This 3 piece set includes Howard the Duck, Lockjaw (from the Inhumans) and Frog Thor in Whalen’s signature art style. It was really cool to learn at MondoCon 3 that Whalen had originally planned for a fourth pin in the set – Spider-Ham – but it never got approved by Marvel. Is this really happening!?! Funko is releasing a Howard the Duck Pop! Marvel vinyl figure based on the character’s appearance in the Guardians of the Galaxy’s end credits scene. It baffles me that Howard the Duck joined the modern era Marvel Cinematic Universe before iconic heroes like Black Panther, Namor or Captain Marvel. If you’re a long time comic book fan then you know how crazy it is that Howard the Duck is garnering this much mainstream attention. Has everyone just forgotten the terrible live action ‘80s Howard the Duck movie!?! I just hope Howard’s reemergence shines a light on the amazing work of his creator, Steve Gerber.

Howard the Duck Guardians of the Galaxy Pop! Marvel vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box.
