Mallrats Print by George Bletsis x Vice Press

Snootchie Bootchies! Vice Press has teamed up with artist George Bletsis to release a fantastic new movie poster for one of The Blot’s favorite films, Kevin Smith’s Mallrats. As Vice Press explained, Smith’s “films have resonated with us since we first watched them back in our teens and continue to be a source of unadulterated joy. Combining slacker culture, the ups and downs of teenage love, coming to terms with growing up, Sega and of course, Comics, Mallrats was a film that perfectly mirrored that time in our lives.”

Kevin Smith x The Hundreds Apparel Collection

How in the world did The Blot miss the news that on 4/20 The Hundreds released a killer apparel collaboration with filmmaker Kevin Smith based on his View Askew universe!?! The Blot is a HUGE fan of all of Smith’s View Askew films, including Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy, and those films were a big part of my childhood / college life.  The Hundreds definitely went all out on this release.

Fans of Jay and Silent Bob will definitely love this Kevin Smith x The Hundreds Collection. It’s got Smith’s signature jorts and jerseys, and tons of t-shirts and hats based on his films and their cast of characters.  The only sad news to report is that the collection is 100% sold out on TheHundreds.com.  Thankfully, The Blot went to JayandSilentBob.com and saw they have a number of the hats, tees and hoodie from this collection still in stock. One of The Blot’s all-time favorite films is finally getting the Minimates treatment! Straight from Kevin Smith’s Viewaskew Universe comes this killer new line of Mallrats Minimates mini figures by Diamond Select Toys. To Celebrate the Mallrats 20th Anniversary, DST is releasing this fantastic Mallrats Minimates Series 1 Box Set, which includes Jay, Silent Bob, Rene and Brodie. Finally, we get Minimates versions of television icons Jason Lee and Shannen Doherty!

SDCC 2015 Exclusive Mallrats 20th Anniversary Minimate Mini Figure

Every year at San Diego Comic-Con, Diamond Select Toys gives away a really cool Minimmate featuring a logo from one of their many licensed properties. This year’s free Comic-Con giveaway pays tribute to one of The Blot’s all-time favorite films, Kevin Smith’s Mallrats! DST has been releasing a ton of awesome View Askew themed toys lately, but this is their very first Mallrats toy released just in time for the film’s 20th Anniversary.
