DCon 2021 Exclusive Bones & Boo the Cat Resin Figures by Mike Egan x DKE Toys

At Designer Con 2021, DKE Toys will be releasing two new Mike Egan exclusives! First up is the Bones 3.75” hand cast and painted carded resin figure.  It is a signed and numbered edition of 100 pieces and will retail for $50.  DKE Toys will also be releasing the second colorway of Egan’s newest resin figure, Boo the Cat! The Designer Con 2021 Exclusive Boo the Cat features a black and white color scheme and stands 8” tall. This hand cast and painted figure is limited to 100 pieces, will retail for $100, and the box will come signed and numbered.

The DKE Toys DCon 2021 booth will be live in person at the event (booth #1322). However, in an effort to not alienate their online customer base that they have cultivated over these past 2 years because of the pandemic, DKE Toys are offering all exclusives for sale online first at 12pm PT on Friday, November 5th at DKEToys.com/store. Boo the Cat, Bones & Lucky Halloween Edition Resin Figures by Mike Egan

Mike Egan’s amazing resin figures – Bones and Lucky – are back, and this time they’re bringing a new friend! Meet Boo the Cat, the newest addition to Egan’s ever-growing universe of death and life and everything in between.  The Blot’s a huge fan of Mike’s resin figures and it’s so exciting to see a new character join Bones and Lucky after all these years.

Produced by DKE Toys, all three 8” resin figures are available now in this spooky Halloween Edition that’s orange and black.  Each figure was hand cast in orange resin then hand painted with a black rub.  Bones, Lucky and Boo the Cat are limited to 31 pieces each and are available for purchase now at MikeEganArt.com for $125. Death Folk Pop 2021 Painting Series by Mike Egan

The Blot was thrilled to learn that artist Mike Egan would be revisiting his popular Death Folk Pop series of paintings in 2021!  As Mike explained, “As I’m getting older I’ve been reflecting back on my life and thinking about what has influenced me over the years. As a child of the 80s the one thing that keeps jumping out at me is pop culture. The toys I played with, the cartoons, video games, movies, etc. These characters have been great friends to me growing up.”

“This is why I wanted to continue my “Death Folk Pop” series in the new year. These paintings have become a way for me to say goodbye to a younger me. But also a way for me to look back at my life and remember the good times I had with friends bonding over our love for music, toys, etc.” – Mike Egan

DKE Toys presents SDCC 2018 Exclusive Star Wars “Space Rat” Action Figure Art Series

It took DKE Toys a long time to figure out what to do with a galactic sized pile of vintage Kenner Salacious Crumb action figures from the original Star Wars toy line. Behold, the limited edition Space Rat Action Figure Art Series! For this exciting new series, DKE Toys invited 11 artists to lend their skills to interpret the galaxy’s favorite Space Rat.

For the San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Exclusive Star Wars “Space Rat” Action Figure Art Series each artist created an original painting of the character for the packaging. Those paintings were then transformed into signed and numbered card backs, which have affixed to them authentic Kenner Salacious Crumb action figure from 1983! There are 11 artists in all participating in this series, with each artist specific card back limited to 100 pieces. These fantastic pieces will retail for just $25 at the DKE Toys SDCC booth #5045, or you can get a full set of all 11 different designs for $200. That’s like 3 free Space Rats! For those collectors wanting the complete series, figures numbered 1-20 will be available at the show as matching numbered sets.

Bones & Cat Handmade Plush Figures by Mike Egan

Yesterday, artist Mike Egan released a new line of plush figures based on his amazing folk art! Check out these adorably creepy Bones and Cat plush toys. Each plush figure is screen printed locally in Pittsburgh, and then hand embellished with paint on Canvas by Egan before then being stuffed and sewn by the artist. For their first release, the Bones Plush Doll is available in a blue edition, while the Cat Plush Doll is available in a gray edition. Each plush measures 11.5” tall by 6.5” wide, with each colorway limited to just 25 pieces. These signed and hand numbered plush figures are available now at the Mike Egan online store for $65 each.

Check out this insane surprise collab that dropped yesterday!!! Mike Egan has teamed up with Killer Bootlegs to release a new, super limited run of Bones resin figures. But what’s really special about this set is that each 4” resin figure (hand painted by Killer Bootlegs) comes carded on an 8”x8” wood panel painted by Mike Egan! So you get an original painting by Egan with every purchase. How nuts is that!?! The Blot is so bummed I missed out on this as Egan and Killer Bootlegs are two of my favorite artists.

This Bones Resin Figure and Painting Set is limited to just 10 pieces and sold for just $100. That’s ridiculously cheap when you consider you’re really getting two releases in one! Sadly, all 10 pieces sold out yesterday. Here’s hoping these two amazing artists do a follow up run one day, maybe with a different one of Egan’s characters!

The Mike Egan T-Shirt Collection by CommonWealth Press

Mike Egan, one of The Blot’s favorite artists, has teamed up with CommonWealth Press in Pittsburgh to release two new limited edition t-shirts featuring super unique art style. “Remember” and “Bad Seed” are classic examples of Egan’s work, and they look as good on an American Apparel tees as they did as original paintings on cradled wood panels. Both shirts are currently available at the Compress Merch online store in sizes S-XXL for $25 each.

Bones & Lucky GID Edition Vinyl Figures by Mike Egan

Somehow The Blot totally missed the announcement that Mike Egan has released a beautiful new GID colorway of his killer Bones and Lucky vinyl figures! For this release, both characters were cast in glow in the dark soft Japanese vinyl and feature a black rub. Each Glow in the Dark Edition Bones and Lucky stands 8” tall, come bagged with a header card and is limited to 20 pieces. These figures retail for $60 each and are available now at all of your favorite designer art toy stores.

WWE Painting and Print Series by Mike Egan

The Blot has been a pretty big fan of professional wrestling most of my life. Yes, my fandom has ebbed and flowed over the years, but I’ve followed the WWE even if I’m not actually watching the product on TV. So of course I was really pumped to learn Mike Egan had been working on a killer WWE painting series featuring some of the biggest WWE Superstars from the ‘80s and ‘90s!

Egan’s WWE series includes 8”x8” acrylic on wood panel paintings of Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Macho Man Randy Savage, the Ultimate Warrior, the Iron Sheik and Jake “The Snake” Roberts. I don’t know about you, but The Blot really, really wants that painting of Andre! I love Mike’s unique take on these iconic professional wrestlers. Each original painting retails for just $175 at the Mike Egan online store and most are still available!

All of these fantastic WWE paintings have also been released as a six piece giclee print set entitled “Childhood Heroes” that retails for $200! This release is limited to just 5 sets and includes five 7”x7” prints on high quality 11”x8.5” paper.

SDCC 2015 Exclusive Lucky Carded Resin Figure by Mike Egan

Mike Egan and DKE Toys are teaming up for the second year in a row to produce a San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive inspired by carded 3¾” action figures of years gone by! A continuation of their series from last year (seen here), this awesome Lucky 4” hand cast and painted resin figure comes carded on a hand painted wood panel by Egan inspired by the Star Wars: Power of the Force toy line.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Lucky resin figure was hand cast by Garret Ziegler from BlockHeads toys and includes specially sculpted wings by George Gaspar. Limited to 20 pieces, collectors can pick this fantastic exclusive at the DKE Toys SDCC booth #5045 for $100 each.

Marbled Bones & Lucky Vinyl Figures by Mike Egan

Mike Egan has just released two bad ass marbled colorways of his Bones and Lucky vinyl figures! First up is the Yellow and Green Marbled Bones, which looks fantastic. The Blot loves the shades of green and yellow. It looks like it was just excavated from ancient burial site! The Yellow and Green Marbled Bones is limited to just 15 pieces and retails for $65.

The Red and Yellow Marbled Lucky is even crazier looking! I don’t know about you, but just looking at it makes me kind of hungry. It reminds me of a hotdog slathered in ketchup and mustard. Ok, maybe that’s just me! The Red and Yellow Marbled Lucky is limited to just 20 pieces and will retail for $65.

Twin Peaks Painting and Print Series by Mike Egan

As a huge Twin Peaks fan, The Blot loves how much attention this iconic ‘90s television series has been getting lately! First the series finally gets released on bluray, and then creators David Lynch and Mark Frost announced the series will return in 2016 for a 9 episode limited series on Showtime. To commemorate the supernatural drama’s return to prominence, artist Mike Egan has created an amazing painting series featuring many of the show’s most interesting (and quirky) characters.

Egan’s Twin Peaks series includes 9”x9” acrylic on wood panel paintings of Agent Dale Cooper, Dr. Lawrence Jacoby, The Log Lady, Nadine Hurley, The Giant, Gordon Cole, and The Man from Another Place. Each of these awesome paintings retails for just $200. While most are now sold out, a few are still available! Hand cast and painted by Killer Bootlegs, this release is an exact replica of Egan’s Bones soft Japanese vinyl figure. What’s amazing about these figures is each one comes packaged on a blister card that is hand painted by Mike Egan. So it’s really two releases in one, a resin figure by Killer Bootlegs and an original Mike Egan painting!

There are three editions of this San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive Bones release, the Red Bones packaged on a Star Wars blister card, the Orange Bones packaged on a G.I. Joe blister card and the OG Black Bones packaged on an Adventure People blister card. Mike Egan has unveiled the newest colorway of his killer Lucky vinyl figure, and it looks awesome! It’s amazing how the black rubs Luke Rook uses on these really figures makes them look like they’ve stepped out of a Mike Egan painting. This Lucky colorway stands 8” tall and is cast in green soft Japanese vinyl and features dark black rub.
