Willie Nelson “Stardust” Screen Print by Matt Ryan Tobin x Collectionzz

Willie Nelson “Stardust” Screen Print by Matt Ryan Tobin x Collectionzz

Today, Collectionzz celebrates one of Willie Nelson’s masterpieces, Stardust, with a limited edition, double sided screen print by artist Matt Ryan Tobin! As Collectionzz explained, “The art is inspired by Willie’s words about the titular track, and what it meant to him personally growing up as a child during the depression days looking up to the stars, which is transcribed on the back of the poster. This print is for all the stargazers out there!”

Willie Nelson “Stardust” Screen Print by Matt Ryan Tobin x Collectionzz

In April 1978, Willie Nelson took a left turn by following a string of successful albums with a cover album of songs made famous by decidedly non-country musicians like Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong. Stardust was a legendary departure from the traditional outlaw country Willie, and America's pop troubadour put his one-of-a-kind touch on pop standards, finding common ground between outlaw country and mellow. It was the right move.

Stardust was met with high sales and near-universal positive reviews. It peaked at number 1 in Billboard’s Top Country Albums. In 1979, Nelson won a Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for the song “Georgia on My Mind”. Stardust was on the Billboard’s Country Album charts for ten years – from its release until 1988. In 1984, when it was certified triple platinum, Nelson was the highest-grossing concert act in the United States. By 1988, the album was certified quintuple platinum, and it was later inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame class of 2015.

Willie Nelson “Stardust” by Matt Ryan Tobin is a 24”x18” hand numbered screen print with a holographic sticker on back of print for authenticity.  Limited to 100 pieces, this print will go on sale at 2pm ET today, Tuesday, September 14th, at iconic.collectionzz.com for $75.

OBEY Giant “Lemmy Damaged Case” Screen Print by Shepard Fairey

OBEY Giant “Lemmy Damaged Case” Screen Print by Shepard Fairey

Tomorrow, OBEY Giant will be releasing this fantastic portrait print of Motörhead’s iconic lead singer Lemmy by Shepard Fairey! As Fairey explained, “I saw Motörhead several times over the years, and they ALWAYS crushed it and were the loudest band I’ve ever seen! The band recorded and toured for 40 years, and I can’t think of a more consistent and reliable musical institution than Motörhead. Motörhead’s founder, singer, bassist, and songwriter, Lemmy Kilmister, is himself as iconic as Motörhead’s “snaggletooth” logo. Lemmy stayed true to the hard-rocking, hard-living lifestyle with a handlebar mustache, cowboy boots, denim, and leather as his perpetual battle uniform to the bitter end. Even though Lemmy looked 50 when he was 30, he never seemed to age a day after that.”

“It was a shock when Lemmy unexpectedly died of cancer… I was convinced that hard rock as a devout religion had made Lemmy immortal! Lemmy may be gone, but the songs and the iconic Motörhead logo live on.” – Shepard

Lemmy Damaged Case by Shepard Fairey is an 18”x24” signed and numbered screen print on thick cream Speckletone paper. The print is based on the original photograph of Tony Mottram. Limited to just 550 pieces, this Motörhead print will go on sale at 10am PT this Thursday, September 9th, at store.obeygiant.com for $65.

And “Among The Living” was the first album of theirs I heard… I thought back on my youth and moshing at concerts. I chose to illustrate their song “Caught In A Mosh” and put into it what it felt like being a young kid in ‘caught a mosh’ pit. But with skeletons. (Because skeletons make everything better!)”

Alice Cooper: Love It to Death Screen Print by Ghoulish Gary Pullin x Collectionzz

Collectionzz has teamed up with one of The Blot’s favorite artists, Ghoulish Gary Pullin, for the next poster in their Iconic by Collectionzz screen print series commemorating another legendary moment in music history – the 50th anniversary of the release of Alice Cooper’s Love It To Death album!

Alice Cooper: Love It to Death Screen Print by Ghoulish Gary Pullin x Collectionzz

This album was the culmination of Cooper's journey that began in 1964 when Vincent Furnier made his first onstage appearance in Phoenix. Fast forward to December 1971 when everybody had heard Alice Cooper’s “I’m Eighteen” off of their first mainstream success, Love It to Death.

“I don’t think my friends at Collectionzz were prepared for my excitement when they asked me to create this anniversary poster for Alice Cooper. To put it mildly, I’m kind of a fan and have been to more Alice Cooper concerts then I have fingers to count. As a teenager in the 1980s I was fully consumed by horror movies, monster magazines and heavy metal. During that time Alice Cooper was having a revival and my first show was in 1989, when the Trash tour came through my home town. I’ve been hooked ever since.” – Ghoulish Gary Pullin
