The Electric Mayhem CustomDunny Set Part I by Nikejerk

2011 was definitely the “Year of The Muppets,” as Kermit and the gang finally retook their place atop the pop culture landscape with the release of The Muppets. The Blot keeps waiting for some awesome designer art toys of The Muppets, but until that happens check out these spot on custom 3 inch Dunnys of The Electric Mayhem, the Muppet Show’s house band, by Nikejerk! Part I of Nikejerk’s The Electric Mayhem Custom 3” Dunny Set includes Dr. Teeth, Janice and Zoot. I haven’t seen any work on whether or not Part 2 is in the works, but I’ve gotta hope Nikejerk is working on Animal and Floyd as we speak!

These figures were commissioned by a private collector, and Nikejerk decided to pattern them after a previous Kermit custom Dunny he made for the same collector. To create the figures you see here, Nikejerk added leg extensions, making these Dunnys about 1/4 taller than your typical 3” Dunnys. Each Electric Mayhem Dunny also includes custom arms, and utilizes felt and yarn to recreate each character’s signature hair style. Is it me or are these customs, in the words of Dr. Teeth, “absotively possilutely righteous!”

Lion-O Custom ThunderCats 3” Dunny by Nikejerk

Happy New Year! The Blot thought we could kick off 2012 here on The Blot Says… by looking back at some of the amazing custom work produced in 2011. And what better place to start than this sick Lion-O custom 3 inch Dunny by Nikejerk. A collector commissioned this piece from Nikejerk last summer and it is phenomenal! I’m willing to go so far as to say this is the best ThunderCats custom I’ve ever seen. It’s just too bad this figure is already in someone’s private collection.

Nikejerk spared no expense when recreating the prince of the ThunderCats in Dunny form. He sculpted Lion-O’s trademark flowing hair, sword and Claw Shield…everything one might need to battle the forces of Mumm-Ra! I’d love to see Nikejerk tackle the rest of the ThunderCats one day.

Booster Gold & Blue Beetle Custom 3” Dunnys by Nikejerk

While The Blot’s been collecting toys and comics for most of my life, I can honestly say I’ve never been jealous of a fellow fan’s collection…until now! The minute I saw the photo above on Nikejerk’s (aka Jared Cain) flickr page my jaw hit the ground. I don’t know who commissioned the Atlanta artist to create custom 3” Dunnys of Booster Gold, my favorite superhero, and his best friend the Blue Beetle but I am extremely jealous. Really I’m just mad at myself for not commissioning them first! Are these spot on or what? I especially love the way Jared handmade the goggles on both figures. All they really need is a little Skeets accessory flying around.

As Jared explained on his flickr page, this pair of custom 3” Dunnys were commissioned by a private collector. After seeing how well these JLI members turned out, the collector then commissioned Nikejerk to customize 14 more members of the Justice League over the next year or so. I can’t freaking wait to see who the collector requested and what Jared comes up with!  Jared's definitely leading the way when it comes to pop culture inspired custom figures.

G.I. Joe Custom Dunnys by Nikejerk

If you’re a long time reader of The Blot Says… then you probably remember Nikejerk from his awesome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Custom 3” Dunny Series that The Blot went gaga over. Well the Atlanta based artist has done it again with an all new set of custom 3” Dunnys. This time however, Nikejerk has immortalized one of my all time favorite ‘80s properties, G.I. Joe!


Nikejerk’s G.I. Joe Dunny Set includes six 3 inch custom Dunnys, each hand painted and hand sculpted. There are three G.I. Joe members, Duke, Scarlett and Snake Eyes, and three members of Cobra, Cobra Commander, Destro and Storm Shadow. I’m usually partial to anything Destro, but how sick is that Storm Shadow custom!?! Which one’s your favorite?



For all the Joe fans out there hoping to get their hands on one or more of these amazing custom Dunnys by Nikejerk, The Blot’s got some bad news. This six figure set made exclusively for a private collector who commissioned Nikejerk for the figures. All I can say about that is I’m one jealous vinyl collector!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Dunny Series by Nikejerk

When The Blot first saw this amazing hand painted set of 3 inch custom Dunnys I knew I was going to have to blog about them. The Blot has always been a huge fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I, like most people in their late 20s/early 30s, first learned about the heroes in a half shell through their popular afternoon cartoon series, which also spawned a long running Archie comic books series and the awesomely cheesy Playmates Toys TMNT toy line. It is this version of the Ninja Turtles that Nikejerk’s Dunny series is based on.


As I got older I moved on from the “kiddie” version and became an even bigger fan of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book series by Eastman and Laird (and produced by Mirage Studios). The original black and white Mirage Studios series is still one of my favorites, but I will always have a special place in my heart for the animated/comedic version of the Turtles. That’s why I love this blind boxed TMND series by Nikejerk. If you don’t recognize everyone in the picture above, here is the complete list of TMNT characters included in Nikejerk’s TMND set: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello), Master Splinter, Shredder, April O’Neil, Casey Jones, Krang and his mechanical body, Bebop, Rocksteady, Metalhead, the Rat King, Baxter Stockman and Usagi Yojimbo.
