SDCC 2026 Exclusive WWE “Rock 'N Wrestling” Action Figure Box Set by Mattel

Last week at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Mattel released this epic WWE “Rock 'N Wrestling” Action Figure Box Set featuring “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Captain Lou Albano and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Cyndi Lauper! During Lauper's rise to fame in the early 1980s, WWE's Captain Lou Albano featured prominently in her "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" music video as Cyndi’s burly, bearded, overbearing father, leading to a real-life friendship between the two.

Soon thereafter, Lauper appeared as a guest on “Rowdy” Roddy Piper's famed segment, Piper’s Pit. The MTV darling soon found herself in the middle of brawls, including Piper smashing a gold record over Albano, and ringside managing Wendi Richter in 1984’s Brawl To End It All. This Rock 'N Wrestling Connection with one of music's biggest stars launched WWE into the mainstream, and changed the course of entertainment history forever!

They Live Nada 1/6 Scale Figure by Mondo

They Live Movie Poster Screen Prints by Oliver Barrett x Mondo

Today, Mondo will be releasing a pair of new movie posters from Oliver Barrett for John Carpenter’s brilliant and subversive examination of consumerism, They Live. The Blot loves They Live and I’m a sucker for any artwork for the movie featuring the film’s star, Rowdy Roddy Piper, prominently – especially when the artwork is this amazing! As Mondo explained, “Fellow bubble-gum loving badass Oliver Barrett deftly crushed it with these posters. They are a beautiful ode to one of Carpenter’s signature films.”

They Live by Oliver Barrett is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print.  The Regular Edition is limited to 230 pieces and will retail for $60, while the Variant is limited to 120 pieces and will retail for $75. Both colorways go on sale at 11am CT on Thursday, June 2nd, at MondoShop.com via The Drop.

Ghoulish Gary Pullin recently unveiled an epic screen print of WWE Superstar Rowdy Roddy Piper. The Hot Rod has never looked so awesome! Gary was privately commissioned to design this poster, and he seriously knocked it out of the park. The Blot loves how Gary transformed Piper’s iconic Hot Rod t-shirt into a number of signature moments from the professional wrestler’s hall of fame career. And Piper’s WWF Intercontinental Championship Title looks spot on! I need this screen print!

Rowdy Roddy Piper by Ghoulish Gary Pullin is a 24”x36” signed and numbered WWE screen print. WWE WrestleMania T-Shirt Collection by HOMAGE

We’re on the Road to WrestleMania, and to celebrate The Showcase of the Immortals taking place next weekend in New Orleans HOMAGE has released three awesome new WWE t-shirts that pay homage to some of Wrestlemania’s greatest moments. First up is “The Rock vs Stone Cold”, which is based on these two WWE Superstars main event match at WrestleMania X-Seven in Houston, Texas. Their WrestleMania rematch was nothing short of epic – a back and forth battle that electrified the audience, but ended with a swerve no wrestling fan expected.

Then there’s “Bret Hart vs Rowdy Roddy Piper”, based on the two WWE Hall of Fame members’ now legendary WrestleMania VIII Intercontinental Championship match. They Live SSFC Kids Resin Figures by Super Secret Fun Club

Super Secret Fun Club paid homage this week to John Carpenter’s cult classic 1988 film They Live with two new SSFC Kids resin figures! The film, which stars Rowdy Roddy Piper and Keith David, is one of The Blot’s all time favorite movies, and was the inspiration for Shepard Fairey’s Obey Giant street art movement. The “All Out of Bubblegum” SSFC Kid is based on Piper’s character and includes a shotgun and bubblegum wrapper, while the alien “Obey” SSFC Kid includes a subliminal messages magazine.

Target has unveiled its newest Funko exclusive, and it’s this epic Rowdy Roddy Piper WWE Pop! vinyl figure in his signature Hot Rod t-shirt and red kilt. Piper has always been one of The Blot’s all-time favorite professional wrestlers and now the WWE Hall of Famer has been immortalized as an adorable chunky Pop! vinyl figure. RIP Hot Rod!

The Target Exclusive Rowdy Roddy Piper WWE Pop! vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation and come packaged in a full color displayable window box. Con Report: Comicpalooza 2015 Takes Things To The Next Level!

From the moment The Blot walked into Comicpalooza 2015 I was honesty blown away! I can honestly say Comicpalooza hit the big leagues this year and become one of the best pop culture conventions, not just in Texas, but in the country. With over 40,000 attendees over the four day Memorial Day weekend, this was hands down the best Comicpalooza I’ve attended since I first started going to the show 6 years ago. It is truly amazing how far this comic-con has come in just the past few years.

Comicpalooza 2015 took over the entire first floor of Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center, the largest in Houston, and it did so without the Dealer’s Room looking sparse and over expanded. Such growth has clearly been driven by their focus on bringing in some of the biggest celebrity names from all corners of the pop culture landscape, including television, movies, comic books, professional wrestling, rock and roll, cosplay and anime. When you have names at the top of your guest list like Stan Lee, Jeremy Renner, Rosario Dawson, Cobie Smulders, Sting, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Kevin Eastman and the cast of Gotham (just to name a few), you’d be hard pressed not to draw impressive crowds.

What’s even more impressive is how Comicpalooza’s organizers have worked diligently to continue to improve the convention. To be honest, I heard (and witnessed) a lot of negative feedback about the organization of last year’s event. It was clear the show had grown significantly without making sure it had the necessary infrastructure in place. While something like this might have killed a smaller show, it was clear Comicpalooza took that criticism to heart and made sure to address those issues in a meaningful way this year. For instance, the celebrity photo-ops and autograph area was much better organized this year, the lines were shorter and all in all there was better communication – which is really the key for any successful con. I for one was very glad to see all of CP’s growing pains disappear!

I think the single biggest takeaway I have from Comicpalooza this year is that every single artist and vendor I spoke with told me how happy they were with the convention. Literally everyone told me they were super busy, had sold a ton of art/merchandise, and would definitely be making plans to attend Comicpalooza again next year. That’s really the biggest complement a comic-con like this can get. Not only does it mean they continue to stack the event with top notch guests, but with word of mouth like this even more big name celebrities, artists and vendors will want to come to Houston.

Personally, I had a fantastic time at Comicpalooza 2015! I just wish I could have spent even more time there than I already did. There were so many panels, meet-ups, performances and events throughout the weekend it’s literally impossible to do it all. No matter what corner of the pop culture universe you are a fan of there is definitely something at Comicpalooza for you! So go ahead and start planning your trip to Houston now for next Memorial Day Weekend, because you won’t be sorry!

WWE Fans: Comicpalooza 2015 is Bringing the Biggest Names in Professional Wrestling to Houston!

Every year Comicpalooza focuses on two or three areas of pop culture and really brings in some heavy hitting guests. While the past two years they’ve hosted some phenomenal professional wrestling stars, this year Comicpalooza turned it up another notch! And that’s saying a lot considering last year’s guests included former world champions and WWE Hall of Famers, Brett “Hitman Hart and Kevin Nash!

For Comicpalooza 2015, Houston’s premiere comic-con is hosting some of the biggest names in WWE’s history, including a number of surefire hall of famers and multiple world champions! This year’s guest list includes “The Icon” Sting, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Booker T and Sharmell, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, Ron Simmons, “The ECW Original” Tommy Dreamer, and The Godfather. That’s nine HUGE guests and it’s not even a wrestling show. I might even go so far as to say this is the best professional wrestling guest line-up of any comic-con this year!

They Live Resin Figures by Motorbot

Motorbot just continues to produce awesome new hand made resin figures week after week! His newest creation is based on the aliens from the 1988 cult classic They Live by John Carpenter and starring Roddy Piper and Keith David. The They Live 4" resin figures feature all new alien head sculpts and utilize the previously seen Morgon body. Motorbot will be debuting these movie themed figures at Gallery1988 San Francisco’s Crazy4Cult show on Saturday, September 4th, but you can expect future colorways to be released soon.


They Live is one of The Blot’s favorite movies for a few reasons: it stars one of my all time favorite professional wrestlers, it features one of the greatest one liners of all time (“I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum”), and it was part of the inspiration behind Shepard Fariey naming his company Obey Giant.


But enough about the movie! While two of the They Live resin figures will be debuting at C4C, Motorbot has 4 more They Live figures (2 color and 2 monochromatic) available for purchase right now. The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania

When The Blot announced last week I was going to schedule a trial run of my live blogging through Twitter this weekend at the biggest sports entertainment event of the year, the speculation ran rampant. It seems like I unintentionally threw everyone off with my March Madness post. My buddy Sam (who lives in Detroit) even called and asked why I hadn’t told him I was coming up to Michigan for the Final Four. You see, while the Final Four is definitely the biggest sporting event this weekend, it’s not the biggest “sports entertainment” (a phrase popularly coined by the WWE) event of the year. That title goes to WrestleMania, the be all and end all event of professional wrestling.

Now as you may all remember The Blot doesn’t really follow professional wrestling anymore, but when I heard WrestleMania XXV was taking place in my own backyard I knew I had to go. As a kid I would have killed to go to WrestleMania and the 10 year old lil’ Blot inside me would have never forgiven the adult I’ve become if I didn’t go. Plus, I had the opportunity to go in college during professional wrestling’s resurgence in the late ‘90s and turned it down. Worried that passing up the WWE’s signature event a second time might mean I never end up going to a WrestleMania, I called my buddy Threefron and made plans to attend the 25th anniversary event.

So here I am, on the verge of attending my first WrestleMania and I have no idea what to expect. With this being the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania the WWE should be pulling out all the stops, including bring back more than a few surprises (rumors continue to circulate about the return of Hulk Hogan to the squared circle). Regardless, Houston is abuzz with talk of WrestleMania. Some analysts even predict the week of WrestleMania should bring a significant economic boost to the city in the upwards of $50 million dollars. (link)


As of now I am only planning on attending WrestleMania XXV Sunday night, but I might be convinced to attend a session of the WWE’s four day fanfest WrestleMania Axxess or Saturday night’s marquee event the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
