Today, Bottleneck Gallery and ISH are teaming up with artist Tom Whalen to release the ultimate pizza parlor gig poster!!! The Blot is a huge fan of The Rock-Afire Explosion and Whalen killed it on this screen print for the animatronic band designed for ShowBiz Pizza Place. As BNG explained, “Tom Whalen has rounded up the whole gang for his newest gig poster: Billy Bob Brockali, Fats Geronimo, Rolfe DeWolfe, Mitzi Mozzarella, and so many more. The Rock-afire Explosion were the premier animatronic restaurant band in the ‘80s, and Tom’s newest print commemorates the legendary band and its many iconic members. Tom’s print is an explosion of color, and we’re excited to release this print dedicated to the ‘80s pop culture phenomenon.”

The Rock-afire Explosion by Tom Whalen is a 36”x24” hand numbered screen print. The Regular Edition is limited to 150 pieces and will retail for $50, while the Variant is limited to 75 pieces and will retail for $60. Check out this freaking amazing new The Rock-Afire Explosion Billy Bob Brockali Vinyl Figure by Justin Ishmael! It’s probably The Blot’s most anticipated release of 2018, and I can’t believe it’s finally here. I’ve seriously been anxiously awaiting its release ever since Ishmael started teasing it over a year ago. For this release, Justin has worked with Rock-Afire Explosion creator, Aaron Fechter, to bring this officially licensed toy to life.

The lead singer of the greatest animatronic band of all time, The Rock-Afire Explosion, feels like he was pulled right off of the stage at Showbiz Pizza. Each Billy Bob Brockali Vinyl Figure stands approximately 11” tall, and includes his classic striped overalls and trademark banjo. This spot-on recreation of Billy Bob Brockali is currently available for pre-order at the Justin Ishmael online store in two different editions.

The Regular Edition retails for $120, while the Deluxe Version (only available at JustinIshmael.com) retails for $150 and includes two bonus accessories – a 2” Birthday Bird mini-figure and an interchangeable version of Billy Bob’s head exposing the animatronic robot parts underneath. How freaking rad is that!?! This figure really takes me back to my childhood at Showbiz Pizza. DCon First Look: The Rock-afire Explosion Billy Bob Vinyl Figure by Justin Ishmael

A HUGE thanks to our friends at Vinyl Pulse for posting this Designer Con 2017 first look at Justin Ishmael’s upcoming The Rock-afire Explosion vinyl figure of the band’s lead singer, Billy Bob Brockali! The Blot totally squealed when this picture popped up on Vinyl Pulse’s Instagram feed. Ishmael has been teasing a new collection based on ShowBiz Pizza Place’s iconic animatronic robot band for months, and this is our first look at merchandise based on these beloved characters.

Billy Bob, who also doubled as the mascot for the ShowBiz Pizza Place chain, is seen here holding his trademark wooden banjo with the Birthday Bird sitting on its neck. It appears the figure will also come with an interchangeable head that showcases the animatronics underneath. The Blot is going to be all over this figure when it is finally released! Here's hoping we get the whole band too!
