The Legend of Korra Screen Print by Craig Drake x Mondo

Later today, Mondo will be releasing this stunning new The Legend of Korra poster by artist Craig Drake! The seminal Nickelodeon animated series was a television show about Korra finding her way through a world that has put all of its expectations on her, while traversing ever evolving relationships with those closest to her. Craig’s screen print focuses on the Avatar, Korra, in combat alongside Asami Sato. The two friends, simpatico in battle, would later have their bond blossom into something much more at the series’ conclusion, cementing the show not only as all-around excellent, but groundbreaking as well.

The Legend of Korra by Craig Drake is a 36”x24” hand numbered screen print. Limited to just 225 pieces, this officially licensed poster will go on sale at a random time today, Thursday, September 26th, at MondoTees.com for $60.

The Legend of Korra “Korra & Asami in the Spirit World” Statue by Mondo

Wow, The Blot honestly can’t believe this beautiful The Legend of Korra “Korra and Asami in the Spirit World” Statue by Mondo is finally available for pre-order!!! This killer statue was first unveiled at MondoCon 2 three years ago, and The Blot has been inundated with questions about it by diehard The Legend of Korra fans ever since I first posted a photo of it on Instagram. The Korra fanbase is definitely all in with this epic post-series release!

If you’re not familiar with The Legend of Korra, it was a Nickelodeon anime inspired animated television series that aired from 2012-2014 and was a direct sequel to the popular series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. The show ended in a beautiful moment when two friends, Korra and Asami, realizing they have stronger feelings for each other, decide to take a vacation into the Spirit World and enter the realm joined hand-in-hand. With this Korra and Asami in the Spirit World statue, Mondo imagines the couple several days into their trip, taking in the wonders of the land, while a friendly leaf spirit joins them in looking on with awe.

Along with the standard edition of this The Legend of Korra statue, Mondo is also releasing a Mondo Exclusive version in which the large plant in the back of the statue can be interchanged with Korra and Asami's backpacks, featuring a mischievous onion spirit (found in one of the bags) looking to play a game of Pai Sho. The Korra and Asami in the Spirit World statue stands 8.5” tall and is made of polystone. Without a doubt, The Blot’s favorite panel of MondoCon 2 was the Toys and Collectibles Panel hosted by Mondo’s Creative Director of Toys/Collectibles Brock Otterbacher! Not only did we get an in depth look at how Mondo’s amazing collectibles are produced, but we got TONS of sneak peeks of upcoming releases. By far the coolest part of the discussion was the panel walking us fans through the process of the creating of Mondo’s soon to be released Godzilla statue based on the movie poster designed by Phantom City Creative. I was seriously blown away by everything that went into this statue’s creation! But I know that’s not why you’re here…it’s for all the great photos The Blot took from the panel, including tons of never before seen concept art for officially licensed releases from properties like DC Comics, Adventure Time, Legend of Korra and more!
