The Smurfs Be@rbrick Vinyl Figures by Medicom Toy

Medicom Toy is releasing an awesome new The Smurfs Be@rbrick vinyl figure of your basic generic Smurf. The Blot’s hoping this will lead to many more Smurfs characters released as Be@rbrick figures in the future! The Smurfs 100% Be@rbrick has already been released as part of Medicom's Be@rbrick Blind Box Series 49, stands 2.75” tall, and will retail for around $10-15. “Three Apples High” The Smurfs Screen Print by Tim Doyle

Spoke Art presents UnReal Estate III by Tim Doyle - “Three Apples High” The Smurfs Standard Edition Screen Print

Last night Spoke Art welcomed back Austin artist Tim Doyle for his third solo exhibition with the gallery, and the latest installment in his ongoing “UnReal Estate” series. Inspired by the popular culture landscape, quite literally, Doyle re-interprets the iconic settings found in contemporary cult television. The Blot was blown away by Doyle’s first two “UnReal Estate” shows, and I’m super excited about his new crop of screen prints. We’re featuring a different print each day this week in honor of the show, which opened on Thursday, February 6th, at Spoke Art in San Francisco.

Spoke Art presents UnReal Estate III by Tim Doyle - “Three Apples High” The Smurfs Variant Screen Print

The fourth UnReal Estate III print we’re spotlighting here on TheBlotSays.com is “Three Apples High”, which is a reference to the height of everyone’s favorite blue creatures, The Smurfs! The Blot’s always loved The Smurfs, but I love Doyle’s explanation of why he made this print even more: “There are always a few prints every year for this show that I do JUST BECAUSE I want to do them. The Sesame Street and King of the Hill prints from year one, and the Downton Abbey and Mr. Rogers one from year two are other examples. They’re prints that I feel very strongly about, fully aware that to most people, they’re not ‘cool’ or ‘current’ or ‘what the heck is this guy thinking?’ Hey, I did a Smurfs print. No regrets. I love how weird and whimsical that show was.”

“Three Apples High” is a 16"x20" The Smurfs screen print. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 125 pieces, while the Variant is limited to just 35 prints. All of the limited edition screen prints from the show were first made available to attendees of the February 6th opening reception, with all remaining copies available online at the Spoke Art online store starting today, Friday, February 7th.

The Smurfs x Scott Tolleson Mixed Parts Deadbeets

The Smurfs x Scott Tolleson Mixed Parts Deadbeet Vinyl Figures – Shmurfy Beets & Header Card

As you all know The Blot loves pop culture inspired colorways, so when Scott Tolleson announced he was releasing not one but two The Smurfs inspired Deadbeets I got pretty freaking excited. The Shmurfy Beet (blue body with white hat) and the Undead Shmurfy Beet (white body with blue hat) are unpainted mixed parts 7.5” vinyl figures cast in Japanese soft vinyl. What's great about this release is they really look like Smurfs without needing any paint at all.  And the headercards Scott designed for this release (inspired by The Smurfs' creator Peyo) look so spot on it's ridiculous.  All in all a classic release The Blot's gotta snag!

The Smurfs x Scott Tolleson Mixed Parts Deadbeet Vinyl Figures – Undead Shmurfy Beet

Sold only as a Smurfy set, these Deadbeets have a limited edition run size of just 20 pieces and will retail for $130 per set. Catch these Smurftastic Deadbeets if you can when they drop at 10am PST this Friday, March 29th, at Scott Tolleson’s online store.
