Thor: The Dark World Pop! Marvel Vinyl Figures Series 2 by Funko

It is extremely odd these days to see movie tie-in toys released almost a year after the film hit theaters, but The Blot won’t complain that Funko just announced a second wave of Thor: The Dark World Pop! vinyl figures! The Blot loved Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, and these new Thor 2 Pop! figures look fantastic. Thor: The Dark World Pop! Series 2 includes Helmeted Loki, Odin, Lady Sif and Heimdall.

Each Thor: The Dark World Pop! Marvel vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation, and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box. While these figures are not scheduled to fly into store shelves until October 2014, you can pre-order them all from Entertainment Earth for $9.99 each here.

The Blot saw Thor: The Dark World last weekend and I freaking loved it! Ok, it wasn’t the best Marvel movie ever but it was definitely one of my favorites. It features the perfect mix of action and humor, something I wouldn’t have originally expected from the Thor franchise. Marvel has also done an incredible job casting this franchise. Chris Hemsworth really is Thor, and Tom Hiddleston is the true breakout star from the Marvel movie universe. He should be in every single film they produce. The only thing this film was lacking was a single scene featuring Hemsworth in Thor’s signature winged helmet!

Personally, The Blot could have done with a little less Natalie Portman and a little more Jaimie Alexander as Sif and Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewish. At least Portman’s Jane Foster was less annoying in Dark World than she was in the first Thor movie and Idris Elba's Heimdall saw an expanded role. And while I loved the bigger role for the Warriors Three (Ray Stevenson and Zachary Levi are two of my favorite actors), why did Hogun get so short changed!?!

Thor: The Dark World is definitely a great film and how can you not love the first ever team up of Thor and Doctor Who (Christopher Eccleston, the Ninth Doctor, stars as the evil Malekith). I recommend seeing it in theaters, and if you do be sure to stick around for the 2 post credit bonus scenes!

Thor: The Dark World Screen Print by Ken Taylor

Thor: The Dark World premieres on the US this Friday and The Blot’s already got his tickets! While Thor’s never been my favorite Marvel superhero, I’m pretty fond of Chris Hemsworth’s take on the character. Now if only they would drop Natalie Portman from the franchise! To commemorate the film’s release, Mondo is reteaming with artist Ken Taylor to produce a really nice Thor: The Dark World screen print. Just consider this a sequel to Taylor’s first Thor poster from 2011.

“Thor: The Dark World” by Ken Taylor is a 24"x36" hand numbered screen print. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 400 pieces and will retail for $50 each, while the Variant has a limited edition run size of 175 pieces and will retail for $75. The print will go on sale at a random time today, Thursday, November 7th, at the Mondo online store.

Thor: The Dark World Wacky Wobbler Bobble Heads by Funko

While Thor: The Dark World definitely seems to have more of a fantasy look and feel that Marvel’s original Thor film, the trailers The Blot’s seen so far look awesome! And so do these Thor: The Dark World Wacky Wobbler Bobble Heads by Funko. Whoever sculpted these The Dark World Wacky Wobblers for Funko did an incredible job. They seriously look just like Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki). Fans of Marvel’s The Avengers movie franchise will definitely want to score these 7” bobble heads.

New character movie posters for this fall’s Thor: The Dark World seem to be hitting the internet every day now! While for the most part these posters of Thor, Loki and company look pretty cool, I wish the designers would tone down the photoshopping a bit. I know this film is pretty much 100% CGI, but do the posters have to look so fake? The poster of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster look more like a painting than an actual live action poster.

This second set of Thor: The Dark World character movie posters includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, and Christopher Eccleston as Malekith (the film’s primary villain).

Thor: The Dark World Pop! Marvel Vinyl Figures by Funko

There’s a new Marvel live action movie coming this November, which means the world will be getting a corresponding series of Pop! vinyl figures from Funko! For Thor: The Dark World Funko will be releasing three awesome movie accurate Pop! Marvel vinyl figures including Thor, Loki and a Dark Elf. Funko’s original Thor movie Pop! were some of the best figures they’ve ever released, and these three are a fabulous continuation of Marvel’s Thor movie line. While Loki isn’t sporting his horned helmet for this release, The Blot actually prefers this version of the God of Lies.

The first character movie posters for Marvel’s next film, Thor: The Dark World, have finally hit the internet and they look awesome! I love that Loki returns for his third film, and it appears this time he’ll be playing the reluctant hero. Interesting times ahead for sure! While these posters are heavily photoshopped, I love all the emotion coming from them. Chris Hemsworth’s Thor one sheet evokes the rush of a battle and the rage of the God of Thunder, while Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is clearly contemplating something truly devious. The Blot can’t wait to see more!

New Thor: The Dark World Movie Poster!

Marvel has released what looks like a final one sheet movie poster for this November’s Thor: The Dark World. It’s way too early for this to be the final poster, but it looks great right? It has a real fantasy feel to it, which is a direction I did not expect Marvel to take with Thor 2. True fantasy doesn’t seem to sell these days and Thor is so much more than that. The Blot also can’t believe how many characters they’ve included in this poster. Pretty much anyone that even says 1 word in the film got included. I just want to know where Kat Dennings! She’d better be playing a huge role in Thor: The Dark World.

SDCC 13 Exclusive Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Thor: The Dark World Concept Art Posters

All next week at San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Marvel will be giving away for free these awesome SDCC 2013 exclusive concept art posters for Captain America: The Winter Soldier (aka Captain America 2) and Thor: The Dark World (aka Thor 2).

This Captain America: The Winter Soldier concept art poster is by Ryan Meinerding, while the Thor: The Dark World concept art poster is by Charlie Wen. Both look pretty awesome don’t you think!?!

Thor: The Dark World Screen Print by Olly Moss

Has it really been over two years since Olly Moss was commissioned to design a Thor screen print as the wrap gift for the cast and crew of Marvel’s first live action Thor movie!?! Well, Thor: The Dark World (aka Thor 2) will be released later this year and once again Olly was invited to design the wrap gift for the film’s cast and crew. How awesome is that!?! Even cooler is Olly was “paid” for his work with a real Mjolnir! The Blot is all kinds of jealous.

What’s particularly bad ass about this Thor: The Dark World screen print is that Olly made a unique poster for each principal cast member with their character as the focal point of the poster. As you can see above there’s Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, Anthony Hopkins’ Odin and Idris Elba’s Heimdall.

Thor: The Dark World Teaser Poster & Movie Trailer #1!

It’s hard to believe Thor 2 will be in theaters later this year. Marvel is really not messing around in getting these live action Avengers movies into theaters. While The Blot’s got no idea what Thor: The Dark World is about, this poster of Chris Hemsworth as Thor looks awesome and the trailer definitely looks exciting! I surprisingly loved the original Thor film, even Natalie Portman’s annoying Jane Foster, so here’s hoping this film is equally as great. Although do we really need more Jane!?! I’m also glad to see Tom Hiddleston return as Loki, and expect big things from a team-up of the God of Mischief and the God of Thunder!
