YU-GI-OH! Trading Card Screen Prints by Mondo

Mondo has announced a new collab with YU-GI-OH!, which will drop later this month!  This officially licensed collection will include screen prints and software vinyl figures based by the iconic YU-GI-OH! Trading Card Game. Check out these really cool, supersized trading card looking YU-GI-OH! Screen Prints.  Fans can choose from the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Red-Eyes Black Dragon and the Dark Magician, or get all three! Each is a 16”x23.5” hand numbered screen print. All three will be as a 7 day Timed Edition starting on noon CT on Friday, February 21st, exclusively at MondoShop.com for $60 each. They will then be available until noon on Friday, February 28th.

To celebrate the debut of this new collection, Mondo is hosting a launch party on Friday, February 21st, at the Funko Hollywood Store in LA with reveals, giveaways and special guests from the worlds of YU-GI-OH! and Mondo. Special Trading Card Game screen prints will be available for purchase, and all attendees will receive a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon screen printed poster – an event exclusive available only in-person!  The YU-GI-OH! YU-GI-OH! Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon Soft Vinyl Figure by Mondo

“Polar Opposite” Companion to its Companion Figure by Alex Pardee x Variantz

Today, Alex Pardee and Variantz continue their insane collaboration by launching a new ongoing series of figures based on Pardee’s favorite Brightmares Companion trading cards. The series – entitled “Companion to its Companion” – kicks off today with Polar Opposite! This rad figure is inspired by the Brightmares card, “Revenge of the Mask”, released in 2021. Polar Opposite by Alex Pardee goes on sale at 12pm PT on Friday, February 2nd, at Variantz.co for $145.

“Polar Opposite” is a limited edition collectible figure inspired by Alex Pardee’s companion card “Revenge of the Mask”, which recounts the story of how a famous baseball player stole a mask from an animatronic polar bear at an abandoned pizza parlor, only to realize that the bear will stop at nothing to get its head back.

The Polar Opposite figure by Alex Pardee stands 6” tall, is insanely detailed, painted and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity in the form of an exclusive signed and numbered trading card. Polar Opposite will be sold blind box style with three different versions randomly inserted in the package.  The standard “Mask-Off” Robot Edition is limited to 300 pieces, while the Masked Variant is limited to 30 pieces and the Bloody Mask-Off Variant is limited to just 15 pieces. The Bloody Variant is hand embellished / hand splattered by Pardee!

SDCC 2022 Exclusive “Triple Threat” Comic Con Variant Companion Baseball Card by Alex Pardee

After a three year hiatus (damn you pandemic!!!), Alex Pardee is heading back to San Diego Comic-Con later this week with a bunch of crazy exclusives. First up is this limited edition San Diego Comic-Con 2022 Exclusive “Triple Threat” Comic Con Variant Companion Baseball Card. This card is like nothing Pardee has done with his popular line of companion baseball cards to date. It's cut out in the center and replaced with clear plastic, giving the whole card a transparent look where it’s cut out.

Limited to just 100 pieces, this “Triple Threat” Comic Con Variant Baseball Card can be purchased at Pardee’s SDCC booth #5502/5503 for $75 (limit 2 per person per day). Magic the Gathering “Our Show Is On Friday, Can You Make It?” Secret Lair Box Set with art by Jeff Soto, Jermaine Rogers & More!

In 2019, Wizards of the Coast launched Secret Lair, which celebrates everything you love about Magic: The Gathering. Each drop puts a brand-new spin on your favorite cards and might even have something new entirely. Think collabs with all kinds of different artists, some with styles you’ve never seen on a Magic card before, others with different weird and awesome ways to celebrate the game.

Each Secret Lair drop is available for a limited time and is print to order, meaning these are timed edition box sets whose cards’ run size is set by the number of orders placed the set period of time.  Wizards of the Cost’s newest Secret Lair box set is entitled “Our Show Is On Friday, Can You Make It?” and features designs by five epic gig poster artists!  This set includes hand drawn cards by artists Ian Jepson, Sam McKenzie, Jermaine Rogers, Jeff Soto, and Alexis Ziritt.

SDCC 2019 Exclusive Garbage Pail Kids x Universal Monsters Collectible Cards by Super7

The Terror Returns! Super7 is once again collaborating with the legendary Universal Monsters at San Diego Comic-Con with the Revenge of the Boodega pop-up event! Just when I thought Funko’s Mystery Minis Blind Box Series couldn’t get any better, the toy company announces a new line of officially licensed Garbage Pail Kids vinyl figures! The Blot’s been waiting decades for good GPK toys and I still can’t believe they’re actually coming. Not only that, but Funko is also releasing a beautiful Adam Bomb 9” vinyl figure. How amazing is all this!?! It’s like the ‘80s all over again.

SDCC 14 Exclusive Toxic Timmy Bootleg Resin Figure by Retroband

The Blot squealed like a little girl when I first saw DKE Toys’ announcement of the San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive Toxic Timmy Bootleg Resin Figure by Retroband!!! This figure is definitely winning The Blot’s made up award for most creative SDCC exclusive of the year. Inspired by his TAG Gallery submission of Toxic Timmy, Aaron Moreno of Retroband has created a mini version of the radioactive mutated child for his upcoming new series titled Retroband Kids. Each 2” mini resin figure comes carded on a traditional 2.5"x3.5" Garbage Pail Kids inspired trading card with artwork by Aaron Moreno.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive Toxic Timmy Bootleg Resin Figure is limited to 50 pieces and will retail for $45 exclusively at the DKE Toy SDCC booth #5054.

The Topps Baseball Vintage T-Shirt Collection by Homage

While most people are talking about football on this America’s biggest sports day of the year (the Super Bowl's today, duh), The Blot thought I’d turn my attention to the nation’s former favorite pastime, baseball! Everyone at some point in their life has bought a pack of trading cards (or wax packs), whether it was baseball cards, basketball cards, Garbage Pail Kids, Magic: The Gathering or Pokemon, and no name is more synonymous with trading cards than The Topps Company. Topps definitely played a big role in The Blot’s childhood, so of course I was really blown away to find out about these Topps vintage t-shirts by Homage!

Evidently the Topps x Homage Collection has been out for a while, but no one bothered to tell me. These Topps vintage t-shirts are inspired by the magic of card collecting, and features original Topps artwork from actual wax packs and old baseball cards found deep in the Topps Archives. Five different designs were produced in all (4 t-shirts and 1 hoodie), each one better than the last. My personal favorites are the “Topps All Star Rookie”, featuring the annual Topps All-Star Rookie Team logo, and “The Real One”.

The Topps x Homage Collection is currently available for purchase in sizes XS-XXXL at the Homage online store. The vintage t-shirts retail for $28, while the vintage Topps Baseball hoodie sells for $65.

F*cked Up Kids Sticker Series 2

The Blot’s buddy RenOne recently started a Garbage Pail Kid parody called "F*cked Up Kids" or “FUK” for short. After the success of this independent sticker series’ first collection RenOne is bring Fuk back for a second series! FUK Series 2 will be a random mix of stickers from each of the artists below, plush 1 sticker from all of the artists that were in FUK Series 1. What’s interesting about this release is the ratio of the series’ chase stickers will be determined by FUK Series 2’s pre-orders. This series will also include rare error cards and a super rare Golden Ticket! If you find the Golden Ticket, RenOne will turn your name into a FUK Series 3 sticker! How freaking cool is that? Plus, all pre-orders will receive an exclusive pre-order sticker.

The Art Hustle Series 3 Trading Cards

The Cardhacks and SideKick Media have teamed up once again to release everyone’s favorite designer art toy trading card series The Art Hustle! The Blot’s always excited to see who’s been selected for inclusion in The Art Hustle from the world of art, toys, blogs and so much more! The Hundreds x Garbage Pail Kids Collection

Last week The Hundreds released a new collaboration with Topps featuring one of The Blot’s all time favorite trading card series, Garbage Pail Kids! It feels like the Garbage Pail Kids are definitely having a resurgence in 2011, as I’ve seen their names pop up a number times in our little corner of the art world, and it couldn’t have happened to a better ‘80s property.

Originally created as a spin-off of Topp’s Wacky Packages in 1985, Garbage Pail Kids quickly skyrocketed into everyone’s childhood memories through trading cards, stickers and key chains. What’s really cool about this collection is that it’s the first collaboration in Garbage Pail Kids’ 26-year history of creating disgustingly hilarious and outrageous characters. The Hundreds x Garbage Pail Kids Collection consists of five special edition The Hundreds themed characters, a proud addition to the over two dozen Garbage Pail Kids series created over the years.

The Hundreds x Topps Garbage Pail Kids includes “Adam Bomb”, which consists of The Hundreds’ signature character with an exploding head; “Bloggy Bobby”, a character with a melted face due to a technology overload; “Burger Ben”, a character chowing down on a greasy burger; “Stinky Scotty”, a character with bright blue hair, a skateboard, and several indications that he reeks; and “Trashy Ashley” a character wrapped in backstage passes and drenched in booze.

This killer collaboration includes THxGPK t-shirts ($36), snapback hats ($32), crewnecks ($64) and keychains ($5), all of which can be purchased at all of The Hundreds retail locations, The Hundreds online stores and select specialty stores worldwide. And be sure to keep your eyes out for the super rare The Hundreds x Garbage Pail Kids Doubles, which are the twins to the The Hundreds Garbage Pail Kids characters and feature an alternate identity. These THxGPK Doubles are being printed in extremely low numbers (less than 20 of each Double), and will be randomly assorted throughout all distribution.
