Unbox Industries is teaming up with celebrated set designer and illustrator Gary Card on two new designer art figures, the Breakfast Boys - Smudge and Nemesis! The Blot loves how Unbox Industries continues to bring in new faces to the designer toy scene and push the boundaries of what a resin figure can be. Card is best known for his immersive installations, continuously elevating fashion photography to another dimension of playfulness. He has collaborated with numerous creative powerhouses, including Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Comme Des Garçons and Louis Vuitton.
Smudge and Nemesis are the first figures in Unbox Industries and Gary Card’s new ongoing series of art figures based on the UK artist’s universe of Breakfast Boys characters. These figures will look to stretch the perception of what can be produced in figural form. Gary supplied a series of one-off figures to the Unbox team who then had the task of reproducing his work by recasting each individual piece and then meticulously constructing the figure to his exact specification. The results are truly breathtaking!
Smudge and Nemesis resin figures by Gary Card go on sale at 11am EDT today, Saturday, March 23rd, at the Unbox Industries online store for $375 each. These hand painted art figures stand 37cm tall, are cast in ABS style resin, and come packaged in a full color printed box.
