African Minigod 20” Dunny by Marka27

The Blot’s going to try to keep this post short, because anything I could write would do this amazing custom by Marka27 an injustice. This 20” Dunny is just plain incredible! Marka created the custom above for his signing at Kidrobot NY this Thursday to promote the release of his first 8” Dunny, the Shadow Serpent. The 20" African Minigod Dunny was inspired by African warriors and African face masks, and can be seen at Marka’s signing on Thursday, April 20th, from 6-8pm at Kidrobot NY.

For those custom aficionados, this 20" custom feature features 4 full range Sony speakers, hand sculpted details, pyramid studs, leather bands with brass spikes, a skull necklace and feathers. It was created with acrylics and spray paint, with a clear varnish finish.

Shadow Serpent 8” Dunny by Marka27

Powerful ancient gods and contemporary musical forces mix it up to form the new Shadow Serpent 8 inch Dunny by Marka27, blending an iconic platform with Marka’s popular mini-god aesthetic. Bright green and adorned with slithering serpents and native markings, Shadow Serpent bears 3 decorative mini-speakers sculpted into its head and a printed speaker on both the back and belly. The serpent influence comes from Marka’s Mexican heritage, pulling inspiration from the ancient god Quetzalcoatl, a feathered serpent deity worshipped by the Mayans, Aztecs and other indigenous cultures.

The follow up to Marka27’s 3” Dunny Azteca II figure is stunning, and what makes it even better is Kidrobot will also be releasing a 1 in 6 black variant chase Shadow Serpent, which features white and pink graphics. Marka27’s first 8” Dunny has a limited edition run size of 1,500 pieces and goes on sale Thurday, April 21st in Kidrobot stores, kidrobot.com and specialty retailers for $70 each.

To coincide with the release of the 8” Shadow Serpent Dunny, Marka27 will be making the Kidrobot rounds with a 3 city signing tour. There will be a pre-release signing on Wednesday April 20th at Kidrobot New York, followed by Kidrobot Los Angeles on Thursday the 21st and then ending the tour at Kidrobot San Francisco on Friday, April 22nd. All events will take place from 6-8pm, and the first 50 in line at all three stores will score a FREE limited edition Shadow Serpent poster!

Green & Fuchsia Minigod Dunny A/Ps by Marka27 Available Now!

Yesterday, Marka27 put the Artist Proofs of his Green and Fuchsia Minigod Dunnys up for sale at his official online store. Only 20 of each colorway are available, and every Minigod 3” AP Dunny comes signed, numbered and includes a super limited edition 11”x17” poster previously only available at the Kidrobot New York Dunny Azteca Series II release party.

Marka27’s Green Azteca Minigod AP Dunny retails for $20, while the rarer Fuchsia Azteca Minigod AP Dunny retails for $100. Both can be purchased, while supplies last, directly from the artist at the Marka27 Mercado.

Dunny Azteca Series II Checklist and Ratios

We’re just two days away from the launch of Kidrobot’s newest 3 inch Dunny blind box series, Dunny Azteca Series 2! To help everyone prepare for Azteca 2’s upcoming release, check out the official Kidrobot Collector’s Checklist above, which surprisingly includes both colorways for the Saner and OCHOstore Dunnys. The Blot may be mistaken, but this seems like the first time KR has included multiple colorways for “common” Dunnys in their checklists.

The ratios on this series are also pretty reasonable, unless you’re a Jesse Hernandez fan. Between this series and Series 2010, Jesse’s 3” Dunnys have been incredibly hard to find

Pink Mini-God Dunny by Marka27 - The Dunny Azteca II Series Case Incentive Giveaway

Kidrobot just posted the photo above on flickr and The Blot is pretty excited! What you see here is the hot pink alternate colorway for Marka27’s 3” Mini-God Dunny from KR’s upcoming Dunny Azteca 2 Series. The photo’s caption reads “Dunny Azteca II ‘Special’ Giveaway Dunny,” so I assume this means it’s the free figure given away (while supplies last) to those collectors who purchase a case of Azteca II on January 20th. But I’m not 100% sure of that. Without a doubt more details will be released as we get closer and closer to the Azteca 2 Series’ release date next week.

Kidrobot Dunny Azteca Series 2

The fiesta begins on January 20th when Azteca Series 2 hits Kidrobot stores, kidrobot.com and select retailers for $9.95 per blind box.

Kidrobot - Dunny Azteca Series 2 Teaser Image

The Blot has no idea if this is legit or not, but it looks like Kidrobot’s long rumored 3” Dunny Azteca Series 2 is finally seeing the light of day. Toy blog Vinyles Chiles has posted a photo of what may be the official lineup for Azteca Series 2. (link) While the first Dunny Azteca Series was extremely popular (and limited), I’m really not feeling the designs below. Then again, maybe they’ll grow on me once I’ve seen them in person.
